  • Yes!!! The 21 day fix program is way better for a beginner, and even that has a modifier. You should leave your workout feeling good about yourself, not defeated. Work up to insanity! (I never got there...it was so hard I just couldn’t force myself.) I also like Piyo!
  • I put lightly active, because I'm a SAHM and always on my feet and out and about with the kids. Then I wear a heart rate monitor for my workouts and log those separately... I get 1600 daily calories with my settings. Burn off 500-1,000 a day depending on if I work out once or twice that day... I eat back about 1/3 to 1/2…
  • I just had the marsala meal today at Olive Garden. The amount you have is NOTHING! The entire plate had 910 for the regular marsala (not stuffed). Your whole plate I would estimate at 450-500. The calories in a full serving is probably 50 potato pieces, and 3 pieces of chicken, heavily topped with sauce and mushrooms. You…
  • There are a lot of chemicals in it still. It can set you up for more sugar cravings later...but my DIETITIAN drinks 2 cans a week! :) I'd say anything is fine in moderation!
  • 1475 is your BMR (I don't know how old you are, so I kept the default, which is 30) which is the minimum you should be eating. 1200 is not enough...my 5 year old has more calories than that! :) If you are exercising at a moderate intensity for an hour, you should add 100 calories. Try eating 1575. I guarantee you will lose…
  • I gave it up completely when pregnant. My doctor said 200 mg/day was fine. I chose to cut it out because I already had several miscarriages and some studies have linked caffeine with higher likelihood of miscarriages in women who have already experienced early pregnancy loss. I eliminated caffeine out of extra precaution.…
  • Please don't waste your money on it. Get protein powder and take a multi-vitamin. If you eat fruits/veggies (real food), yogurt- you get all your nutrients from food and aren't wasting $147/month on Shakeology.
  • I lost 10 pounds my first week of "Body Back." no restricting...I went from eating all garbage to eating only whole foods- 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. It felt AMAZING! I lost 30 pounds in 6 months sticking with that program and I hope to lose 20 more :)
  • I spend $800 a month for a family of 4. I guess that is about $200 a week. I buy all organic food and baby food pouches...organic whole, 2% and skim.... grass fed meats... This budget also includes things like: detergent, soap, paper towel, toilet paper, etc. It's TOUGH to stick to that budget....I pretty much can only buy…
  • I have family there and customs can be a total pain. You are lucky you didn't get searched!
  • The Boar's Head has a reduced sodium/no nitrates lunch meat. I buy that. It's not always possible for me to have time to grill chicken or what not. The Boar's Head is an excellent alternative...but it is expensive to get that one.
  • I'm the same way. I have lost weight without any exercise. I have worked out 5 times a week and lost no weight. You lose weight with a good diet. It's 80% diet, 20% gym. However, you may lose inches faster, you'll be healthy, you'll have energy and you'll feel better with exercise. Choose an exercise that you like! I LOVE…
  • So, 1 oz. is 120 calories or so...in the bags I get, it says "serving size 1 oz., servings per container: 4" So I take roughly 1/4 of the bag as my "serving." I'm not THAT strict with stuff like that. The way I figure- if I take a little extra, it will be 150 cals. If I take a little less it will be 100 cals. If I am super…
  • SKINNY POP popcorn. Got a HUGE bag at Costco. It has 39 calories a cup...I can fill a bowl for like, 120 calories and it's super filling!!!
  • Applegate Farms makes some good nitrate free breakfast sausage. I like the chicken sausage and turkey sausage. They have pork too, but I'm not much of a pork person...
  • A 1/2 cup of ice cream is "2 golf-ball sized scoops" My aunt used to say that and we all laughed at her...till we actually took out golf balls, measured out ice cream and then mashed it into a half cup measuring cup...lol. I guess you could weigh it...but that just sounds annoying. I think the thought of having to weigh my…
  • You look so good! Your stomach is SO flat :) Great job, Girl :)
  • Snap Peas Baby Carrots Baby Spinach Organic Hummus (or regular hummus, garlic hummus, red pepper hummus) Guacamole Edamame Dip Pretzel Thins Cucumber Dill Tzatziki dip (I use it as salad dressing- 30 calories for 2 TBS) Pure Protein Shakes (in a can) "Handful of Almonds" "Handful of Cashew, Almond, Cranberries" ALL of the…
  • GREAT IDEA!!! What kind of coffee do you use??
  • Go for it! I have a friend who won't use protein powder, but she adds almonds and old fashioned oats to her smoothies. You'll want to add some protein/extra fiber to keep you full. Sounds like a great breakfast idea!!! :) I use "Designer Whey" protein with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, ice, 1/2 a banana, 1 T peanut…
  • I have very similar stats as you and I'm on the -1 a week plan. I eat about 1800 calories, and do 1 hour of cardio and strength 5 days a week. I'm not ever hungry and I never beat myself up. I started at 199.5 and I've gotten down to 175.5 in about 5 months (so lost about 24 lbs.) I have done it many times in the past with…
  • Great job!!! Mine is: I've lost 26 lbs. since Jan 15 and the other day a friend of mine was like "I didn't recognize you from the back. I was wondering who that was over there" lol. SO happy :)
  • Ask in the store, but generally, mustard is rather low-calorie. I think the Turkey Sub 6" has 280 calories. So, probably no more than 300 with the mustard.

  • Lost 25 lbs. I get it twice a month probably. I get a chicken salad (no dressing) with black beans, medium and corn salsa, and some sour cream. It's healthy, full of veggies and about 525 calories according to their website. You can fit ANYTHING into your calorie count and still lose weight. I had a big mac for 540…
  • I have one at 3 pm as a snack all the time. It helped me stop eating like crazy mid-afternoon. If I eat lunch at 12 or 1, there's no way I cam make it to 6 p.m. without getting hungry. Especially on days when I do double workouts for 2 hours total. I always add ice- something about freezing ice mixed with milk and a little…
  • What happened? If you don't mind me asking.
  • I take the Nature Made Women's One a Day. I got a bottle at Costco for like $15....it has 300 vitamins in it. So, almost a whole year for $15!!! :-D They have the prenatals too, if you need that. Those are $18.
  • Honestly, I don't log every single food at a cookout. It gets way too tedious. I don't go to things like that very often. I mostly stick to vegetable trays and protein. If I grab a few bites of pasta salad or desserts, I don't beat myself up about it. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and the way I look at it: these…
  • I just posted about this! I just bought Designer Whey. Very affordable and super tasty! I had it as a meal, but I mixed it with skim milk, frozen strawberries, 1/2 a banana and some frozen black cherries. It had lots of fruit, too, making it a super healthy, filling lunch :)
