  • I didn't know the Bob's bars existed and seeing that picture, now I really want to try them! I've had the Enjoy Life Chocolate Marshmallow bar. It's okay but it's really crispy and I can't taste any marshmallow. I know the bar says crispy on it but I was hoping it was only kind of crispy like a rice krispie treat instead…
  • Behold my huge weight spike after yesterday's 3655 calorie day of fun; ~1478 calories over my maintenance for the day. I'm also due for my TOM tomorrow, so I'm sure that helped. Out of curiosity, I weighed myself when I got home from work and was already back down to 112.6.
  • If it works, it works! Many people can get away with not logging meticulously and lose on a consistent basis. You also most likely have a better grasp on portion sizing than the average user. I'll be the first to admit that I try to be as precise as humanly possible with my logging and I can definitely afford not to be…
  • That's true and I agree, but a lot of the entries are too generic for this to apply here. If I purchase Eggland's Best eggs and they are 50g per egg but my egg weighs 56 grams, I'm going to put in 1.12 servings in my diary if there's no gram option as 56/50 is 1.12 and I'm sure you'd do the same. However, the OP's diary…
  • Another encouraging, woo filled first post from a user who has been around since 2012/2013 but just happened to have never posted on the forums until this thread. Kpaing121...bluetiger21. Yeah, I'm analyzing this that deeply.
  • Agreed. OP, I didn't know your diary was open so I took a look; I guess I was understanding your comment correctly. However, there seems to be no evidence to the claim that you weigh your food. Also, if you were truly eating that calorie amount, you would have lost weight. I'm a 5'3", 109 pound woman and I even lose weight…
  • Agreed. Some people really went above and beyond to help this person even though they knew deep down something was amiss. I've been around this site for a while; ten years overall and actively posting since June 2015. Whenever there is a post here about someone plateauing, I know what the answer most likely is. It's a…
  • Am I understanding this comment correctly? 1571 calories per day on average for a year and you haven't lost any weight?
  • I found an old entry when I googled it that says it's 120 calories for .75 cups (27g). Since the bottom left corner of the box says 1 cup serving, I guess those nutritional facts still apply since 120 cals for .75 cups would be 160 cals for one cup, so 36g maybe?
  • To be honest I thought it was kpaing using a new account but then I saw that they have been a member since 2013. I wonder what made them choose this as the first post. Maybe it actually is kpaing...
  • Oddly enough, this is the kind of false advice kpaing would have latched onto had they not deleted their account. However, @Panini911 is correct; they were definitely eating too many calories.
  • I saw that post too and I never knew they even existed the first time around! I'm not much of a cereal eater, but usually anything with chocolate and peanut butter catches my eye so I'm not sure how I missed it.
  • I'm so glad someone said it. Sometimes I have the tendency to be too blunt on the boards and I upset this poster once after they posted several odd threads in a day about a month ago. They posted a thread asking if it was bad to eat late at night. Me: Yes, it's a myth. You've started a lot of threads today. You made a post…
  • If you know exactly how this stuff works, why are you bringing up a lawsuit that has little to nothing to do with the OP's post? The huge lawsuit against Fitbit was about how its PurePulse sensors on the Charge HR and Surge are not always consistent/accurate during intense physical activity; the lawsuit had nothing to do…
  • Sure. On PC: Click on that little "i" information icon underneath where it says Fitbit calorie adjustment. (Will edit this post on my phone to show the mobile way in a minute.) On mobile:
  • In fact, here are my own stats. I'm 5'3" and 109 pounds. My calorie goal is for maintenance and not set at a deficit. I set myself as sedentary on MFP even though I know I'm not and I let my Fitbit make all the calorie adjustments. Before I synced my Fitbit just now, this is what I had: I have passed MFP's sedentary…
  • This means that according to the activity level you chose for yourself on MFP, MFP expects that you will burn a total of 2372 calories today without any additional exercise. Fitbit expects you to burn 2399 calories today based on your stats and how much you've moved today thus far. As you can see, the two values are fairly…
  • As you said, it's only been a week. Also you're exercising and if that's new for you, you are most likely retaining water. Weight loss takes time and patience.
  • Even if you do scan, make sure the nutritional info on MFP's entry matches the nutritional info for the item you scanned. On top of that, weigh the item and compare it to the gram weight listed per serving. So if you eat a prepackaged 50g item, but it weighs 54g, you'd log it as 1.08 servings since 54/50 = 1.08
  • Because of your post I ordered the sampler box of these AND the Coffee Fit bars. I love protein bars with coffee so it's interesting to see ones are made to go with them. I can't wait to try them; the texture looks great in your pictures.
  • If ACV helped with weight loss, nobody would need to lose weight.
  • This isn't true at all. Many users here have Fitbits and they have been accurate enough for them, myself included. There have also been reports of fitness trackers, specifically Fitbit, over/underestimating by ~ 200 calories which isn't too bad considering all of the variables. No fitness tracker will be 100% accurate…
  • Agreed! I understand everyone is trying to help but telling the OP to eat more or eat more calorie dense foods is horrible advice. From experience, when people post here that they're eating so little and seeing no results for a long period of time there is a logging issue; it's always a logging issue. Some even swear they…
  • I did read carefully and I don't think your English is weak at all; I understand you perfectly. What I'm saying is that with regard to the issue the poster is having, meal timing isn't relevant. The majority of the time when someone is saying they've been eating at a deficit and the scale hasn't moved, the issue lies in…
  • Eating frequency itself does not have an effect on weight loss. Whether someone eats one meal a day and no snacks or grazes throughout the day, as long as they are in a calorie deficit over time, they will lose weight.
  • Except meal timing doesn't really apply here, as it's not going to affect whether or not the OP loses weight. Meal timing isn't the reason the OP isn't seeing the scale move. Also, OP, your said your diary was public but it isn't. Logging errors are quite easy to make even though it's not the intention. I see that you've…
  • Agreed and even then, if someone naturally eats a high protein diet why should they change that? I'm 109 pounds and my protein intake is usually 140g per day; it's rarely less than that. I don't force that amount either as it's just how I naturally eat. Protein makes me feel satiated, I still hit my fat requirements and…
  • Knowing that even if you're in the red, you still may be in a deficit. Say you set yourself up to lose one pound per week which is a deficit if 500 calories per day. If you go over your calorie goal by 300 calories, it doesn't mean you won't lose any weight at all; you're just in less of a deficit for the day. Do you beat…
  • Agreed. I'm also 109 pounds (5'3") and my TDEE is 1900 to 2400 calories per day on average. Granted I'm quite active, but my BMR is approx 1260. Unless someone has a severe medical issue that makes them an anomaly, I can't imagine them gaining weight on 1200 calories.
  • GENDER: Female CURRENT WEIGHT: 109 pounds GOAL WEIGHT: I don't really have one but I try to keep my weight at 110 to 115 pounds. WORKOUT FREQUENCY: I do my formal workouts for 45 minutes to an hour six mornings per week and I teach a 45 minute fitness and dance class at my job twice per week. I also walk around a lot…
