You are throwing away hundreds of dollars a year on snacks. Is it worth it?

It depends on what your goal is. If you want to simply lose weight, then you don't need to eat the extra calories. If you are trying to increase muscle mass, then you don't want to go too far under your calorie goal. You want to consume extra protein and complex carbohydrates (yams, spinach, protein powder, etc.) to…

What a bunch of amateurs! Magnesium citrate is the sh_t. You can buy it @ CVS or rite aid for about $2.99. After chugging it, try to drink about a gallon of water over the next four hours. For a bonus, after 4 hours, drink a couple cups of fruit juice like apple cider or pineapple coconut juice with about 2 tablespoons of…

Good SOLID advice. Vega is a todally bad-*kitten* supplement. It's pricey, but you are buying the very best food that your body can ingest.

Not surprising. Anything that I post about vegatarianism is totally ignored. I just went 23 days without meat. It was a great experience. I felt light and lost weight. I look thinner, but more muscular. I have been doing weight training and using a protein powder supplement. I prefer Nitro92 Extreme protein because it is…

I am doing the same thing you are. I wanted to lose 20 lbs. I have lost 15 pounds in less than 3 months. For me, the number one thing has been strength training. Strengthening muscles will increase your overall metabolism. The act of weight training also lifts your metabolism for about 4 hours. Through a combination of…

Cut into strips, grill chicken breast in a sauce pan with a tablespoon of italian dressing. Add diced onions or bell peppers to the mix, if you wish. Cook a tortilla. Put salsa, lettuce and tomato on it and it makes a decent fajita that is relatively low in calories. Depends on how you count the italian dressing. (most of…

I started out using ExtremeLabs Nitro 92. I like the taste and it is zero cholesterol. Now, I mix it 50/50 with Optimum Nutrition Casein protein. Soon, I plan to start mixing it with raw spinach and cooked sweet potatoes for THE ULTIMATE WORKOUT SHAKE!!

My favorite home gym equipment would be an incline bench ($75 or less), a Cap barbell tricep bar (adjustable), an adjustable kettlebell ($39.99?), curling bar, and adjustable dumbells. I also picked up a D-grip @ Sports Authority and clipped it to a chain (Home Depot)and another clip and added about 20 lbs of weight (send…

The rowing machine is good for cardio and it also gets your back more muscular--back muscles are ALWAYS a good thing!

Cotton balls. They are horrible.

I got censored for saying ****ake mushrooms. Too funny. Stupid computer!!

One of my favorite meals is ****ake mushroom and asparagus stirfry. I use soy butter. Clean, cut, and cook the asparagus in water, dump out water, pour asparagus into stirfry pan, add butter, mushrooms and garlic and soy sauce and (almost forgot) about a tablespoon of sweet vermouth. You can also look it up online for…

That is a tough one. If you want add me as a friend and I will look at your diet. It most likely is diet related. Excercising doesn't usually add weight. Muscle is heavier, but if you excercise enough to add a pound of muscle, you will most likely burn off a pound of calories at least. I always lose weight on my gym days…

I am guilty of logging a three minute dog walk--only once, though. The way I figure it, a calorie is a calorie.

High repetitions with light reps. Maybe pick up a 5-10 pound dumbell and do ten curling reps, then rest for a moment, then do ten more and so on and so on. Just go though the routine. Higher reps with lighter weight actually builds muscle size. Lower reps builds strength. You also have to eat right if you are going to put…

Since I started doing more squats, I have found that my range of motion in my midsection has improved. While at work, I caught myself doing a step back and then pivoting in one fluid motion. I have never done that before. Squats, deadlfits and crunches are all good for improving your core strength and increasing your range…

I wish I knew who started this myth that if a woman starts lifting weights, she will "bulk up" and look like Arnold Schwarznegger. I have been lifting weights for years and know that it is very difficult to amass large amounts of muscle.

Magic Mushrooms. Hands down, strangest food. We watched a Devo video and Scooby Doo the movie. We sounded like a bunch of munchkins laughing until 0400 in the morning.

I have found that rest and sleep is just as important as working out. During the rest phases, your muscles will get a chance to rebuild themselves into a newer stronger version. I rest every other day. It may not be optimum, but it works for me and I have had some really awesome results lately. I have put on more muscle…

Good OP. I have been thinking about this alot lately. I am currently taking "Benebiotics" multi-probiotics. They are a mix of probiotics that help prevent GERD, colon cancer, IBS, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. You can purchase them on Amazon.com. For me, the holy bible on digestive health is "Digestive Tune-up"…

I don't care. You can take my shrimp when you pry it from my cold dead hands. It is still zero cholesterol as far as I am concerned.
