  • Maybe ask your doctor how many calories he wants you to eat.....It's hard to know exactly how many to have. My DR said not to focus on calories per say, but to make sure you're eating lots of fruits, veggies, low fat dairy, lean meats and complex carbs as much as possible for meals and snacks. I had roughly 2100-2200…
  • mmmmmmmmm yes! and the best NEW drink I've tried: Tall Nonfat Cocoa Cappuccino (their website says this has 120 calories...) I highly recommend it!!!
  • I have been BFing my son for over 11 months now and I have lost 60 lbs. since having him. I never went below 1800 calories. (when I was eating 1600, I did notice a drop in supply after a few weeks). I upped it to 1800-2000 and gained back maybe 2 pounds that week, then it started dropping again. You burn about 500 calories…
  • I never get a specific brand, but I always look for a Double Fiber bread for my family. My husband never gets enough fiber and this is a great way for him to sneak in some extra! :)
  • Nature's Path Organic Flax Plus Pumpkin Granola! http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Path-Organic-Pumpkin-11-5-Ounce/dp/B001EO5RFE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300996114&sr=8-1 It is high in fiber, tastes GREAT and I get in the DHA for my son who is still nursing!
  • You can TOTALLY tell!!!!! (especially in the stomach!) GOOD JOB! YAY :)
  • My best friend is in her 4th year of medical school, and when I asked her about this diet, she told me it wasn't safe.
  • Oatmeal! Whenever I'd notice a drop in supply, I eat it up and the next day I have LOTS of milk again :-D Drink lots of water! Mother's Milk tea gives me a headache...I almost never have that... Also, one thing I noticed (I am currently 35 lbs. under pre-pregnancy weight and have been nursing for 9 months): if you restrict…
  • I gained 27 lbs. My son was 8 lbs. I gained 5 (1st trimester), 10 (2nd trimester), 12 (3rd trimester). I walked 25-40 minutes most days of the week or did Denise Austin's prenatal workout tape, which I highly recommend:…

  • Yeah, don't worry about it. At least you recognize it. It was only one day. The problems start if you continued doing this for the entire week. Just have a light dinner (like a chicken breast, cup of veggies and some salad- that's what I did on bad days to make up for it) and maybe do a light cardio work out tape or walk a…
  • Try switching pills. I took a generic version of Desogen (Apri) a few years back and lost 10 pounds in 2 months. I didn't change my diet at all, but I did kickboxing 3x a week out of fear that I'd gain weight on the pill.
  • My husband and I were wondering the same thing...and I have my theory. I think since they were used to working out 4-6 hours a day while at the ranch, they probably built up a lot of muscle. For me, when I exercise a lot for a week or two straight (1.5-2 hours a day) I don't see much of a weight loss that week. However,…
  • Totally have a piece of cake!!! :) You can have a small piece or even a larger piece. Just plan the rest of your week to accommodate the cake calories. Eat a little less and exercise a little more 2 days before and 2 days after your birthday and you can have your birthday meal and dessert guilt free. :-D That's what I used…
  • I got pregnant the first month I tried, but I was also using basal body temperature, which I did for 4 months before hand. I knew the exact date I was going to ovulate. When you go to your doctor appointment, you could ask them what to do about birth control pills. I know it's bad, but I totally have been eating lunch meat…
  • Buy the burrito that you love, cut it into thirds, eat 1/3 of the burrito along with a salad or something else super healthy, and have the meal for 3 dinners. That way you get exactly what you want, and you don't have to feel bad about the calories and fat. The other recipes posted look yummy for alternatives, but if…
  • Don't feel silly at all! You are definitely on the right track with starting prenatal vitamins now. Everything I read said that if you start taking prenatal vitamins 3 months before TTC, it lowers the risk of miscarriage significantly. Folic Acid makes the biggest impact during week 5-6 when the neural tube is forming and…
  • Salad with veggies, light dressing, chicken strips or deli meat, and some shredded cheese :-D Also, if you do have some bread: Oroweat makes a really good Double Fiber 100% whole grain bread that only has 70 calories per slice. I usually have 2 pieces of that, 6 pieces of Oscar Meyer oven roasted turkey, lettuce, light…
  • I get a 6-piece chicken McNuggets (250 calories) and a Medium Hazelnut iced coffee (180). That's a total of 430 calories. I love love LOVE flavored coffee though! If you don't like coffee, this might not be the order for you lol :)
  • I saw it at Target yesterday for $17.99 I'm getting it after I deliver my baby in April!!! :) I don't want to start cutting calories and worrying about losing weight now while I'm in my 3rd trimester.
  • When I was in college, I used to have Starbucks double espresso canned drinks (they're small cans, like 5-6 oz). They had 5 calories and worked like a charm! I also had black coffee or tea with a packet of sugar and a splash of skim milk. It worked wonders keeping me up when I had papers and tests to study for. Sometimes…
  • I take a prenatal multi-vitamin every day (I'm pregnant, before that I took Women's One-A-Day too). I also take: Omega-3 Calcium I take my calcium in the morning, omega-3 with lunch and the multi-vitamin with dinner. Your body can only absorb 500 mg of calcium at a time, so I take mine morning and night for this reason. If…
  • Good job staying within your calorie limit even though you were injured!!! :)

  • SKIPPY NATURAL!!! I've been eating it for almost 3 years, and I can't taste a difference between that and regular peanut butter, especially if I'm putting the peanut butter on something else.
  • a red velvet cupcake! :)
  • I spend about $100 to $125 for groceries each week, and it's just me and my husband. If you want healthy food (fruit, veggies, juice, lean meat) it's going to cost a lot more than boxed food. Maybe you could try explaining it like this: "I'd rather spend a little bit more each week NOW on healthy foods, than eat boxed…
  • Newman's Own Sesame Ginger is amazing! Everyone I know loves it! Also: WIshbone fat free Italian is awesome. It's simple and the cheapest one at the grocery store. This is also good for marinades and sometimes I cut cucumbers or carrots and drizzle a little bit of the Wishbone Fat Free Italian on top. Newman's Own has a…
  • That's exactly what I do. My husband loves going to Chipotle and donut places, etc. on weekends, and now I just have half of everything, or just 1 donut, and it has really helped. Get a big glass of water or some other low-calorie drink to go with all the food and you'll fill up faster! :)
