Seriously, thank you for such an entertaining topic! So many laughs ... I thought of another: I must have been about 6 or 7 and got a splinter in one of my fingers and refused to let my dad take it out. He was brandishing a HUGE needle and some thread and he made me cry (I still hate needles). So he told me, "Fine, but…

Hey, we were the Andrews Sisters too (3 of us) and not a one of us can carry a tune. Oh, and my mom made our doll and barbie clothes and even taught us how to do the same. Here I thought we were unique!

Too many to recount, but here's one... we were a large family with a small income so she sewed much of our clothing. Everyone knew the Andrews kids were related - we had matching outfits. But hey, I rocked those red denim bell bottomed hip huggers!

Wow, everyone is really working hard, and it sounds like it's paying off! When I grow up on MFP I want to be just like y'all. My update: Third weigh-in tomorrow morning *fingers crossed* and hoping to continue the downward progress. I have sped up my walking pace from 20 mins per mile to just over 14 mins (and that is…

It puts a big smile on your face, and you feel like you're walking around with a fabulous secret! Although, so far I'm only seeing it disappear in my bra! :grumble:

All of the above are wonderful. Tilapia is such a light and versatile fish. I brush with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, paprika and crushed red pepper flakes. Then grill. Love to serve with brown rice and steamed veggies, or make fish tacos. Yum! I pan seared cod last night and it was delish ... now you've made me…

Salmon any way (grilled, baked, sauteed, poached, you name it), spicy grilled or panko crusted tilapia, cod, mahi mahi, swordfish, macadamia crusted opa ... oh, I could go on and on. Now I'm REALLY hungry. Fish for dinner tonight! Oh, and check out Memphis Dust rub on grilled shrimp! (www.amazingribs.com) Did I mention…

Me too!!! I season it almost exactly the same and serve with brown rice. Now I'm hungry ...

I am vicariously enjoying your bacon moment!

Wow, our history is quite similar! I was always active, fitness instructor, spin instructor, triathlons and running, running, running! Then started a new job that sucked me in and took all my time. Next thing you know I'm getting sports injuries and then a broken back! No smoking, but definitely have become very…

This is funny! My husband also ... but I remind him that soon he will be telling me how hot I am again!!

Truly, we're not "dieting," but we're making life changes to improve our health. That being said, this is how life is and we all need to figure out ways to deal with situations like this. There are some good suggestions here too. My opinion is that family is first. (I could NEVER turn down an invitation like that ... I…

Not that I am a vet, but welcome! I have the phone app too and I think I may be addicted to it!

So encouraging to read everyone's progress and see you all keeping at it each day! First weigh-in today, down three pounds! I know it's probably mostly water but hey, it still made me feel good. Also, my walking pace has sped up. I started at a 20-minute mile two weeks ago, and today I'm allllllllmost up to a 15-minute…

Aha, I found my age group! Today marks one week that I've been logging my food and exercise. I have been brutally honest with myself (for a change) and I think MFP will be a great tool for me. So one week in, and even though I had to miss two days of exercise due to a nasty cold, I don't think I've done too poorly. I am…
