  • If you go into the reports in your diary, you can change to the weekly report instead of the daily report. Then it will show you your net over/under for the week. That might be where people are seeing their "banked" calories. :)
  • Olive Garden Light Italian - yum!
  • I had weight loss surgery, so until recently, I was eating under 1,000 calories/day. You can still use this site to track your food and monitor your macros. It will just give you a warning at the end of the day, and it won't give you the "If you eat like this every day, you'll weigh x in two weeks" message. Other than…
  • I drink a Premier Protein almost every day. They taste like a chocolate milkshake, fill me up, and have 30 g of protein. Other foods I eat are Greek yogurt, tuna, eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, and lean meats.
  • I gave up soda and caffeine in September in order to have bariatric surgery (no carbonation, no caffeine). I haven't had either one since, and I don't plan to add it back to my diet. I do miss soda sometimes, but I know it's a slippery slope for me. It's the one thing I really can't control, and I know if I have one, I'm…
  • You are an amazing inspiration! You look fantastic!!
  • Kale . . . I know it's good for you, but it tastes terrible!! I have tried to like it, but I just can't. BLECK. Creamed vegetables . . . especially creamed corn. GROSS. It smells terrible, looks terrible, tastes terrible. I don't get it.
  • Great job! You should be very, very proud of yourself!! :)
  • Pinterest has a lot of great meal prep recipes. Pretty much you do a protein, a veggie, and a starch and you're golden! It's actually pretty easy to prep on Sundays for the whole week, too! :)
  • Frozen, prepackaged food isn't actually very budget friendly! For breakfast, I think eggs are about the most economical, healthy choice you can make. Oatmeal is also a great choice - it's cheap, easy to make, and you can flavor it with all kinds of things. For lunches, I usually eat leftovers from the night before. It's…
  • BUT . . . carbs are the devil! JK! Congratulations on your success! :)
  • You can lose weight on low-carb/high-carb, low-fat/high-fat . . . do what works for you!! I'm low-ish carb right now because I had gastric sleeve in September, and it's working well for me. I feel like I have fewer cravings, and I don't have as many energy peaks and valleys. I'm also a person who tends to get full on…
  • I had bariatric surgery, so I have to eat periodically even if I'm not hungry now. I physically can't eat enough to sustain myself if I wait until I am hungry (which only happens like once a day now). Before surgery, though, I did better when I ate regularly even if I wasn't hungry. I've always been bad about forgetting to…
  • I put off focusing on my own health, so I could focus on other things . . . school, kids, work, etc. I ended up morbidly obese, and feeling like crap. While I didn't have any health related issues yet, I was headed that way. The point of my reply is that you should care about your weight/health. If you're not ready to go…
  • I don't sleep well if I eat a meal right before I go to bed, so my preference would be to eat something small between work and the gym and then eating another small meal/snack after the gym. I'd split it up.
  • It sounds like head hunger to me since you said it is satisfied when you eat a bit of junk food. In my experience, the only way to get past that is to push through it until the cravings pass (sorry, I know that advice sucks - but it worked for me). Play around with your macros - try higher protein, higher fat first and…
  • That's an interesting idea. I had bariatric surgery in September, and it amazes me how I can eat one mini candy bar and be satisfied whereas before I would have eaten like 5. I think it's an interesting way to look at your progress!
  • I'm in for November, and I am going to do 5,000/day. I have a desk job, and I normally end up around 4,000 on the weekdays. :)
  • I have a family of 5, and we spend $150 - $200/week ($600 - $800/month). We live in the midwest, so our costs are a bit lower. We eat pretty well . . . chicken, pork, ground beef. We have steak or seafood sometimes, too. I do make eggs for dinner occasionally (we all like them), and may have sandwiches for dinner one time…
  • I recently had gastric sleeve surgery. If you are considering surgery, it won't hurt to contact a surgeon and go in for an initial appointment. Most insurance companies require a lot of tests and some require a 6 month medically supervised diet and exercise program - it's a long process. I think that surgical intervention…
  • I have two amazing soup recipes - they are filling, cheap to make, they make a ton, and they are great heated up. 7 Can Taco Soup - http://togetherasfamily.com/2016/12/7-can-chicken-taco-soup/?utm_content=buffer0c041&utm_medium=social&utm_source=pinterest.com&utm_campaign=buffer Hamburger soup -…
  • I was sleeved 9/21/17. Feel free to add me!
  • Maybe you should hint that your manager is rude . . . Usually when people belittle others, it's because they are insecure with themselves. I'd just respond to any comments with a direct "Thank you for your opinion."
  • I have three kids and a husband. My husband isn't picky, but he doesn't really like "health" food. My kids like a lot of things, but sometimes they refuse to eat what I cook. I make a variety of foods, and I don't serve things I know they hate (one child gags on potatoes, one hates corn, one thinks strawberries are the…
  • I recalc every week. It doesn't hurt anything to just do it every time you record your weight.
  • I only meal prep our (mine and my husband's) lunches for the week, and it takes me a couple of hours. I pick recipes off Pinterest that involve several ingredients, though . . . you could do it way faster and easier! I love trying new recipes, so I actually enjoy it. I don't meal prep our dinners, but I do use the slow…

  • I grocery shop using Walmart's online service. I love it because 1) it keeps me out of the store and therefore, I avoid impulse purchases and 2) it's super easy to price compare various brands/sizes. It's a great money saver for our family! If your family eats meat, try making a few meatless meals every week. Eggs and…
  • Pepsi. I can drink diet occasionally with no problems, but regular Pepsi is a slippery slope with me. It goes from having one to drinking it 6 times a day. I don't want to spend my calories on drinks, so I have to avoid it completely.
  • Yes, a cheat day or meal can affect your weight loss. That being said, if you are in this for the long haul, you can't be perfect all the time. If you really want the candy, and you feel like you are in control enough to eat a little and then forget about it, go for it. The important thing is that you stay in control of…
