All of this.

The thing is, people who are "thin" are vigilant about what they put in their mouths. My step mom has never been overweight a day in her life. She watches what she eats. There are days when she eats more than normal, and days when she eats less. But for the most part, she is careful and chooses only to eat exactly what she…

So, we should only answer/respond to the 2nd post? As long as it's not the first one it's ok?

I just can't even explain how excited I am for sjohnny's birthday today!
-
All I have to say is - WOW! Those ladies are awesome. And strong is definitely sexy

What do you believe that shakeology can do for you that a reasonable calorie deficit cannot?
-
How long have you been logging? Do you log everything you eat, every day? Hormones can cause weight fluctuation as well - is it time for your cycle? Have you started a new exercise routine? Did you eat a lot of high sodium foods?
-
I haven't done Run or Dye, but I did Color in Motion - and they're all pretty much the same thing. There were lots and lots of kids at Color in Motion. They don't time the race and most people walk. There were barely any people actually running at the 5k I did. They also released people in waves to help cut down on the…

Your muscles are retaining fluid from a new exercise program. When you exercise, you are literally tearing your muscle fibers. That causes your muscles to hang on to water to help repair those tears. That causes the scale to go up. Also, being female, you will be susceptible to hormonal fluctuations that cause weight gain.…

Then you need to keep tracking 100% of the time and wait. If you've only been giving it 100% for the past week, that's probably not enough time for a change in measurements. That lack of 25% previously is what has been holding you back.
-
Are you tracking your food every day? Every single thing you eat? Do you weigh and measure all of your food?
-
The bloating is probably from sodium. Do you track your sodium? Smoked salmon, packaged veggie burgers, hummus, etc. can all have high sodium levels.

I think you need to talk to your doctor. The symptoms you are describing are not a normal reaction to exercise.

Happy Birthday!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! So glad your special day is finally here!!!!!
-
I would suggest that you talk to a nutritionist to help determine an eating plan that is appropriate for you and your goals.
-
Yes, he is. He likes cats too:

All this talk about mouth to mouth reminded me of that one time that sjohnny saved that dog by doing CPR on it. That was a great day. So, have your dogs wish him happy birthday too! He's a total animal lover!!

Getting old (not older....we all get older, but he's actually getting OLD) is very difficult. If he's curt or mean, we all apologize for him. He's really struggling with this process. But, at his core, he does love the acknowledgement. And he needs it - all of the support MFP can offer will help him get through the rough…

And because he's a manly man who knows his way around the grill (and kitchen): Seriously, this is his breakfast every day:
-
Just so everyone can get an idea of who this special man is, I've included some pictures that represent him: As you can see, he is both sweet and grumpy at the same time. That's why we love him so.

IN! I really couldn't have achieved my goals without sjohnny's support. He's like the grandpa I never had. I know that I can turn to him anytime I need advice on running, lifting, p*ssing people off......or whenever I need a Werther's Original and some old-timey stories. He's so great like that. Happy Birthday Grandpa…

When you say that you started doing squats, what exactly do you mean by that? How much weight were you using? Did you research form first? How many sets/reps did you do? And when you say that you have pain in your back - is it actual pain or are you sore?

I'm sorry that you have issues with other people being proud of their success and wanting to receive a little attention for it. Personally, yes, I do want attention for the things I've accomplished. As do other people. Why do you think that's a negative thing? Don't we all like a little approval now and then? And where…

Excellent post!

Congrats on your improved physical and mental strength!! :)

Lose weight. They will get smaller, trust me. You may think your calves are big, but you still have a long way to go until your goal weight. Your calves still have fat on them. So, you need to lose that fat in order to get smaller calves. Specific exercises won't target fat loss. Just keep a moderate calorie deficit and…
