  • Thank you for this! I see others have replied harshly to your comment, but I COMPLETELY understand what you meant by it. Jeez people! I'm sure if you get off your high horse you'd know what he meant too. I'm 5'9" and will never be anywhere near 110, 120, 130, etc.....and I know I'll look great when I get where I'm going,…
  • Me neither....:frown: There's still hope!
  • Agreed. It is VERY frustrating to have to double, triple and quadruple check. It takes me forever to add a recipe because I check all the fresh items (meats, veggies, etc.) online and then try to find the right one that is entered in MFP instead of adding a new one. There should be some kind of approval process to confirm…
  • To feel better, look better, and be healthy. To avoid diabetes - it runs in my family. To remove "plus size" from my dating profile. :) To fit in an airplane seat without worrying if I'm crowding the person next to me. Well....that might be too much to ask considering the size of those seats. Haha! *****Most of all***** I…
  • Thank you cynner69 - You just made my day!
  • Some really great stories here. I hope to have one someday as well.....it does get hard to believe in it sometimes, but I love the quote: Just because something isn't happening for you right now, doesn't mean that it will never happen. Always have hope! I can't live without hope. :smooched:
  • OP - YOU are wonderful for making us feel special today! Thanks so much!
  • I WISH I wasn't into food. I LOOOOOVVVVE food and like you, often plan my day around it. But, I've lost 45lbs still loving food. I just eat less of it. I can say that I've learned to not comfort myselft with it as much....still working on it, not perfect, but better. I have heard that hypnosis works for this,…
  • You are soooo right! I've been eating 1900-1950 calories, even started out at 2050 calories and I've lost 45 lbs....yes, by eating more than pretty much any other "diet" suggests. That's why this is a lifestyle change and not a diet. I can live on this and the gradual decrease in calories as I lose more. Ignore the…
  • You can use vanilla almond milk (reduced sugar) and this is less calories than milk. I also add fruit and sometimes PB2 for more flavor. I will even sometimes use truvia instead of sugar to lower the cals. But, I like oatmeal with just brown sugar and almond milk. Not a lot of calories anyway.
  • Hell yes!!! :smooched:
  • Thank you all for sharing! I too started out with over 100lbs to lose. I am 5'9" and began this journey at 307. OMG! I hadn't yet posted that to the public. :embarassed: Ugh!!! I'm down 42lbs as of today and I'm not looking back! My first short term goal is 250 by my friend's wedding in August. My long term goal is 200 (by…
  • Whether or not you find it helpful will depend largely on you, your decisions about food, your commitment to losing, how accurately you log, etc. But....it is a proven fact that more people lose more weight if they keep track (i.e. log) their food. Clearly if a person is determined to lose weight, they can do it without…
  • Haha. Maybe carthartic isn't quite the right word. :embarassed:
  • I find it very important to be successful at this. I log every thing I eat. And over time it became kind of cathartic.
  • You can also try some slow cooker recipes. Less time in the kitchen so that you can enjoy your only down time and voila you've got lunches.
  • " My calorie goal was set at 1800 by MFP, and you are right - I do need to eat more. I've noticed I've missed the goal more days than not. My trouble comes from not wanting to continue eating at night to reach the goal, then going to bed with too full a belly. I've got to figure out how to be prepared for the upcoming day,…
  • I only looked a little over a week back, but my first suggestion would be to double check your calorie goal. Thinking it should be a little higher. And definitely eat more. You're consistently eating well below your goal - that's not good long term.
  • Already said...but, yes.....popcorn!
  • Stuffed green pepper soup. Mmmmm.....I can't wait for lunch time.
  • ^^Ditto!^^
  • Totally! Haha. Much more action here than on eHarm. :noway:
  • Hmmm, hadn't even considered it. But I am on eHarmony so what's the difference, I guess? :ohwell: Mostly, I want to see what everyone replies. Haha.
  • I have suffered from this for years.....has not gone away. It does get better when I rest it, ice it, etc. I've had several cortizone shots. I ALWAYS wear shoes with inserts or at the very least birkenstocks as sandals and slippers to have the arch support. The cortizone shot works for a good while IF you follow the docs…
  • H..O..L..Y.....C..R..A..P..!!! You look amazing! Thank you for posting. It is such an inspiration to those of us early in our journey. :)
  • Logging your food really does help. It makes you see exactly what you are eating, how many calories, etc.... It will also bring you to realize what foods/meals keep you fuller longer or where you might be having weaknesses. Be sure to log every single thing you put in your mouth. One thing that has helped me tremendously…
  • To answer bluntly - Yes, you are over reacting. Don't worry about them. Worry about you. Of course, it is always nice to hear compliments on weight loss, and it can make your day, but if you get that upset that they didn't comment, this is going to be a long and very bumpy road. You have to take them out of your equation.…
  • No real alternative. No one said you had to like it.....LOL. You should do it because it's what your body needs. You get yourself into a habit and eventually you'll learn to like it. Yes, you can have other liquids (in fruit, flavored water, teas, etc.), but water should be your main liquid intake without stuff in it. Try…
