Pirate Booty

So I LOVE to eat Pirate Booty and I know it's supposed to be a healthy snack option. My question is how much are you allowed to eat. I had 1/2 cup which is 4oz. The entire bag is 4oz!! There is a big difference between eating 1/2 a cup and the entire bag. So does anyone know the equivalence of what I ate so I can enter it in my food diary. If I eat 1oz (the serving size) is that equal a cup???
Please help- i'm sure i'm not alone on this.
Thanks.

That's where you pretty much need a food scale, or it's just guesswork.
1oz = weight. A cup = volume. It's like comparing apples and oranges. You can't measure solids by volume... it only works for liquids.0 -
So, 1 oz. is 120 calories or so...in the bags I get, it says "serving size 1 oz., servings per container: 4" So I take roughly 1/4 of the bag as my "serving." I'm not THAT strict with stuff like that. The way I figure- if I take a little extra, it will be 150 cals. If I take a little less it will be 100 cals. If I am super rigid with it, I can't stick to it for the long run.
You could get a food scale, too.0 -

To make it easier, just buy the 1oz packs.
1/4 cup = volume. 1 ounce = weight. You can't compare the two. Without a scale it's going to be a bit difficult.
I went ahead and dumped 1 oz of PB into a measuring cup for you - it's APPROXIMATELY 2 cups. This is a very (very) rough measurement, but it gives you a general idea of what you're eating. I hope this helps.0 -
Same as everyone else, best way to solve this problem is to weigh your food first.
Now, best way to figure it out from here (as you don't currently have a food scale) figure out what percentage of the bag you ate. If one cup is 1/4th of a 4 ounce bag, then you ate 1oz and can log that.0 -

1 oz of Pirate Booty is about two cups. That's not exact, because ounces are weight and cups are volume. A food scale would serve you well.
Trader Joe's makes a cheese puff a lot like Pirate Booty that a serving is 140 cal and 2.5 cups. I think it tastes a lot better than Pirate Booty.0 -
