  • Not much, when I'm a size 4 and overweight by BMI standards, I tend to disregard it. I think bodyfat percentage and waist measurements are a better method for assessing whether you are overweight or if you may have weight-related health risks. *edited to add, I think waist-to-height ratio was recently shown to be a better…
  • Panache sport! Expensive but the best I've found. Keeps everything in place. They have your size! I buy on amazon/ebay but I have seen some sizes at Nordstrom.
  • I think you are actually in the "apple" category based on your waist hip ratio > .80. And your thigh measurement sounds fairly thin for your height! There's a saying, "abs are made in the kitchen", so focus on your diet to lose inches (not just abs, everywhere..) Also, you are doing a TON of cardio (2 hours 5x/wk??? plus…
  • I have celiac disease and my belly puffs up like I'm pregnant if I get "contaminated", and this can stick around for awhile. There may be something you are eating daily that is causing inflammation and/or water retention. I suspect the Isogenix as well, they claim to be gluten free but there is a gazillion ingredients in…
  • Eating too much (obviously). The precipitating factor was a shift change to very early hours at work. I'm a natural night owl (well, a diagnosed insomniac), so I very soon found myself nearly passing out at my desk from exhaustion and grabbing caffeine/sugar-filled drinks and food in a desperate attempt to stay awake…
  • You probably need to get down to sub 10% body fat (if you are male) to get good ab definition. So, estimate your current body fat, if you haven't already. Here's one of many tools you can use: http://www.fat2fittools.com/tools/mbf/ Then, figure out how many pounds of fat you need to lose here:…
  • ^^^^This is an excellent point^^^^ Not a lot of protein bang-for-your-buck with greens. Also, most greens are not "complete" proteins (that is, they don't have all 9 essential amino acids in sufficient quantities), so in addition to consuming large volumes, I imagine you would have to mix and match a large variety of…
  • My doctor recommended it for migraines. I actually take epilepsy meds for my migraines too, so there may be a similar interaction there. Anyway, the diet eliminated the migraines almost immediately, and I had a nice side effect of losing weight quickly without hunger. It's HARD to eat that much fat/protein. I ate eggs,…
  • You are right in a way, it's an indirect effect in that the diet drinks seemed to trigger people in the study to eat more (it's not an excuse though, the participants didn't know the purpose of the study). The real reason they gained was, as always, eating too much. But it set them up for failure with their weight loss…
  • Well you are a sample size of "1". We could observe a McD's drive through and see how many obese people pull up and order diet drinks too (I'm guessing a lot). But that's not really valid either. There's a Johns Hopkins study showing diet soda may trigger already obese people to consume more solid food. However, there is…
  • Don't have to, I never liked OJ. But since you mention it, OJ is less acidic than soda (and has some other redeeming qualities, what does soda have? And so far, I haven't seen it eat metal or used in car care) For example, Coke's pH is 2.5, OJ is a little better at 3.5. For perspective, battery acid is 1.0, tap water is…
  • @cosmo_momo‌ I see your 3/4 power is based on Kleiber's law, but where did you get your 77 calorie multiplier? Sorry I only skimmed the article, I'm on a phone.
  • Hope not. I had a sports bra once that made my right arm go numb. I thought I was having a stroke.
  • If your tracking everything correctly, I do think it could be water retention or some kind of weird stress response. I used to lift 5+ days per week and I could NOT lose weight, I even gained! It didn't seem to matter what kind of deficit I was in. I was stuck for months. The moment I switched to 3 day per week and even…
  • Or...the shoe repair/cobbler can stretch boots for $8-12 dollars, with far less side effects

  • Hey, with a good shoe repair guy and a prayer, there's chance it could work! Sometimes I wish I could suck in my calves like I suck in my stomach with tight jeans, lol!

  • You might like this one too (or any bigger chested ladies)! I can't. Even. Deal. with sport bra wrestling anymore. I have to go with the hook in back. I wonder if there's a tradeoff. I do get SLIGHT jiggle. but I have not found anything that DOESN'T jiggle a little, even with the uniboober deluxes. Champion's C9 does not…
  • If they are leather, YES! but we are talking sometimes just 3/8"-1/2" here, don't get too excited...

  • Since you are looking for comments, have you SEEN the distribution on am@zon reviews for the Advocare 24 day challenge? There's more 1 star reviews than anything else, yikes! I'd read those first, since those people tried it.
  • Well that is good!!! Good luck with your goal :) The other good news is, 1/4" is likely no problem to get stretched if they are real leather and all else fails.

  • I combat the drive to overeat at this time by paying homage to the chocolate goddesses by increasing my chocolate intake ( and drinking more water), in hopes that they will be merciful and not compel me to binge on an entire pizza nor blight my face with a giant chin zit. I have a 75% success rate with this tactic.
  • Under cardio (of all places) in MFP, there is "Strength Training" and I log the time there. It gives me something like 90-120 cals for my 20-something minute workout. I don't really eat back my exercise so it doesn't matter to much anyway, but I like to log it and pretend it's accurate lol.
  • @NaurielR‌ wow, that is great detail! I don't have lemonade, but pineapple juice is on hand, and pretty strong itself (I think it's pretty acidic?) That's #1 on my experimental mixlist now. Thanks!
  • Ooo samples are a great idea, less risky!
  • Are you running or doing plyo (or anything jumpy/high impact)? Then jump test in addition to the REI test above is a good idea. However, if you are very full busted, nothing is going to keep them completely contained. But, if you are just doing yoga or lifting, there's no reason to be completely immobolize them if you…
  • Thanks, maybe I'll get the smallest, cheapest unflavored powder and experiment with "additions" to hide the taste and go from there. Thanks everyone!!!
  • Get your boots stretched. Or return them and get a different pair. Boots come in different circumferences, it should be stated on the website or sometimes on the box. "Calf raises" are going to make your calves muscles bigger, sorry. Losing weight MIGHT make them slightly smaller, as your whole body gets smaller, it's…

  • MAKE ROOM FOR YOUR CHOCOLATE in your calorie allotment for the day. You deserve it, and it deserves a place in your diet, if it is dark chocolate (antioxidants, minerals, fiber, good stuff!). But make it the best quality, tastiest dark chocolate (at least 70%) you can get your hands on. Expensive too. You won't wolf down a…
  • Banana and a glass of milk are good to grab on a busy morning! But as far as shakes go, Optimum Nutrition Oats & Whey mixed with unsweetened vanilla almond milk (you can mix it with whatever-but it tastes really good that way) is my usual go-to when I don't have time to make real food. I like the chocolate flavor. I am not…
