There are plenty of workout videos on Amazon Prime or on Youtube. You can probably check some out from your local library as well. As far as snacks go, I like jerky, string cheese, fruit (apples, bananas, clementines, grapes, etc), Laughing cow wedges wrapped in prosciutto, lunch meat slices, nuts, hummus, granola bars,…

You can't really spot-tone or spot-reduce fat. And in 2 months, you may see some progress, but don't be disappointed if it's not what you're picturing in your head. I just want you to be aware that realistic expectations are needed. That said, you'll get the most "bang for your fitness buck" with compound lifting. Looking…

You're probably not really stuck. After looking at your diary, I'm going to suggest that your lack of weight loss is probably just fluid retention from excess sodium. Try reducing your sodium and see if that helps. And if not, just keep going. We all have weeks where we don't lose. You've been pretty successful so far and…

Agreed. Weight fluctuates. Sometimes, you'll have weeks where you don't lose. And it gets trickier around holidays and celebrations. But that's life.....it's messy and not always simple. What do you do in other areas of your life when things get hard? Do you give up? I doubt it. You probably work through it, make the best…

I don't have much advice to offer......just that maybe you are retaining fluid from lifting and that's masking your weight loss? I would suggest you look up the group "Eat, Train, & Progress" and see if they can help.

Your logging looks pretty good. When did you start lifting? What program are you using?
-
Umm, ok.
-
Can you open your diary?
-
Sounds like you're off to a good start!

<Probably the wrong person to offer advice here. Love my legs. I get compliments on them all the time. And I can rock some high heels. :drinker: I haven't done much to get these legs. These are my genetics. I lift weights, but I'm in a deficit, so this is all me, reducing the fat over them through exercise. I get that…

Eat if want, don't eat if you don't. It really doesn't matter. I prefer (usually) not to eat in the mornings. I'm not hungry and I'd rather save the calories for ice cream at night. You can't expect linear loss. Be prepared for the scale to bounce around a little. Look for overall trends, rather than small blips.
-
How are you figuring out how much you are eating? Do you use a food scale? I also noticed a lot of entries that said "generic" or "homemade". I would avoid those. If you're making roasted carrots, make a recipe for them and then weigh out a portion. It's much more accurate than assuming that someone else roasted a carrot…

You can gain weight from eat "healthy" or "regularly" - all it takes is a calorie surplus. Quitting smoking didn't slow down your metabolism. It's more likely that you were overeating. Can you open your diary? You logged every single day? Without fail? And kept a deficit every single day for the past 3 months? Did you…

Exactly. I love me some cardio and I run several times a week. But give me a bar and some heavy weights and I'm a happy girl because I want a nice butt. And nice legs. And nice arms, etc, etc, etc. OP - I think you are making this way too complicated.
-
     You are awesome. Nuff said. :flowerforyou:

 *Looks at self* I mean, I'm not skinny yet. But I'm not really fat anymore either. And I eat protein products. Bars, shakes, etc. I also eat like 2000 calories a day.
-
The people who buy that stuff will be the same ones insisting that peanut butter is an *excellent* source of protein too. But hey, whatever, I guess.
-
Sounds like you're having some body image issues. That combined with your post about self-loathing yesterday is going to make me suggest that you find a support group or professional to talk to. I think you're dealing with some emotional issues about your weight and you need some help with that.

Look into what the leash laws are in your area and report the owner, if possible. I'm a dog lover but I do not like irresponsible owners. If I'm being chased (like last night!), I turn around and yell very firmly and loudly, at the dog. Something like "NO" or "STOP", etc. I will also throw a rock at the dog's feet if…

Personally, I would invest in some free weights. A bench, a squat rack, a bar and some plates to get started. Look around on Craigslist and you can usually find that stuff pretty cheap. I wouldn't invest in cardio equipment, because you can go outside to walk or run. If outside isn't an option, there are lots of good…

How we think you look isn't important. How you *feel* is. Do you feel like you need to lose weight? Do you feel like you could improve your health and fitness? Subjective opinions about your body aren't going to help you. Setting personal goals and striving to meet them will. Do that for yourself and no one else. Congrats…

I like you.

Before we start jumping into "medical explanations", how about we rule out things like human error, inconsistent logging, lack of effort, etc? Not everyone has a medical issue. Some people just don't put in the work.

^This.

"extremely common" "unlikely to happen" Which is it?

I always get fajitas. Steak, peppers, onions. I control the amount of cheese and sour cream I put on them. Lots of salsa. Corn tortillas. YUM. Now I want fajitas
-
Yep. That said, I try to eat a lot of lower calories, high nutrient foods - veggies, fruit, lean protein, etc, because I get more volume for my calories. 100 calories of chicken is going to keep me feeling full longer than 100 calories of chips. But because I eat a lot of the lower calories stuff, I almost always have room…

Have you tried counting calories? Tracking all of your food and weighing and measuring it?

Eat when it works for you. Breakfast will not "jump start" your metabolism or help you lose weight. I very, very rarely eat breakfast. I might have a snack midmorning, but I usually wait to eat till around noon. It works for me.
