I agree with the original poster. I use real butter and full fat cheeses. I do no fat greek yogurt and lowfat milk and cottage cheese. Overall, my rule is natural over chemicals. I do choose low fat proteins for the most part and I use low fat dressings, but only the ones with yogurt that are natural. Sugar and excess fats…

How did your surgery go today? My husband is feeling good after his this morning. He as very sleepy most of the day, but is now up and moving well and hopes to come home tomorrow.

I sent you a request! My vsg was 3/18, but my husband is having his the same day as you.

Good Job! I am WAAAAAAYYYYY far from Onederland, but I am only about 15 pounds from my lowest adult weight and that is my next goal. It is so exciting knowing that it will happen! Congrats!

Speaking of egg whites, jay Robb makes an egg white protein mix that I have seen at GNC. http://www.jayrobb.com/protein/egg-white-protein-vanilla.asp

Have you tried soy protein or hemp protein? Can you do soft foods like eggs and tuna? Ricotta?

My surgery was 3/18 and that's against all of my rules too. I still need to do 60 grams at least of protein and when I was concerned about fiber, my nutritionist said not to worry about it unless there was...ummm...bathroom trouble. And I think I have had one piece of toast and one piece of pizza and that's about it. I eat…

My daughter's birthmom gave me chocolates for Mother's Day. She didn't know about the surgery, but I told her about it that day. I ate a few over a couple of days and then sent them to the office with the hubby....THAT was hard to do!

My husband is scheduled for June 3rd (I was March 18). So exciting!

Another one here who welcomes new friends and open diaries! I had surgery on 3/18 and am down about 40 pounds, but 25 of it fell off the first 2 weeks and the 3rd and 4th week it barely moved. Still plugging away little by little. We all lose differently, just as we all start and different weights and heights and plans.

At three weeks out, I would just bring a couple protein shakes and maybe a small cooler with something you can eat - egg salad maybe and a fork? Then I would just eat a bit in the car and not get anything at the fast food place. Then, at the buffet place, drink a shake and visit. If people do not know about your surgery…

Yes, sounds like you over ate a bit, or ate something a little too dense for your sleeve. I've done that twice and hope to never do it again.

I was 3/18 and I am down about 40 pounds post-op. No problems or issues and I feel great. I need to exercise more....life gets in the way, but I need to prioritize me a little (and get to bed early so I can get up and work out before hubby goes to work...easier said than done!) I started in a size 26 and now and fit into…

Yep. The pounds were LEAPIN' OFF MY BODY for the first 3 weeks, then nothing for almost 2 weeks. Now, about 7 weeks post-op, it's slow, but moving a little again. I need to figure out how to get them leaping again. Overall, the pounds per week is still a high number and it's a great deal more than without the sleeve. Hang…

You will do great! I'll b watching for your update. Best advice - get up walking around as soon as you can and as often as you can. If your doctor says you can go home in one night and you want two, then stay two. I stayed two and was so happy I did.

It's a, "Stupid Whine," because I know I would not be losing this quickly without the sleeve. Previous weight loss attempts have me at about 8-10 pounds a month. I just had a goal in my head based on other people who had a starting weight of quite a bit less than me and it's not happening. Oh well.

I had surgery the same day as you and sent a friend request. I saw your post about fruit and fruit is not allowed on my plan at all because of the sugar. I do the Nectar protein in fuzzy navel and I like the lemonade flavor too. The vanilla and chocolate that I loved pre-surgery were not working, so I changed it up. I love…

My liquid diet was only 48 hours and it was clear liquids and protein only. It was tough and I had a really bad headache with it but it was only a couple days. You can do it!

Hello! I am only about 4 weeks out, but my sister also has wls a couple years ago. I know a favorite restaurant of hers is Qdoba. She gets the combo where you can do 2 things and she makes 2 meals out of it (a mini naked burrito with no rice, and then she may do tacos too). For lunches to bring with you, how about meat,…

12 years ago I lost nearly 80 pounds with diet and exercise. This loss only put me into a size 22. I was ecstatic, but I was still quite heavy. Then over a couple years, I gained it back. Two years ago I started on mfp and lost nearly 60 pounds in 6 months. Then I gained it back. My weight all of my adult life has been…

I was on liquids only for 2 weeks and am now almost 4 weeks. With fully pureed and lighter purees (thin soups, etc), I could get about 1/3 cup in at 2 weeks. Pureed chili, pureed boiled egg with avocado, and things like that, I could only do less than 1/4 cup. Now, at nearly 4 weeks, I can eat an entire egg and do about…

I'm Michelle and I was sleeved on March 18th, so almost 4 weeks out. Glad to be on this board with others going through the same thing!

Mine did not get submitted to insurance until my psych and dietician and primary physician's exam was submitted. I had it all submitted with one carrier in October and never heard anything for months. January 1 my insurance changed and I figured I would have to do it all again. They required a few things that took a couple…

I'm just a little ahead of you - sleeved on the 18th. Best of luck and I will look forward to seeing updates!

Hello and thank you for your post! I am just a few days post op and starting to feel great. I will be looking to you for the future stuff. I love that you are doing so much exercise! That is awesome! There are so many classes I have wanted to do, but was too embarrassed to try at my weight. I will start slow with my old…

I'm from GR and sleeved last Tuesday with Dr. Schram. Nice to see other MI people here!

I am right here with you too. I lost 57 pounds last year from Feb-Aug and then proceeded to put back on 35 of those since then. I started again last Wednesday. Log everything. It's the only way. Get exercise where you can. I am home with young children which makes it hard to go to the gym as much as I would like, but I…

Protein powder is about 110 calories per scoop. You could add a little fruit and some plain greek yogurt for a huge protein punch and still keep it low carb/low sugar.
