  • You may view my diary. Today is not a great example of how I normally eat. My older son (age 6) had Muffins with Mom's at his school today... It was not a great start to the day (food wise)... So I working hard to make up for it.
  • Spinning burns the most calories in the least amount of time. It is intense, but if you can do it, it is a great work-out.
  • Fiber bars tear up my stomach... I can't eat them. I eat tons of fiber, but try to do it with fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
  • I know, I used to eat at ****ey's BBQ at least once or twice a week for lunch and the meal that I ate was about 1,000 calories, pulled pork with a side of cole slaw and stuffed baked potato casserole. Zaxby's was another favorite - it is now off limits due to the sodium content of their chicken. I still eat at ****ey's…
  • MFP already allows more sodium than recommended by the FDA. The recommendations are 2300 for a healthy person on a 2000 calorie diet. If you have high blood pressure or are 50 years old or older, you shouldn't consume more than 1500 mg per day. Check out my diary - it is open the public - I am on a reduced sodium diet due…
  • Every minute on the elliptical is helping you. When I started I was thinking 5 minutes was a challenge. Gradually increased to 10, then 15, then 20. I am usually doing around 30 minutes now and feel like I could go much longer, if I only had the time to spare. It's not that difficult physically for me anymore. It is just a…
  • You've done a tremendous job. Can't tell that you have any more to lose when you are clothed. You look amazing. Should be very proud of your accomplishment.
  • What kind of carbs - fruits, grains, sweets? I like Cliff Crunch granola bars. Luna makes good bars. Bananas are good filling carbs. Also, Snyders of Hanover All Natural Veggie sticks, and Snappea Crisps are good for salty snacks. Thomas Light Multi-grain English Muffin with some Poiander All Fruit, or applebutter is good…
  • Microwave for about 5 - 7 minutes until soft, then transfer to a hot oven and bake until skin is crisp - about 15 - 20 minutes in a 400 degree oven. Slice open, add 1 pat of butter to each side, sprinkle with cinnamon (and nutmeg if you like) and enjoy. Very simple and delicous. I eat the whole thing. I prefer the skin…
  • Greetings. Must say that I'm not really happy to admit, this is the first weigh in that I haven't lost... It was after Easter Sunday and I had a piece of ham and some salted tortilla chips - awoke with tremendous thirst - know I must have been retaining water. I've been on a low sodium diet. So... the salty foods are not…
  • We are having: ham, turkey, grilled shrimp, baked sweet potatoes, scalloped red skin potatoes, green beans, and spinach and fruit salad (berries, oranges, and pecans) with raspberry vinegarette. Pineapple upside down cake and chocolate dipped fruit for dessert.
  • LOL... Thanks for sharing your humor!!!
  • Congrats on your continued success... I'm loving this fact. I was always hungry on WW, rarely hungry using MFP though. I've lost 21 pounds since 2/1/12. I agree that it works. Lost weight much faster on MFP - love being able to track my fat, protein, fiber, and sodium.
  • I'm eating a good variety, but I make sure I eat fresh fruits and vegetables and 2 servings of dairy each day. My tummy has shrunk considerably. (That is where I carried most of my weight though). I'm down several inches off my tummy. I've been at this for 66 days - and have lost 21 pounds. I'm now at the cusp of healthy…
  • foods with Omega 3 oils (canola oil, fish - sardines, mackerel, salmon, tuna), nuts and seeds (esp. walnuts, almonds), cranberries, grapes, cherries, brocolli, cocoa powder. Avoid high fat foods - cheese, fatty meats, and full fat dairy products - as they fuel inflammation.
  • Fage was the best I've tried so far. I buy the plain and add my own honey. Also, Atlanta Fresh Greek Yogurt is awesome. I don't know if it is available anywhere else. YUM!
  • I agree it sounds like a mouse. Why would a human tear a hole in the side of the bag and steal cheese? Maybe you should get a metal lunch box.
  • Stuffed peppers or Stuffed Cabbage, Mix the turkey, cooked brown rice, and sauteed veggies of your choice (mushrooms, onions, peppers, diced zuchinni, etc...), top with tomato sauce and bake . Delicious. I also make stuffed pepper soup (use all the ingredients above in a tomato broth based soup). Sauteed vegetables with…
  • It is the same with my boys who are 4 and 6. They both helped me scrub bathrooms yesterday. I outfitted them with plastic gloves and they had a blast. Nothing wrong with that.
  • Depending on how big they are: gather and secure with a cloth hair band, use a large safety pin with the pin sticking out so you don't get poked, or tie a knot in them at the waist like the cleaning ladies do with trash bags so they dont fall into the trash can.
  • 10 pounds is huge... It is bigger than most newborn babies. It is bigger than 2 bags of flour (now they are 4 pounds each)... It is equal to 40 sticks of butter. It is an accomplishment. Be proud and keep up the good work!!!
  • Then you should be eating at least 1,500 calories per day. MFP sets our calories at 500 less than our TDEE so you are in a deficit, but not enough to damage your body or make it think you are trying to starve it.
  • I've found out the same thing. I don't track sugar, but am over every day when I do view the entire report. I agree that unless you are a diabetic or pre-diabetic it is probably not an issue. I now eat Shredded Wheat - Original for breakfast most days because it has no sodium or sugar added. Milk tastes plenty sweet enough…
  • Holy moly... That is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
  • I did it when I was on WW. It worked for me. My splurge day was weigh in day though. After weigh in I ate whatever I wanted for 2 meals. Then resumed my efforts for the rest of the week.
  • Oatmeal w/fruit & unsweetened tea. Fruit & yogurt parfait. Fruit & Walnut Salad. Salad with no chicken or dressing.
  • I have it set at lose 1 pound per week and I've consistently lost more (about 2 pounds per week)...
  • Some of my friends use it to stuff pasta (instead of ricotta) and I plan to do that in the near future. I like it plain, with beets, asparagus, or with fruit. It is good on garden salad. I've also used it in a fruit & cottage cheese blend - pureed in the food processor -that you freeze and eat later (bananas, mango,…
  • Snyders of Hanover - eatsmart naturals - Garden Veggie Sticks - they taste like Muncho's but don't hurt the roof of your mouth or leave a greasy film.
  • All you can eat destinations are great because they have tons of fresh fruit, salad fixings, and usually seafood choices. Just fill your plate with 1/2 vegetables, 1/4 fruits, and 1/4 lean meat at each meal and you will be fine. Eat yogurt or cottage cheese. Drink plenty of water. Have fun and remember to exercise - long…
