I understand and agree with this. However, at nearly 15-months, my daughter has a limited vocabulary and hasn't started asking for specific foods (unless she sees someone eating it and wants some.) I generally give her a variety to choose from. Lunch, for example, I'll place a couple of small pieces of cheese on her plate…

Unfortunately I am/was physically unable to breastfeed. This is why the topic is so important to be because now that she is over a year old and almost completely done the transition away from formula, I need to focus on what is most important for her. I understand the benefits of all of the fats in cow's milk for brain…

Just do it. I'd be willing to bet that you'll feel so much better that you did. Before long, you'll be so accustomed to it that you can't WAIT to do it and when you DON'T do it, you'll feel like crap. Change patterns, change behaviours, change thoughts! Worked for me! :) Best wishes.

You look beautiful! Similar stats, and right now 150lbs is my 1st goal, which I'm not too too far from! Thanks for the inspiration to keep going. Enjoy your celebration :)

I appreciate the feedback. My point while gabbing your face off was only that life happens, and making yourself a priority is neither a selfish or shameful act. Thanks for the support!

Hiya! I just posted in this category today as it is my one-year anniversary -- and I've never once gone to the gym! https://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/878881-365-days-62-pounds-60-inches-later Best of luck, you can do this, too!

So far I am almost 12 months in and 61.8lbs down. Also down about 60 inches overall. Was about 20lbs overweight before my pregnancy and decided to get busy a couple of months after delivering. I'm about 13lbs from my first goal. It could have been achieved much sooner but life happens and roadblocks occur -- don't let them…

Before I had an HRM I used this site to calculate: http://fatburn.com/free_tool_activity_burn.asp I find it the most accurate of all the ones I've tried now compared to my HRM. Plus, it calculates by weight. I considered most of my biking activity moderate/aerobic because although I sweat, I wasn't anywhere near close to…

While I appreciate you being forthright, I was hoping to consolidate a number of stories so he could look in one place as he is not yet very user-friendly with the site. I figured the easier I could make it for him to access, the better chance he'd look and in turn, be motivated. To the rest of you who posted the…

Thanks for sharing :) He will be reading these, I'm just hoping that some others will join in your example and share their stories for him! Hope to see lots more when I check back next!

YOU are the ladies I have been looking for!!! You all sound and appear so successful in what you've been doing here. Weights scare me. They shouldn't, I know. But they do. I am almost a full year post-partum and have focused on weight loss, during which time I've been marginally successful. With 1.5 weeks to go until that…

I've got that program, and the pamphlet that comes with it gives you a calendar to follow, pretty much insisting on 2 workouts stacked, and a third if you desire. If you follow the calendar, it tells you which to do together.

I've never met, or come across, anyone else who has read it - and hearing you have makes ME happy!

By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept, by Elizabeth Smart. It's a novel of prose poetry and it's absolutely elegant and heart-gripping. It's one of the few books I can recite numerous lines from because they've stuck with me. One of the main reasons I love it is that it's largely anapaestic, so it reads more like a…

Thanks for weighing in .. I knew there was more of us out there! I have notoriously brought my own meals to work because I never know if I'm going to get a moment to attain one elsewhere. This should be an easy transition. The logging, however, I can see being challenging. I can't grab my phone every 4 hours like I can at…

I can't speak for his line of work, but I think in my field it's because with the magnitude and severity of what we deal with, working 9-5, Mon-Fri would be too much "in office" time .. by working longer shifts, less days, I think it's meant to save sanity. I know it will come with time and patience, but I'm slightly…
