Welcome to MFP! With a full schedule like that, maybe try to take a walk after lunch? That's what I do when I'm having a busy day & don't have time for a regular workout. If I walk 20 min @ 3mph, I can burn like 75 calories. 20 min @ 3.5mph, at least 100! And I think the pedal pusher is a great idea, I think I'm gonna get…

Bumping to copy recipe later. Sounds delish!! :)

An entire red velvet cake. And/or a Monte Cristo.

To the "men are men" trolls on this thread: It's almost 2013. Boys can play with dolls, too. It's a normal behavior and shows nurturing qualities. Girls can play with erector sets and toy cars. Please, I beg of you, evolve already. To the OP: Be proud of your son who is showing nurturing, caring qualities. He sounds like a…

Occasionally I feel HAWT, like when I have a little NSV e.g. slimmer waist or a dress looks good. But I still have a lot of "yuck" days. I think maybe those will eventually decrease, hopefully with an increase in "hawt" days. But it's still hard to change the mindset after ages of being unhappy with my appearance.

Oh yeah, when I worked for a retail company, our holiday "bonus" was a 30% coupon (our regular discount was 20% off). And we could only use it once and it was only good for a few days so you had to use it or lose it. Arghhh!

At a previous job we'd periodically have "team appreciation" lunches or parties -- that we all had to pay for out of our own pockets. Oh great, I love forking over $10 to $15 for a catered meal of soggy fried chicken and watery pasta (it was always the same food)!

I am so sorry about your kitty. Losing a pet is devastating. As is depression. For me: I try to deal with it by taking a walk, doing something creative/arts&crafts, bubble bath, reading a funny light-hearted book, physical activity (good when angry too, to have emotional outlet), counting things I'm grateful for, or just…

Hi, I'm Emily. I am 33 and live in Chicago, IL. Single, no kids, 1 cat. :) I work in administration/marketing for an engineering & architecture firm. My goal is to lose 25-30 lbs. So far I've lost 6 lbs. Looking for supportive motivating friends & I am supportive/motivating in return. Good luck, everyone! We can do it!

I love this idea!! I like that even though I was feeling blah/tired today, I was productive at work and took a mini-walk after lunch.

Haha, this made me laugh. Love it! I like mine to match in general because I find coordinating fun. However, it's not because I care what men I don't even know think of my appearance. If I'm dating him, yes, then he gets to see it and take it off. ;) If not, they'll just have to live with the mystery (read: pie hole shut,…

How much bail money should I save up?

To each his/her own. Do what works for you. As others stated, I too have an office job. I have my TDEE set accordingly (basic). I don't log my normal walks from desk to copier, train station to work, work to lunch, etc.--but I of course log my "work-out" walks on nights & weekends. Ditto with cleaning. I don't log 5…

Thank you for posting this. And thank you for being concise, patient and nice. I still have questions but I tend to not ask on public forums... because I'm still new to the fitness world & often feel confused about calculations, and get discouraged when people make me feel like an idiot for asking questions. "What don't…

Oooh, I must try! Thanks!

Hi, I worked in Human Resources for years so here are my two cents: If it's an at-will employment (as in, you're not under contract), then yes, you can quit or be terminated at any time. However, if you intend to use them as a future job reference, it will be more favorable for you to give notice. If 2 more weeks are too…

My first name is Emily and I love it! :) I didn't love it growing up... thought it was old-fashioned. But now I do. And who knew that later on, for ten years straight, it would be the #1 name for baby girls? (I was named after Suzanne Pleshette's character on the Bob Newhart Show.)
