  • How dare businesses try to make money!! Oh wait.........
  • Based off the content of your post, they were probably giving you not-so-pleasant looks because you were giving them not-so-pleasant looks. I'm sorry you're offended/upset/jealous by the fact that these other women were dressed nicely and in shape.

  • It makes life easier in general. Cleaning is easier. Sex is easier (and better). Shopping is easier. You can fit into movie theater seats easier. You can sit on a camp chair without worrying about the weight limit. You can take a walk or a hike on a whim without worrying about getting tired. Gardening is easier. Washing…
  • Yeah.....you don't need to do this.
  • I eat some sugar. Not trying to be snarky, but if I really feel like I need some chocolate to help with my mood swings or whatever, then I have some chocolate. Chocolate (or sugar) won't hurt you (unless you have a medical condition). I refuse to label foods as "good" or "bad", so it's not a big deal to have some of what I…
  • The thing to remember too, is that SHE set the parameters. She is the one who decided what pictures to use as the definition of "bulky". She could have picked female power lifters, body builders, etc, but she picked Jessica Biel. The blogger set the definition in the survey, so she is controlling the result and she is the…
  • I'm taking it with a grain of salt because she is trying to sell something. For that exact reason, my boot camp instructor (who is a body building competitor herself) only has us curling 5lb dumbbells. Women get scared of iron. It makes more financial sense to assuage their fears than it does to try to correct them, I…
  • I think this is the problem with a lot of the arguments about lifting or not. IMO, the blogger's definition of bulky is way off. To me (and a lot of people here) the women she has classified as bulky are decidedly not. They are fit and look strong. They have the body I am working towards. But, I guess there are a lot more…
  • Like CrankMeUp.....I've gotten significantly less bulky from lifting weights. Me, very bulky (about 230lbs): Me, much less bulky (currently 180lbs, still have 20+lbs to goal):
  • Macros are: Carbs Protein Fat Every food fits into one or more of these categories, and they are each important for different reasons. Carbs give you quick energy. Protein helps protect and build muscle. Fat helps your brain and other organs function. You need all three of them, and they are important to track. Micros are…
  • Sodium can be a negative, but there is nothing inherently wrong with Subway. Should you eat it for every meal, every day? Probably not - your diet needs more variety than that. But a sandwich once or twice a week? Certainly not bad as long as it fits in your calorie and macro goals. If you're concerned about the sodium,…
  • I eat whatever I want, as long as it's under my calorie goal and fits my macros. I eat fruit, veggies, lean proteins, healthy fats, whole grains.....and.....ice cream, pop tarts, cereal, pasta, rice, steak, occasional fast food, pizza, cheese, etc. There is no special meal plan - just measure and weigh your food, count…
  • Uh, nope. First, she's not going to build muscle in a deficit. Muscle building is hard - people devote a lot of time to it and only get minimal results. If it were that easy to gain muscle, you wouldn't hear men complaining about how their biceps aren't getting any bigger. Add to that the fact that she's a woman, and it…
  • I used to call myself big boned. It was one of the many lies I told myself about why it was okay to be fat. While there are some people with larger frames, that does not mean you are doomed to always be heavy. It can be hard to even imagine being smaller. When I weighed 230lbs, I only wanted to lose 20lbs. I literally…
  • I explained "Last Dance With Mary Jane" to all my friends when we were about 12. They really thought it was about a guy missing his girlfriend. Also, a friend told me that she and her boyfriend had picked "Brick" by Ben Folds Five as "their" song. Her mind was blown when I explained what that song was really about.
  • I thought this for a very, very, very, very long time. My family would have me sing this song at every holiday gathering. I thought they were appreciating my musical ability, but it turns out that was not the case. Lol.
  • When I cook it, it never really gets brown, per se. It just gets a darker yellow and crispy on the outside.
  • This. I eat Dannon Light & Fit Greek. 80 calories per cup, 12g of protein. You could have 2 for 160 cals and 12g of protein. They're pretty cheap and you can probably find coupons online or in a sales flyer.
  • Listen to the man with the pretty abs. He knows what he's talking about.
  • You need to talk to a professional. Please do this now, so you can have a chance at a brighter future.
  • ^This. I don't use gloves either because it messes with my grip. I have some liquid chalk though, which helps. Calluses are awesome. I love mine, lol! I lotion my hands quite a bit, so you can't see them, but you can definitely feel them. They are proof of my awesomeness.
  • What do you think that Shakeology is going to do for you that you can't achieve with a moderate calorie deficit and a reasonable exercise program?

  • I don't eat lettuce. At all. Ever. I get my tacos from Taco Bell sans lettuce. I pull the lettuce off my hamburger bun. I never order iceberg wedge salads. Or any salad with iceberg in it. I like spinach though. I always keep some of that handy and will eat a spinach salad a few times a week, usually. Arugala is nice too.…
  • Your body needs fuel. Eat back the exercise calories - that's how MFP was designed to work. And why would you not want more food to eat???? Food is delicious and tasty and filling and wonderful.
  • What kind of races are they? If they are a fundraiser for charity, you could raise enough money to cover your entry fees and make a donation to the charity. If they aren't, then it would be a little trickier to find someone to pay for your entry fees.
  • I use Chucks. Yes, I would probably see a little more benefit from lifting shoes, but I don't have the money for them right now. At $100+, I can't justify the purchase. I got a pair of Chucks for $25 and they work pretty well. I try really hard to watch my form and watch Rip's videos all the time to make sure I'm doing it…
  • Like everyone else has said, hormones, testosterone, and muscle mass. Also, guys don't get all emotional and flustered over the dieting & weight loss process (typically, that is). If my husband decides to lose a few pounds, he cuts back on his eating for a few days. He doesn't obsess about it, he doesn't fret and worry…
  • Try slowing down your pace a little.
  • Agreed Seriously though, it's amazing how much different "our" measurements are vs. actual measurements. What I thought was a serving (2T) of PB was actually like 2 servings. A food scale saved my diet. It makes all the difference in the world to actually know how much you are eating.
