Thanks. Part of the attraction of the fitbit flex is the price and slim design, wake up feature, stuff like that. So with the Body Media is it a constant real time feed via bluetooth/wireless to a smartphone?

I am impressed.

You got it!

HAHA! You and me both!

THIS!!!! Proud and loud right here.

Believe me I have no love lost for corporate America and current insurance practices. But right now insurance costs me a $1 a paycheck because I work for a company that cares. My wife's cost about $90 a month for her can't remember what the kids were, but she lost that job because the company folded, and the new company…

That's all touching, and I'm not being facetious I mean it, but for me and my family, because Obama thinks I'm "RICH", it'll cost my wife and children around $10k plus a year, and that's only if my company doesn't decide to ditch our insurance which word is they might and force us to go get ACH, then I'll have to add…

This is the exception? What makes you the authority of what the intent is of every other guy who likes to work out and has packed on a few muscles? Seriously, who gives a **** anyway if someone wants muscles or not. it's none of anyones business. I could care less if you are as skinny as a pencil, truly I would not lose…

I'd say what you should tell them but the thread would get locked or I'd be banned. Who gives a toot what others think? I understand your sensitivity and I'd be lying if I said things don't get to me sometimes, but at the end of the day I lay my head on my pillow and sleep just fine with who I am, stinky sweat and all. I…

I have a degree in MFP wizardry. It's cause I don't workout and spend all my time chit chatting. In chit chat no less....

Haha I KNEW when I saw the title of this post that it would immediately be full of posters slamming the OP for the obvious. Lol.

I have hypothyroid, feel free to add me.

If I ask a question it's usually about something regarding equipment. You want to have fun, try posting something about "clean eating"! You know, not to be a troll or anything, but it's funny watching these newly self-appointed fitness experts get their panties in a wad...

You got that right. I've been here 3 years and the forums have really gotten bad. I just build a big friend list and mostly talk there, because the forums are pretty useless. I like browsing them though but it's hard to get into a good discussion without it devolving into a pissing match.

Ignore the holier than thou fitness keyboard commandos. You asked a very valid question out of love for your daughter and there's NOTHING wrong with that. You are learning, both of you, and asking questions is the way to go. There are people here who obviously have never heard that there is no such thing as a stupid…

This is a good point too. I have pretty low blood sugar and a hard crash is always a danger for me so I need something before a workout, even if just a pre-workout drink like NO-XPLODE.

Maybe a lot of sugar in the jelly, but truly that is a pretty healthy breakfast, especially compared to a pop tart and a coke that some kids have. BUT, I am going through the same thing with an 8 year old daughter. It is a fine line you are right, but one thing I can guarantee you is that fitness will keep her eating, a…

If the banana is working for you keep doing that. I like a light snack about an hour before working out. Too much and I feel nauseous. Eating late is fine. You still burn calories when you sleep. It's not the eating late that has a bad rep, it's that people usually eat a half of gallon of ice cream and bag of doritos…

Clearly you did not read anything I posted. She doesn't do any of that, no soda or fast food or junk food.

Stomach stretching does seem to be a normal part of gastric bypass as the years go by, but she gained the weight during her second pregnancy. I knew her before, during and of course after the pregnancy. She ate like any pregnant woman would, but also was healthy about it as much as possible.
-
Thanks. She did fall back to her old ways, but before her last pregnancy. During her pregnancy and since has been all about health. This is not someone new to my life, I am 100% certain she is being completely honest. She did lose 10 pounds, but has been on a 90 day plateau and has even gained a couple pounds back. I think…

Thank you! This helps tons and validates some of my thoughts I had.

Agreed, but nothing wrong with trying to tweak or find better solutions if available, right?

To clarify, the Dr's plan does not SPECIFY exercise. They support it, but do not help with the consideration of calories if she DOES exercise. She swims, and can swim laps (pun intended) around most young people in the pool. I know what the problem is, it's calorie deficiency and getting balanced meals with a much smaller…

I couldn't agree more, but this doesn't help much and I'd appreciate moving past opinions about why people decide to do that and just respond with practical helpful answers, or not at all. Her surgery was a mistake she admits that, but it was 10 years ago and she put the weight on because of her last pregnancy, not because…

Really OMG! They eat MORE calories. Well duh! Doesn't mean that's a bad thing. Eat more, move more, lose more.

Happy!
