  • The machine may not be calibrated correctly - though I agree with you about not being sure that something that measures BF% from your grip being accurate. Do you have calipers? you could use those at home and just follow the instructions to get a fairly accurate measure of BF%. There are other methods some that are more…
  • If you are craving salty crunchy things you might need to be tested for anemia - that is strangely one of the signs for anemia and it can be either iron deficient or deficient in vitamin B6 (niacin) which fixes the iron in your blood stream. When doing Insanity you are burning crazy amounts of calories and may need to up…

  • One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is that one of the reason bread gets a bad reputation isn't just because it is a simple carb - but due to gluten sensitivity - while I love bread, I cannot lose weight if I am eating it which is one of the less obvious symptoms of gluten sensitivity - so while I do not cut it out…
  • Stopping the soda all together is a good suggestion to start with, strangely enough you may need to increase your calorie intake to break the weight loss plateau - try varying your intake between 1200 and 1500 over the week and see if that helps.
  • Carbs are not bad - there are carbs in almost everything, some foods have higher amounts then others and what happens is that your body breaks down the carbs into sugars that it uses for energy - the higher the carbs the higher the sugar levels produced for energy are, then the body takes what isn't used and converts it…
  • You can add me also, would be happy to provide support and receive some in return :)
  • Drinking diet soda is not a good way to curb hunger, while it may not make you hungry it can make you want the wrong foods and cause your body to not be able to process natural sugars correctly. Here is an article on the subject. http://www.livestrong.com/article/377500-do-diet-sodas-make-you-hungry/
  • I picked the weight that I have felt the healthiest as well as mostly liking how I looked - I have picked 150 pounds, which is at the top end of the recommended weights for my height - but the time I was down to 130 while I felt healthy, I couldn't sit for more than 5 minutes before my legs went numb due to not having…

  • What program to buy is a tough question, because would need to know more about you - what do you enjoy doing is the most important part of the question - because the best program for you is one you enjoy doing because that is the one that you will stick to doing instead of stopping and leaving it sit on the shelf. What are…
  • You most likely would not gain wright back, you might plateau but you might also see more fat lose and muscle definition as well. Something you could try it take it up to the higher calorie intake for a couple days and see what happens. There is actually a recommendation out there to bump your calorie intake up for a…
  • squats and lunges - you can grab some weights to make it more challenging. There are also some great leg machines - a press were you push the weights away from you using your feet, one for curls and extensions, one to work the inner and outer thigh muscles, and sometimes there is even a machine to work calf muscles if you…
  • OK, first how are you feeling both physically and hunger wise - everyone is different so if you feel good on your current calorie intake you might be fine - if you are hungry and tired all the time you probably need more calories. Are you meeting your goals? if yes don't worry about it - if no raise your calorie intake up…

  • check the glycemic index for your foods - those with high glycemic indexs will make you hungry again faster than low glycemic (carrotts, apples) so should be paired with a protein or fat (peanutbutter, or other nut butter) to stabalize blood sugar. Lots of water will also help with the hunger.

  • Your digestion slows down when you sleep, wich is why it is a bad idea to eat before going to bed - unless you are so hungry it keeps you from sleeping. Eating breakfast is just that breaking your fast from the time you were sleeping - if you eat on a fairly regular schedule then it doesn't realy matter when you eat, but…
