I'm a perfect example of somebody who did this the old fashioned way... no surgery and no drugs. I've lost 110 pounds in approximately 11 months. I also have severe degenerative arthritis which makes my exercise choices very limited. I watch what I eat and I swim 60 minutes a day, 6 days a week. I've posted a success story…

I buy my wife flowers and deliver them to her office myself. Then I make dinner and have it waiting for her when she gets home from work. All I want is to see her in some lingerie! >:)

Great job! Thank you for sharing your success!

My weight loss has been pretty significant. I have been on MFP for 201 days (approximately 29 weeks) and have dropped 76 pounds which equates to 2.6 pounds per week or 0.38 pounds per day. I have MFP set up for about a 1.9 pounds per week loss, but I have been exercising a lot more than I have accounted for in my MFP setup.

All of my exercise is swimming, so this time of year is VERY tough to go to the gym. The pool is going to be colder (even though it's an indoor pool) and I know I'm going to be cold when I leave the gym. My daily trip to the gym has just become habit and I know that I won't make my ultimate goal if I don't get my exercise…

Donuts are my kryptonite! You have much stronger willpower than I do. I probably would have dove face first into that box!

47 pounds is between an elephants heart and a small bale of hay. Not bad!!!

You hit the nail on the head with setting mini-goals! It's kind of like the saying... How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! I have done the same thing with setting mini-goals. I started out with 110 pounds to drop. When I looked at that number as a whole, it freaked me out. I have been breaking it down into 10…

I have to go shopping for a new belt and new jeans (again) this weekend. The jeans I bought a month ago are already to big on me and I can take them off without unbuttoning or unzipping them. A new wardrobe is a definite benefit of dropping this much weight!

Can I get you to talk my wife into that for me? Your husband is one lucky guy!!!

Due to some severe knee injuries and back pain, my exercise options were limited. Like you, I used those as excuses to not do anything. Once I finally did start moving, I chose to swim. I started small. I was lucky if I could swim 5 laps in the pool. Now, after being active on MFP for just over 100 days and doing swimming…

I had the same kind of problem. By the end of the work day, I had very little energy to go to the gym and swim. I find that eating a protein bar at about 3:00 pm gives me enough to get me through the gym until I get home for dinner. Good luck...!!!

WOW!!! Congratulations on your success! Your fiancé is one lucky guy! You look absolutely stunning in your wedding dress! I hope you have a phenomenal wedding day! Dan

Last year, I was at a large grocery store that had a self-serve donut area in the bakery. I saw a little kid walk up, open the glass doors to the donuts, pick up one donut, LICK IT, and then put it back on the shelf. From then on, I became very picky about where I get my donuts from!

About 6 years ago, I was dating a woman that was my coworker. We were on vacation walking on the beach and she stopped, looked at me and said "I just don't think I can deal with your weight issue". While she said this, she was poking me in the chest and stomach. That was about the lowest I have ever felt in my life!

I had several NSV's this week... 1. Today will be day seven in a row that I have been to the gym! 2. I wore dress pants to work, and they were comfortable, that haven't fit me in about 2 years. 3. I had to drill another hole in my belt because it was just getting to loose to do its job! 4. I had to buy new jeans this week…
-
No... not the boobs!!! :( Seriously though, you look great and congratulations! Who would have thought that pain from a workout could feel so good!
-
My NSV just happened this morning... I have lost 26 pounds and been on MFP for 65 days. Due to severe knee injuries, my exercise is limited to swimming. I swim a minimum of 1 hour at least 5 days a week. This morning when I was getting dressed for work, I decided to try on a pair of black dress pants that have been hanging…
