  • Here's a link with some good ideas: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1158025-what-is-your-favourite-smoothie-recipe I love my bullet! It enables me to eat breakfast that I used to skip!
  • I find Calcium Magnesium supplements help, especially if taken right after the work out.
  • Wow! Congratulations on your achievement! You look fantastic! Thank you for sharing, that is just what I needed to see today!
  • Congratulations on all your successes! You are an inspiration!
  • Oh, Brussel Sprouts! I HATED them, until i had them oven-roasted; now they are my favorite vegetable. Ideally a little bacon grease and roast them on a sheet pan, but also olive oil is tasty. Slice them in half and roast them flat side down in a 400 degree oven, til they are browned and crispy on the bottom. I like to eat…
  • Me too! I use both the Dudley Rd. and Union Centre locations, and the Kenwood one. Will keep my eyes open for you!
  • I stopped the Progesterone only pill and my period stopped too. No mood swings, although I never have had that lovely side effect, but you never know! I had headaches on the PG so not sure if that changed. One big effect is that I wake up at 4:00 am EVERY DAY on fire!
  • Sometimes I do need to take a break. I think I have got to the point where I will keep the exercise up, but I don't want to be a slave to the tracking of food. I miss a day sometimes, and I will usually go back and add it in. It is a good reminder of how easily you can slip into bad habits. I love to feel that layer of…
  • Good reminder today - thank you! I too am not seeing new numbers - except in my clothes sizes! I have worked too hard for these new muscles to let them fall away to a bad diet. Slow and steady, but mix it up sometimes!
  • My eclectic favorites - All of these make me want to run faster, start dancing or be stronger! Don't stop me now - Queen Bleed it out - Linkin Park Call Me- Blondie Crazy in Love- Beyonce Drive By- Train Eye of the Tiger- Survivor Face Down- Red Jumpsuit Apparatus How Far We've Come- Matchbox Twenty Let's Go Crazy- Prince…
  • You don't look EW!, you look Ooooohhh! You look fabulous! It takes a lot of commitment to make the changes you did, and sometimes family dynamics bring out jealousy; not spending that time with them, feelings of inadequacy, protectiveness, etc. I am sure they care about you and when they see you in person, they will be…
  • You look fantastic, and I bet you feel great too! How did you achieve a 70 pound loss, and how long did it take you?
  • I didn't know there were rewards! I love my Fitbit Flex. It keeps me motivated to meet my daily goals. It doesn't track non-stepping exercise well, but it does work well with MFP too.
  • Wow!! Great job! Go Reds!
  • Love my Fitbit Flex. I haven't tried it in the pool yet, but I will. It is a great motivator to get moving and get my steps in. I have found it doesn't do a great job with tracking work outs, i.e. weights, classes, etc. It also will miss steps if I am pushing a grocery cart or suitcase.
in fitbit? Comment by dimple_gal May 2014
  • Nice Job! It is so hard to motivate when traveling. I find if I work out first thing in the morning when traveling, (since I don't usually do that) it really empowers me to make good decisions the rest of the day. It is really hard to resist the temptations of expense accounts, etc. I have found my Fitbit to be a big help…
  • No one ever lay on their deathbed wishing they had lacked courage and had let everyone else tell them what they could do! Girl, you are 23! Life is too short to spend it worrrying about what other people think you should be wearing! Besides, a tan, from a bottle of course (strategic application) makes you look thinner.…
  • You are young! You should look into any and all exercise that you find fun, valuable and can stick with! Do you like to dance? Look at classes like Zumba, or others. Outdoorsy? Take up running, hiking, kayaking etc. - maybe something you and your husband can do together! I know you want to quickly lose 20 pounds, we all…
  • Why don't you want to count those steps? That's just the kind I would want to count, as they should also be registering in your activity minutes. I'd rather count those steps than leisure steps, like shopping.
  • Very cool! Thanks!
  • I find when I am pushing a shopping cart, it doesn't track. Maybe if you are running or jogging it will pick up the steps. I also find that when I use the eliptical, it doesn't track the steps if I hold on with the hand the Flex is on. If I put my hand on my hip, or in my pocket, it works great.
  • Wow- you look fantastic! Thanks for sharing, I needed this today!
  • My favorites: Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Steamed Artichokes with lemon, Roasted cauliflower is suprisingly good, just cut it up in chunks, I rubbed some siracha, crushed garlic and olive oil on it and roasted it at 425 for about 20 minutes, and it gave me that "buffalo wing" fix. A favorite raw veggie is the bagged snap peas…
  • Girl Scout Samoas - 70 calories of bliss! Cheese of any kind Guacamole, not even the chips! I can eat it with a spoon! Bacon Trader Joes Salted caramel dark chocolate - OMG!
  • My thoughts exactly!!!! So glad I stumbled in.
  • These all sound so good! I have had good luck with freezing avocados and adding to my smoothies. I just peel, seed and put the halves in a ziplock in a layer. They freeze really well and a half an avocado makes a really creamy addition to any smoothy, and you don't need ice. Even if you don't like avocados, you will never…
  • Feel free to add me! Desk most days, with the 45 step walk to the photocopier for a real work out! I try to go to the gym at lunch or after work to get my work outs in. I have a fitbit also, which is inspiring me to move more!
  • Feel free to add me! I am on here most days. I am not menopausal yet, but turning 50 (today) and have many peri symptoms, the most concerning is the weight gain! Have been working out, counting calories, but just started a routine this month of cardio and weights on alternate days. I do feel a disturbance in the force…
  • I got the Fitbit Flex for Christmas, and I have really enjoyed the additional challenge. It motivates me to move more, and since I have a fairly sedentary job, it pushes me to get up and walk more. The sleep information is interesting also. My only grip is that it really only calculates based on steps. So, non-stepping…
  • Brought me to tears! Fantastic story and thank you for sharing it. Congratulations and best of luck to you and the rest of your life!
