Data architect, that's my title. I do a lot of data stewardship, taxonomy development, change management for master data, just a little DBA, and some modeling. Starting to do some data mart QA. A data guy.

Height: 5'9" Age/Gender 59/M Highest: 226 Current; 190 Lowest: 187 Goal weight; 167, which is where the BMI says I'd be not overweight. and is also what I weighed at 21. I'd happily stay in the 175ish area for a while when I get there.

Raised RC, educated by nuns and jesuits, atheist for the past 35 years. Linus Pauling said, and I agree, "I believe all complicated phenomena can be explained using simpler scientific principles." I don't judge others, but I get perturbed when they start in on me.

Mostly, I check to see if there are crumbs in my beard or stains on the front of my shirt or pants. At my age, most women look right through me anyway, like I was pane of glass.

I had to stop, I looked ridiculous. Well, more ridiculous than usual, let's say, with the XL's hanging off of me and pants bunched up at the waist. Bought a new set of winter stuff in November, finally. I do have a lot of summer stuff from when I weighed this much before, but I believe I need some new stuff there too.

Being able to buy clothes that aren't either (1) black, (2) dark, (3) stretchy. Who knew I looked good in yellow? Surprise!

Well, you were looking for work when you found this job, no? You are going to have to speak up, and as others have said, it would be good if you had a lot of documentation, so get started on that. When was the last time you checked on your references? Make sure they would still recommend you and that their contact…

I did not expect that increasing my attention to health and fitness would lead me to other areas of self-improvement. After 20 pounds down, I had a hernia repaired. I'm getting my teeth fixed. I had to buy new clothes - which ironically I wanted to avoid while I was on the gain side of the hill, never occurred to me I'd…

I get up at 5:30, leave the house at 6. Something I have observed over the years is that when you are in bed, you don't want to get up. BUT, once you are up for about 5 minutes, it's all fine, you are awake and ready to roll. Some have mentioned getting all your stuff laid out the night before, that's a good idea. Give…

Eggplant, coated with wheat germ and roasted, topped with just a little bleu cheese dressing. Green beans, sauteed in olive oil with garlic and red pepper. 8-)

Having had minor abdominal surgery my own self, I don't view bariatric surgery as something to dismiss. Takes a lot of courage to go under the knife, and it takes willpowerm or at least forebearance, to preserve the gains (or the losses, I guess).

Yah, a cup a day with breakfast, because how can you eat breakfast without a cup of joe? I usually put in some equal or its generic equivalent and a little creamer powder, where the only calories really are, and it winds up costing me 2 calories. On the weekend, I might have the second cup. Why? In the morning, it tastes…

My daughter took this on my beach vacation last August.

Tell a joke.

If alcohol didn't count, I'd be somewhere near 160 pound right not. And I'm nowhere near 160 pounds. Yeah, you gotta log the booze.

Well, here's what I used to tell my kids. The people who care don't matter, and the people who matter don't care. 8-) Lift heavy, sister.
-
Well, 12 year old kids can be pretty cruel, I think that's always been true. While they have to be responsible for what they say and do, it does reflect the general decline in civility that the anonymous internet has gifted us with. It also speaks very poorly of their parents. You can raise respectful kids, but the…

Declutter. If that's not a word, then simplify.

Get you some new ones, brother. I laid a number of my size 38's to rest last month, finally, and bought me a couple of 36's. I am hoping to further step down to 34's, with any luck by this summer. Oh, and happy new year everybody!

Well, I'm happy how I can perform when I am in my daily routine with exercise and mfp to keep me straight. However, I've always felt that you can't separate out one area of your life to fix, you have to have the whole picture in balance. One of the things that has gotten out of balance for me over the years is clutter. I…

Just what exactly is it about you that fizzes? And more importantly, WTF does it sparkle?

Biscotti. Fruit cake, though I doubt that's unusual. Someone said brussels sprouts, and that resonates with me. Keep yer dang lima beans, too.

@inloveanddyin Parking the dog sled to stop for a cup of joe at an Alaskan 7-11. 8-)

Let me try that again.
