i agree with the others that you should see a doc, but I was wondering if your resting heartrate is elevated. I've read that if you have a hard time getting your HR up when exercising your hardest and your resting HR is elevated, it could be that you are getting burned out and need to take a couple of days off from your…

have you ever had any problems with yours?

I was really lacking in motivation to go to the gym today until my HRM arrived from amazon.com. I programed all my info and it was very liberating to not have to stop and check my HR. I had a HRM that is a watch and i had to press the two sensors to get a reading. I found out today that I am actually spending more time at…

Pick whatever you like for motivation no matter how vain or insignificant you think it might be. There are people that want to lose weight for many reasons. Some do it for health, some do it for clothing or shopping or to be attractive to the opposite sex. Pick whatever is going to get you off the couch to focus on.…

According to my HRM, I have burned about 500 to 700 cals on the treadmill depending on my intensity. The low end being if I were walking for that period of time and the high end being alternating between walking and jogging. I weigh 245 and Im 29. Our weights are pretty close, but I know that how many calories you burn…

I have purchased and read it (I know, I'm a nerd. It really can't be helped  ). Since I'm a frequent listener to her show, I had heard some of the info before, but I am really disturbed by some of the things that the government is allowed to do with food that we have no idea about. I am looking for ways to cut the…

I tried this video yesterday. I was able to finish even though it was pretty killer. I did most of the beginner modifications, but according to my HRM I burned 435 calories. IMO that's great for never having left my house. Anyone else tried it?

I did Jillian Michaels' No more trouble zones today.:noway: I literally thought I would die. It's close to an hour long and I made it through about 25 min. I have a plan to rotate between that and cardio through my five days a week. Seriously, if no one hears from me, send the police to get my tushie off the floor. The…

I am a member of her site. It has kind of the same format as here except there is no calorie tracking feature. They have message boards and she gives u exercises and a menu for everyday. There is also a feature where u can view and search recipes, but I haven't done that yet. I have both her books and there is nothing in…

There is an app on Facebook that allows you to upload a full length pic of yourself and they will alter it to show you what you might look like at up to 50 pounds lighter. I read about it in Self Magazine, and I went to upload my pic. I think that this could be a great motivational tool. Put your "after" pic on the fridge…

On rest days or days when i miss a workout, I'll eat around 1200. The rest of the time I stick to 1500.

I do this to myself also. I'll lose about 20 pounds and then backslide until I end right back where I started. The best advice I heard was that everyday you have to make a conscious decision to change and renew that commitment every day. I used to resent the fact that I would have to watch what I eat my entire life. Now I…

I also defected from SP. It is way easier to track here. Welcome!

Does it matter how big of a deficit I create with exercise if I have over 100 pounds to lose? I eat 1500 calories a day most days. I don't eat back my exercise calories, but I do take a high calorie day on Sunday where I go up to 2000 calories. According to my HRM, when I work out for an hour i burn almost 800 calories. I…

The Zumba class that I took was fun! It incorporates a lot of different dance types. I burned about 480 calories during the one hour class.
