I would need to disagree with this statement... I've lost considerable amounts of fat with 30 minute increments of cardio. However, after I started losing regularly, I started adding in circuit training and yoga. I've found that the combination works best for me. But the first few months I lost consistently with just…

Clif Builder's Bar - 20 grams of protein. The mint one is really good. Fage greek yogurt - I buy plain and add my own honey and a touch of vanilla extract or cinnamon.

Fresh fruit, veggies, yogurt, tomato juice, shrimp, grilled fish, chicken... Carribean has many healthy choices. Don't worry, be happy:)

Greek yogurt, apples, LUNA bars or Cliff Builder bars, bags of almonds, Kashi Go Lean Crunch (pre-packaged bowls), bags of baby carrots or celery, muscle milk - are all nutritionally dense foods that travel well - and are good for snacking. When you get to your destinations, Breakfast: Hard boiled eggs, english muffin,…

First of all, from your photos, you are a beautiful girl. You appear to be overweight, but are still very attractive. In my opinion, your problem is more with your self-concept and lack of self-esteem than with your appearance. I was fortunate to be thin as a child, teen, and young adult. I didn't start gaining until I was…

I've looked at your diary and your fat intake is WAY too low. You need fat in order for your body to process the foods. Think of it like a car - which needs oil - or the engine will seize. You should try to add healthy fats (almonds, olives, olive oil, avacado, etc.) Try to stay close to your macros. They are there as a…

WOW. You have done a great job. You look awesome - you are obviously happy, and so much healthier. Thank you for sharing.

I also don't like to get up early, but I've found that if I don't work out in the morning, my day can just pass me by... I'm often too tired after dinner and have found that evening work-outs energize me and then I have trouble falling asleep. I'm forcing myself to get out of bed while the kids are still asleep to work out…

Yoga Now - Rodney Yee and Muriel Hemmingway - it has 4 workouts. Morning energizer, evening de-stressor, Core, and Advanced. It also has modified poses for beginners.

I always buy the 0% - FAGE. I get plenty of fat from olive oil (which I use to sautee my vegetables and meat), almond butter, light cream cheese, cheese, real butter, and meat/fish. I prefer to have more control over my fat intake - buying nonfat yogurt and nonfat milk provide me more flexibility with my meal planning. I…

i love roasted beets but have never made them for myself. Only bought canned. Thanks for the recipe. I usually order whenever I see them on a menu at a restaraunt. Love beet salads.

My newest favorite breakfast is a 100 calorie light Thomas multigrain high fiber english muffin (toasted) with 1 tablespoon of Kettle almond butter and 1 tablespoon of Polaner All Fruit with Fiber and a glass of skim milk. It is so delicious and satisfying. It also give you more than 1/3 of your fiber for the day, good…

I agree that you need more fruits and vegetables - aim for 5 or 6 servings a day. Most servings are 1/2 cup - except leafy greens which are usually 2 cups raw. Think of the food pyramid. Try to balance your calories with the right foods that will fuel your body and get it working at optimal levels. I also agree that you…

I sautee my vegetables (especially asparagus and zucchini) on the stove most of the time. Just a little olive oil (about a teaspoon) and medium high heat for about 8 minutes. I season with various Mrs. Dash blends. The Chicken Grilling Blend, Southwest Chipotle, and Italian Medley are really good. They add a little flair…

I agree with everyone else, you look fabulous. Keep up the good work.

Kitchen food scale, measuring cups and spoons (several sets of each - so you don't have to wash immediately if you are measuring numerous items at the same time), a really good non-stick skillet (so you don't need much oil), a good quality knife to help you chop vegetables, and Mrs. Dash (assorted flavors/blends) to help…

Cliff Protein Bars are FABULOUS. The chocolate mint and chocolate peanut butter are so tasty. Also, FAGE greek yogurt with honey.

Caffeine free, non-alcholic drinks, and milk count as "water". They help flush your system, hydrate you, and move the fiber through.

You can reach your goal. I was a little doubtful about whether I could when I first started. I just aimed to be at a healthy BMI. It is now 90 days since I first logged in and I'm down 23 to 24 pounds (and at a healthy BMI). I can't say it has been easy, but it is certainly not hard. It takes planning, shopping, and time…

Yoga Now (with Mariel Hemmingway and Rodney Yee) - it has several DVD's - morning wake-up, evening destresser, Core and advanced. It allows for modified versions - if you are not yet capable of some of the poses.

I dress for myself (I want to feel comfortable) and my husband. But in reality, I only dress for him when we are going on a date as I want him to be proud to take me out. Most of the time I get dressed just to be socially acceptable, not to impress people. If it were entirely up to me, I'd be in pajamas or sweat clothes…

I also lost very quickly in the first few weeks, even the first 2 months. It has slowed. Don't worry about it. I've continued to lose but at a much slower pace. I'm now at 1 pound per week, instead of 2 or 3. I'm down 23 pounds in about 12 weeks.

Are you trying to kill yourself? This is not a 3rd world country where you are forced to eat barely anything to just survive. It looks like you have your priorities out of whack. Your body needs fuel. Did you ever try driving your car 500 miles on a gallon of gas? That is what you are doing to your body. What do you think…

I also step on the scale every day, but I only record usually 1x per week. I use it as motivation and to gauge how I need to eat that day. If it is up, I must be extra careful about my sodium and water consumption. If it doesn't move in the right direction for days, I know I need to up my exercise or cut out some of the…

Drink 2 glasses.

I use Mrs. Dash - they have a Spicy Teryaki Marinade that is 0 sodium. I'm loving the Mrs. Dash line of seasonings. I'm on a reduced sodium diet for high blood pressure. And, there is plenty of sodium that occurs naturally in foods (like milk, meat, vegetables) that we shouldn't need to add any. Despite what some people…

Start weight 176 Last week's weight 155 This morning's weight 154 Down 1 pound from last week and 22 pounds overall. Finally reached healthy BMI zone.

My initial goal was 150 (overall). I'm now at 154 (was down to 153 on Saturday a.m.) and I just reset my goal to 145. Will reassess when I get there. I would like my belly fat to completely disappear. Don't know what weight will make that happen... The past few weeks as I've gotten closer to my goal weight and a healthy…

Fage greek yogurt 0% (plain) + 1 tablespoon of honey = 190 calories and very filling. Thomas light multigrain english muffin with 1 fried egg = 170 calories Stalk of celery with 2 tablespoons of Simply Jif Peanut Butter = 200 calories I've found that combinations of protein and fiber are very filling. I've also found that…

not much you can do about it now... But, in looking at your diary - all you ate for breakfast was 3 eggs. Try to eat a more balanced diet so you won't be so hungry. Eat regular snacks. Also, if you are going to order pizza in the future - order one with veggies instead of fatty meats and make sure someone else is around so…
