Fitness/Activity Level Settings vs Workouts

I am trying to figure out if I should put my activity level as slightly active plus adding in my workouts or not. I average 12k steps a day, but that includes any workouts of walking/running and bodyweight exercises. I don't want to overestimate, but I also don't want to eat too few calories. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

What do you do the rest of the day?
Your activity level should reflect what you do the rest of the day (ie - sit at a desk = sedentary; teacher/house cleaner where you're on your feet moving around quite a bit = lightly active; construction worker = maybe active)0 -
I put lightly active, because I'm a SAHM and always on my feet and out and about with the kids. Then I wear a heart rate monitor for my workouts and log those separately...
I get 1600 daily calories with my settings.
Burn off 500-1,000 a day depending on if I work out once or twice that day...
I eat back about 1/3 to 1/2 of my exercise calories.
I drop about 1 or 2 lbs. a week- depends on how much I eat and how much I exercise. If I eat too little, I end up binging and un-doing everything I've worked so hard for. I have to at LEAST have my 1,600 to 1,700 or that's when I'll eat an entire sleeve of cookies.
You have to do what works for you. You can change/alter depending on if you lose or maintain.
If I even tried to eat 1,200 calories, no one would ever come near me- way too low and I'd be miserable.
I've gotten to the point where I refuse to eat less than my 32 lb. toddler. haha!0 -

I am a SAHM and homeschool. I do have to sit to do school part of the day, but am up and doing things around the house in between lessons, while kids are working, or after we have finished. I certainly don't sit all day, or even most of the day.0 -

Thanks! That helps. I've been eating at 1,200 for a bit, but I find I can only do that for a short amount of time. I am a SAHM as well, so I keep pretty busy around the house.0 -
My sons school is .5 miles away, I walk him to school and pick him up from school every day and I'm a dance teacher. I never log those walks or my time teaching dance and I have my activity level set to slightly active and I eat 1800 a day and half my workout calories and losing just fine.
