I was married for 21 years. My husband passed away 10 years ago. Remarried and 6 years later going through divorce. I am committed to remaining single from now on. Done with drama...

Me too, going through divorce.

The government thinks we're too stupid......Stay out of my bedroom - and stay out of my fridge!!

Add me! I wanted to be better at 40 than I was when I was 30. I succeeded, mostly due to running. Then I wanted to be better at 50 than I was at 40. Hmm, that's a little harder to do. BUT I'm back to my college weight, thanks to Weight Watchers, MFP, consistent exercise and nutrition. You can do it!

When I was losing, I weighed myself first thing Friday mornings. Now that I'm maintaining, I weigh first thing every morning. I know that I can fluctuate by as much as 2 pounds daily, but it keeps me mindful of my eating and exercise that day. Hope this helps!

The other day I was doing some light toning with 2 10 pound weights and it occurred to me - wow this is how much weight I've lost. Knowing that the 20 pounds I was holding in my hands used to be amount of fat I was carrying in my body made me feel so proud that I had gotten that far! Yay me!

I started at 165, lost 10 on Weight Watchers, gained 5 back, then started MFP Feb 2012 and have lost 18 to get to my current 142. I do cardio 5 days a week and strength training 2-3 times per week. WW has always worked for me, but calorie counting and whole food supplementation in addition to the exercise have really done…

You can add me too! It's all about how you look at it. I hate the word "diet". This is a lifestyle change for you. Stick with it for 6 weeks and it will become your way of life. Promise!!
-
Do you step on the scale every day? I still only weigh once a week, so I don't like to see more than 2-3 pounds change.

I'm 5'7" and a life long weight watcher. According to that program and my history, I had always put my goal weight at 152. And I felt pretty good there. Over the past year I had gained my typical 10-15 pounds and went back to WW and lost about 8 pounds, but honestly I was SO bored with their program I just couldn't…

^^^^What she said. I mean, really??

Hell, yeah, there's a difference! Fantastic.

I know it's hard to stay focused when things get off track. Just concentrate on doing one or two things to get started. Maybe go for a walk every day and don't eat after 8pm. Then a few days later, add something else "on program" and before you know it, you'll be right back on track! Hang in there, you'll get it back.

There's a saying that goes "Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die." You have to find whatever mechanism you can find to let it go. Some use religion, others have tattoos. I've lost both parents, a husband, several friends, and almost lost my son (twice). Believe me, this can…

I love your attitude - it's contagious!

I totally get it. I'm 53 and struggle every day. Add me!

I weigh every Friday morning, first thing. I used to step on the scale every morning, but found that it set the tone for my day. I didn't like the scale having that kind of power over my life! So, once a week is much better for me

 I'm just up the road in Collinsville.

Love this. And I really love the suit. Very classy!

What small town? I went to school in Bloomington, have family in Columbus. My first husband grew up in Mitchell, IN. I grew up in W. Lafayette and Connersville. I now live in the St. Louis area, but will always be a Hoosier at heart!

I am in Collinsville! Small world! Watch American Idol tonight - Nike is airing a commercial that features CHS' new field and downtown. It was filmed here a couple of months ago. Go Cards!

St. Louis, MO - actually the Metro East area across the river in Illinois.

Just found this group - this phase of life is so frustrating! I am a lifelong Weight Watcher and SO tired of the program. It just doesn't seem to work for me anymore and I found it impossible to stay motivated. Something as simple as counting calories seems to have kick-started that weight loss again, but I think really…

I really like this thread. I'm 53 years old, lifelong Weight Watcher and happy to find something "new" to get these last pounds off for good! LOVE MFP! Happy April everyone - it's gonna be a great month! Mary

I agree - for me it's the first mile. Then my stride lengthens and breathing gets less shallow and it becomes enjoyable. THEN the endorphins kick in :) Great news! Keep up the awesome work!
