dont give up!!!! You have to do your food log. Changing your eating habits will make you successful at weight loss. I agree with the person who said it's about 80/20 diet/exercise. Stick with it! Don't quit! We all struggle at first. Find some other people with public diaries and get some ideas.

It took me about 20, but everybody is shaped differently.

What's wrong with diet coke? Absolutely nothing. If you used to drink a liter of regular coke a day and have switched to diet, I applaud you for taking a step in the right direction. I think the most important thing to remember is that we are on a journey. I can't just get off my couch tomorrow and run a marathon. It takes…

I have this fantasy about shopping with my cousin. She's like a size 5 and we've never been able to try on clothes together in the same store. I think about that a lot when I'm exercising. Or I picture myself at whatever event or special occasion I have upcoming looking gorgeous, healthy and amazing!

I did not know: 1. I do not have to gain weight on vacation if I continue to log my calories and drink my water. I have been on several weekend trips and have come home either the same weight or less. 2. That exercising regularly for two months time would lower my blood pressure so much. 3. That I could spend more than 5…

It's usually a Sunday when I go to my inlaws for lunch after church. Church is a big deal to me and i make it my business not to do anything besides spend time with God and family on Sunday. The reason I picked that day as my high calorie day is because I didn't want my mother in law to have to go to the trouble of…

I never knew that. Hmmm. I'll have to take that into consideration. Thanks

Cool! Let's do it! Maybe we can start a movement! LOL! I'm in.

What an accomplishment!!!! You should be so proud of yourself! Go you!

I've been feeling this way all week too!! I'm looking forward to a three day weekend and I hope I can get my weight loss mojo back!! Even if you have to take a couple of days off from the gym, stay eating clean and regroup after the weekend. Just don't revert to old habits!! Good luck getting back on track!

Yes! I downloaded one for my iPhone that lets me use my own music and it cues you when to run and walk. just search C25K in the app store. I think it was 1.99

I have a new favorite jean!!! The 'sweetheart' jeans i tried on yesterday. I can't wait until its time to go shopping!!!

I love to bake! That's therapeutic for me as well. I actually got through my first batch of cookies without taste testing. I let my husband be the taster. And almost as soon as I finish baking, I get them the heck out of my house! If I know we are going to someone's for dinner, I bring dessert. If people stop by the house,…

Try old navy for wardrobe staples like jeans and tees. They also have some cute dresses in the summer!

Count me in! That's one of the reasons that I started losing weight!

I have one day a week where I let myself have one thing that I'm craving. I don't have a big no holds barred calorie bonanza, but if I've been ready to kill for an ice cream cone, I'll go get one. Some things I've changed. For example, I made my own pizza tonight instead of ordering out. It still satisfied my pizza…

I love this thread! I've gotten so many new ideas of things to make. My thing that I've "discovered" is Kashi pizza. It's the mushroom and spinach kind. 250 calories a serving and totally satisfies the pizza craving without the calorie overload. One serving is 1/3 of the pizza which is a pretty big slice! Yum!

You can do it!!! We all fall off the wagon sometimes. Just do what you know works: eating well and exercising. Good luck on your journey!

I'm not a big time runner or anything, but I know it's important to have the right shoes before you start. Couch to 5k is a good program for starting out and building endurance. And there's always a group of C25kers starting under the motivation and support tab. Good luck!

Do you have a digital scale? I found that I had that problem with mine. Taking an average is probably smart. Idk what causes the variations.

I was looking through the replies and I don't think anyone mentioned this. Water was a definite factor for me. Once I started drinking enough H2O, it completely kills my appetite. Once I upped my intensity with my exercise, I haven't had a problem. My appetite kicked in and I'm in a happy place right now with my 1320 cals.…

Very cool! Congrats on your 51lbs lost! Great job!!

Thanks for your input! Since C25k is only 3 days a week, I think I'll do 30 day shred for strength training for the other 2 days. That should be a good mix of cardio and strength.

I've only been losing small amounts like 0.8 lbs and 0.4 lbs for the last two weeks. I'm trying to shake up my exercise and do different things to break through and I'm hoping fir better results this week. That being said, I understand what you feel like. I have more than 100 lbs to lose and I keep thinking that by eating…

I can totally relate. Would it be possible to work it into your daily calorie allowance? Sometimes (very very rarely) I will have ice cream instead of eating dinner so I can get it out of my system.
-
Kudos to you for recognizing a problem. More people should be so self aware. There is no shame in staying away until you are stronger. I wish you the best of luck!

I've found that I have the best success when I eat what MFP prescribes for me. If I try to eat less, I usually end up too hungry and craving for things that are bad for me. 800-900 is not enough. If you feel like you can't hit the MFP number, aim for at least 1200 because you don't want to go into starvation mode. Good…

Thanks guys. I know it's ultimately about my health and the changes I've made. I was just having a mini freakout about it. I feel better getting it off my chest instead of drowning my sorrows in ice cream. :)

Welcome! It's never too late to change! Just take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time!
