41.75 down...don't think I'll make 100....LOL!! Definitely next month though once I have done my sprint tri!!
-
I've got a few more miles to add, and I will do that when I get home. Don't think I"ll hit 100 though. Irene is putting a damper on our weekend, and quite honestly I have been pre-occupied worrying about our place on the beach in Delaware. Nothing I can do about it, but I'm stressed to the max just the same.

I usually eat a 300-400 calorie BF about 730 or 8 every day. It's also not unusual for breakfast to be my biggest meal of the day. Usually I eat fruit and some sort of protein (eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese), OR rolled oats and fruit, OR a protein smoothie. If you drink a couple of glasses of water when you first wake up,…

I grew up in FLA and I have immense respect for ANY category of hurricane, especially if you are within 20-30 miles of the coast. My place on the beach in Delaware remains in the bullseye.....

I was in my office in Alexandria, VA...it was crazy. I thought the building was going to come down. My file drawers popped open and a bunch of stuff jumped off the shelves (on the 6th floor of a 6 story building). One of the guys down the hall looked as shocked as me. The other, who has spent some time in CA, instinctively…

So here is the link to my bike.... http://www.roadbikeoutlet.com/0featured/vilano-forza-3-0-road-bicycle-shimano-sora.html Unfortunately, I still have not had a chance to ride it yet...GRR!! Hubby had to finish putting it together, and he has, but he still needs to "tweak" it for shifting. And we had a jam packed weekend,…

Fridge/freezer being empty is not a bad thing if the power goes out. When you hit the grocery store just stick to non-perishables and fruit/veggies that don't need to be refrigerated.

We are dry in Northern Virginia as well. We happen to have a place on the beach in Delaware and there are a few tracks that have it skimming the Delmarva peninsula. I am watching very closely at this point.
-
Latest track has it skimming you guys and wreaking havoc in the Carolinas and the MId-Atlantic area.

Just remember a lot of that is water too. Which is not unusual when you eliminate carbs. The most important thing is you find a "diet" (and I hate that word), that fits how you like to eat. What works for me is just eliminating the white stuff, and minimizing the presence of processed foods in my diet.

The beer of choice among some of my friends when we were in Amsterdam last year!! And if I can't have a Dogfish Sherlter Pale Ale or Punkin' Ale (in the fall) post run, Guinness is my next choice!!
-
Dogfish is my absolute favorite!!

Love it with berries or peaches and a drizzle of honey. Top that off with a sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon and you are all set. You can also blend it with an egg (I think) and sub it for ricotta in Italian dishes. I also use it in lasagna, and have a killer recipe for cottage cheese pancakes.

Bike is here...up on hubby's rack right now. He didn't have time to finish tweaking it last night, but hopefully tonight!!

This!! And pretty much any other veggie or fiber packed fruit (like an apple) You get a lot more volume for the same # of calories and good fiber too. I eat a vegetable laden lunch almost every day. Often it's some sort of salad or soup. Today was a cup of brown rice loaded with stir fry veggies and some steamed snap peas…

I used to consider myself somewhat active, but discovered that my definition of "active" pales in comparison to what I do now. I have turned into a runner, a cyclist, and I am soon to be a triathlete. My favorite 2 quotes "Don't diet...live it." (I have no idea where I got that), and "If I own it, I will eat it." (Stolen…

You didn't say whether or not you run, but it sounds like classic "runner's knee." Unfortunately there can be any number of causes, but the symptoms are exactly what you describe. As someone already pointed out, it can be attributed to trying to do too much too fast, or just plain overtraining. Best course of action is to…

30.5 down and 69.5 to go....new bike is supposed to arrive TODAY!!
-
As someone already pointed out, Jeff Galloway is your man if that is the method you are already using. The way to get faster though is to incorporate some speed work: intervals and tempo work are the way to do that. You can find some free plans at runnersworld.com

You don't HAVE to do anything. I tend to stick to a range of calories instead. Usually 1400-1600, but I am eating more like 1600-1800 right now since I am getting ready for some fall races. That accounts for eating some, but not all of my exercise calories. I find that if I eat a whole foods based diet and limit the amount…

I have done this as well. I have always been a bargain shopper, so I usually get my "wear" out of clothes that I buy, and don't have any trouble donating then. There was awhile where I was dropping a size every 6-8 weeks, so I sent some of the barely worn clothes other people, with the agreement that they just pay me for…

It honestly depends on what I am doing and the time of year. I have no trouble doing a "fasted" exercise session, with a duration of an hour or less in the winter. But I prefer to eat a little something in the summer and definitely before longer workouts at any time of year. If I exercise later in the day, and I'm not…

Banned because it is "bad for you" since it's a bottom feeder? or banned due to overfishing? I like it, but I don't buy it that often since it tends to be kind of expensive. But I also tend to avoid species that are overfished: Swordfish, Chilean Sea Bass, etc. It's up to you on whether or not you want to deal with the…

Just happened to have picked up a bag today. One of my favorite parts of going for sushi is the big bowl of fresh steamed edamame that we devour beforehand!
-
Easily several hundred $$ but I have bought a TON of clothes because I scour the clearance racks and was always on the lookout for the next size smaller :-)

I have several Champion bras and I love them.

I have cuddle time with one of my cats every morning, and I love every minute of it. The other one just comes and finds me when he wants attention.
-
Love 'em both. Had dogs growing up and never really cared for cats, until I got my first one. We now own 2 hilarious cats.: they are #'s 4 and 5 of a string of them that we have owned. They fit our lifestyle much better than dogs. We can go out after work and not worry about it. Or take off for a weekend w/no problems. A…

Did you mean to say that Hungry Girl "does not" eat clean? I have used a couple of her recipes here and there, but I don't like most of them because she uses a TON of processed foods, which I try to avoid.
