I have another one for you. I don't know how accurate this is, but I like the VO2 max calculator. You can get your VO2 max at the below link, then get a more precise calorie count from the link on my earlier post, in the "known VO2max calculator" that you see if you scroll down :-) I just think these are kind fun.…

You don't need a monitor. You can measure your pulse for 10 seconds periodically throughout the workout to get a general idea. Then you can guess your calories too :-) It's just an estimate, obviously, but I hear HRM aren't that accurate anyway.…

I'm a week late to this thread too, best of luck to you all! :-) SW: (Starting weight) 165.8 CW: (Current weight) 163 GW: (Goal weight for the month) 160.8 Weigh in Dates: 7/1 165.8 7/8 163.0 7/15 7/22 7/28 End of Month (or whatever weigh in days you use) Total weight lost: 2.8! I'm halfway to my July goal already! Maybe…

Thought I'd answer this since I also have high arches AND I'm obsessed with shoes! :-) My problem with finding shoes to workout in (or almost any shoe really) they either feel weird in the arch area (like it's in the wrong place) or rub at the top of my foot. This might sound counterintuitive, since we think that our high…

I second the banana idea! Another alternative is to drink some coconut water right before you run. It has electrolytes and gives a little boost of energy, without all the fake crap in Gatorade type drinks. It might get you through your run. Like someone else mentioned, I usually run on an empty stomach in the morning (even…

When you log your insanity workout calories, MFP will automatically increase your daily calorie goal. For example, if you log your insanity workout as burning 650 calories in 40 mins, your daily calorie goal will increase from 1350 to 2000. I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, the Insanity nutrition guide factors…

I guess you could say I loosely follow the nutrition plan. Well, I skimmed through it at took what I liked out of it. I am doing 5, 300-ish calorie meals (total 1500 cals). I shoot for 110 grams of protein based on 1 gm per lb of lean body mass, and drinking at least 8 cups of water. The big difference is, I'm keeping my…

Just my two cents, as someone who used to get shin splints almost INSTANTLY with most running shoes (ie. Mizuno, Adidas, Brooks, Puma) to the point where I almost gave up running completely. I have Merrell Pace Glove and Inov-8 (I have several models), I actually much prefer Inov-8, they are ugly but seem lighter and more…

I'm in! I actually started Insanity yesterday, but Mondays will have to be my one weekly day off since I work 10 hour on that day, so my real day 2 will be tomorrow. I used to do Crossfit and kettlebell, but have fallen off the wagon for over a year due an injury and gained a ton of weight due to lack of sleep and eating…
