I lost 24lbs-ish in 2012. I thought I had learned enough to keep myself on track and continue at maintenance. I gained some weight. I lost some weight. It was life. A few years later (and several up sizes in clothes) I stepped on a scale and I had gained 30lbs so I feel as though I do not trust myself to hop off logging…

Trying this out... we'll see if it can make a difference for me. Still figuring it all out!

Had to be extra appropriate at the office today! I'm a team roper. (See profile pic) B)

It's 100% insecurity. You're looking smoking hot and he doesn't think you'll want him anymore. It can happen to men who seem to be the most confident.
-
Sounds like he's really insecure. My ex never wanted me to work out because he was so insecure. I inevitably left him because he wasn't supportive of my goals. The wonderful man I am with now is chivalrous as all get out and we have gender roles with certain things (we also break them if needed). But my man would support…

I have an UP24 and I enjoy it. I bought it with the hopes of it motivating me to move more and eat better but I use MFP to log food as the food application on UP is bologna. So far it hasn't helped motivate me to get me moving more but it has made me more aware of my lack of movement and sleep. It's a fun little game to…

I have not had an issue with this and I'm not sure what phone you're using with the device. I googled and found this and I hope it helps you. http://forums.jawbone.com/t5/TROUBLESHOOTING-UP24/Today-I-Will-missing-UP24/m-p/82283#M419

I hope this is a joke.

I get one every year and I've never had the flu *knock on wood*. I do it to protect myself and those around me. I've never been negatively impacted by any vaccine to date and I believe that vaccines are necessary. It's a shame that some people do not believe in them simply for the health of those around them. The reason we…

No thigh gap, no problem. No matter how thick or thin I am, my thighs love one another.

Thought I would join in on this to get some new friends. 5'6" 176lbs. I lost 22lbs in 2012 after college, gained it all back in the last two years. Trying to lost 20lbs again. I have little motivation and a lot of stress. Hopefully this place can motivate me again. Let's kick some butt!

Yeah, but when you've never done a squat before I would think that learning how to keep form and squat all the way would trump engaging your core and stabilizing muscles? That's just my thought. I have no evidence of this. I've just heard some people say that they have compromised their form and their other muscle groups…
-
Just curious as to why you think the smith machine should be avoided? We are talking about the machine that can help you keep good form for squats, right? My friend just showed me how to use this and it seems to help me a lot with my form because I tend to be sloppy with squats.

I've had mine in about a month now. I haven't had any side effects that anyone here has brought up. BUT For the past week or so I have had cramps similar to what I would have if I were about to have Aunt Flo visit, have any of you experienced this?

Just broke up with my boyfriend of 4 1/2 years last night. I hate hurting him and I wish I could take the pain (I am stronger when it comes to these things) and it sucks but I'm not happy. I care about him and I want him to do well and find an amazing girl that accepts every piece of him for who he is. We'll see how this…

I took pics shortly after I lost a couple lbs. They're not so great but it motivates me to create a better "after".

I think I'm in the minority here but I believe I feel skinnier on my period. I do crave a lot of sweets (anything by Reese's PLEASE!) but my jeans are looser and I feel better. But I have never weighed myself so I'm not sure if I actually weight less. But I do get vicious cramps and crazy cravings. Oh and I ALWAYS ALWAYS…

Yeah, I go to the gym and go hard.

grande skinny cafe mocha no whip = 140 cals

I love sweets too. Chocolate or vanilla protein shakes = YUUUUUMMMM

As others have said, if you're going to strength train, increase your protein and calories a little so you can begin to build. Eat back all of your exercise calories and then some. Nuts, lean means, nut butters (not the perverted kind  ) healthy fats and proteins. Get it girl!
-
I think as long as you aren't accidentally falling into old ways then you'll make the right choices. Don't worry so much about what the scale says. Start strength training and I'm pretty positive you'll like what you will see.
-
Agree. I'm 5'6" and I plan on weighing 130lb at my lowest. Perhaps you are thinner built than I am but you should try to add strength training in. I LOOOVE lifting!
