Outstanding progress for a year! Keep up the good work and you'll be at goal in no time. Very inspiring to see the success of others!

Kim I"m in Northeast Indy so probably wouldn't work out all that well for me but I saw a feature on the friends where you can search for people by zipcode or city I think. Might be able to find someone that way and then look at their profile or send them a message individually... Good luck on your journey!

Good reminder, particularly for new people on this site since Jan 1. Many probably don't know the feature to customize is even there. I currently and using a 50/25/25 ratio of carbs/protein/fat which seems to work fairly well for me since a higher ratio of fat keeps me from getting too hungry (protein helps that also)...

Thanks for taking the time to post all the detail. Sugar and sweets are also a huge problem for me but once I get off them I feel so much better. I'm learning that I can't just have a little bit becasue it starts my cravings all over again. I have to quit cold turkey and so far since Jan 1 I've been good!

I don't have an answer for you but I had to read your post several times as it seems as if I wrote this myself! Same scenario and I am a runner too who eats way too much sugar! I have found that using this site and really tracking my food is about the only thing that works for me so I"d suggest regular posting and tracking…

Martha- nice work on the run! I have a 5k this Sunday- it'll be my first in a LONG time. I'm a little afraid to see how many minutes I'll have added to my PR. [/quote] Melynda, Good luck on your 5K. HI all, Just checking in and a Happy 4th weekend to everyone. I'm visiting my Mom and other family for along weekend so managing controlled eating and actually logging it all is more difficult. I expect I'll be up a lb or 2after this. Just trying to do better than I normally would on a holiday weekend. Running a 5k race…

Amy (pyr) so sorry to hear about your feet p robllems and that you can'twalk. Did they mention any other kind of cross training that you could do without aggrevating it? Elliptical? I"m guessing swimming would be good but not everyone has access to a pool (I don't at the moment). I can relate as I thought I broke my toe a…

Hi all... Checking back in. I was off the computer most all of yesterday as it was having problems. Frustrating day with a variety of things and I found myself downing some junk food. Made up for it by ahving a light dinner but brownies and chips are not a good balanced diet. I'm back on track today though so yeah for me.…

Not sure what others feelings are on the Crystal Lite, but I count it as water, particularly since it doesn't have caffeine in it which is not so good for dieting. Best to look at it that its certainly better than not drinking at all. I try to get a fair amount of water in, but I slip many days and if Crystal Lite helps…

Welcome Nikki, To those experienced on this board.... I"m just getting use to the posting on this board. How do all of you do that. Do you go to 'my topics' on the message boards and just look at the last one posted for Sixers Turning Up the Heat---? Is there any way to have new posts sent to your email or to quickly get…

I really like the zone Perfect bars. They have a good balance of protein and carbs, taste great and really help to get me through a hunger or sweet craving. 190 calories each. Today I had dark chocolate almond and they also have a double dark chocolate...

Ditto on the welcome and congratulations on the 25 lbs lost so far. Keep up the good work...you'll love this site!

You might try some protein, energy bars. Many of the bars are great for on the go and have a nice balance of protein, carbs and some fiber. You could use them as meal replacements or snacks. We are here to support you and I sure hope you are able to start again and get back on track. It does feel good when we lose the…

I was in the same boat with the loss of willpower but making the effort to log and track everything has really turned it into a game and the motivation is back. I attribute that to the site and its also made me much more aware of the combinations and nutrients within the food that I am eating. best of luck to you!

Just joined myself 3 days ago on the recommendation of a friend and I really like the site and tools. I know I am much more successful when I log everything. This gives me immediate feedback and also helps me balance the nutrition which I've never been able to do before. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Calorie Counter
