  • I'm 5'2 and my goal is 119lbs. I'm not far off now at 121.5lbs!
  • If it is really taking over your life you need to take a step back and take a reality check. Ask yourself if you are happy with the way things are? If you aren't then, in my opinion, something needs to change. We want to be fit, happy and healthy but if you are missing out on one of those components then you need to find a…
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely up the amount I go walking - it is lovely weather here today so I will get out after work. I have been thinking of getting a personal trainer at my local gym. They can guide me through what I can and can't do and keep an eye on how I am doing. There are yoga and pilates…
  • I think I would be too nervous to eat knowing my impending doom... But if I managed to have an appetite I would have: Deep fried breadcrumbed fresh mushrooms and pieces of freshly breaded mozzarella fried, served with garlic mayonnaise Egg pasta tossed with chunks of goat's cheese, tomato sauce and fresh basil with a side…
  • My press ups are pathetic! I can maybe do one knee press up and then I just end up lying on the floor... Checked out the blog post by BerryH and I think that will really help me to build up and improve. Thanks for the advice!
  • Firstly I want to improve my health. I had a kidney transplant 2 years ago and I want to prolong it as long as possible. I've also got heart failure - the left ventricle is weakened and I have a bit of a heart murmur. My resting pulse at the moment is between 90 and 105. I really want to bring this down as it is worrying…
  • I'm doomed then! Breakfast is usually some berries with natural or greek yogurt. In my lunch bag I put in a banana, clementine and an apple each day for my snacks. I also eat some dried fruit at some point in the day. I agree with CoachReddy - Fruit is generally good for you and it is the added and artificial…
  • I started yesterday too! I watched the routine through first and though 'pfft, that looks easy'... It almost floored me when I actually did it. My arms and legs were really shaking afterwards! So far, no sore muscles but that will probably hit me later on today! I do struggle to stick with something as it can be too…
  • I felt quite tired and grumpy when I was on 1200 calories a day. Now I've increased it to 1600 and I feel a lot happier - but it is what works for you and make sure you listen to your body.
  • I have been on around 1200 calories but have been feeling grouchy and hungry. I'm going to up it to around 1300-1400 and see if that helps.
  • 5' 2" Heighest Weight: 132lbs Current Weight: 119lbs GW: 118lbs Although I'm almost at my goal weight I still don't feel especially fit and healthy. I'm continuing my story.
  • Mine is around the low 90s. I had a virus that affected my heart muscle a few years ago. I'm on beta blockers and ACE inhibitor tablets to 'control' it... So I dread to think what it might be without the meds! I'm hoping becoming active might improve my health
  • I'm on medications that mean I have to take them on an empty stomach. I take my tablets at 9pm so tend to stop eating at 7pm. If I truly feel like I'm starving I might have something small just before bed.
  • Someone way back in my college days said I looked either like a Sarah or a Lucy... The spelling was my own choosing / the spelling that came out in a drunken text!
  • How do you record squats on mfp? Does it just go under strength training. I want the calories I burnt to count!
  • Day 1 - Done!
  • My legs are one of the areas that really could do with some work. I'm starting on this tonight!
  • I'm quite similar. I can come to meal times and think 'I know I have to eat, but I really dont feel hungry'. On certain days I am below my daily calorie intake and I'm currently creating a calorie defecit to lose weight... Once I reach my target weight and my calories go up to maintain my target weight I have no idea how I…
  • @rosettafaery I haven't posted in a while but now the weather is getting nicer and brighter I'm more inspired to get out and about!
  • Hi again, We visit both sets of parents maybe monthly or fortnightly at most. So it's regular but not every night. I will take your advice and not stress myself out about it all. Eating normally during the day is sensible like you say as I don't want my energy to dip and then binge during the dinner. I might try and break…
  • I started off using the Wii to do all of my exercise. Then the Wii board came out so I got that and Wii Fit which was really good fun and excellent exercise. Recently I have just gone over to the realm of Xbox 360 with kinect and it has blown my mind! Using the wii you have the potential to cheat and just wave the wiimote…
  • When I started on my fitness regime I was using the noom app. It would set you tasks to complete each day - be it completing your food diary or recording your exercise. If you hadn't set enough goals it would ask you to weigh yourself. It asked me to weigh myself 2 or 3 times a week. But I found that my weight fluctuated a…
  • I'm new to this group, but my gamertag is rosettafaery
  • I received an email about the Special K diet this morning... I was tempted but after reading this thread I think I will just stick to my normal, varied but healthy diet! Perhaps it can be good as a kick start to a healthier regime but if you are putting on weight again afterwards it isn't worth the trouble.
  • I workout at home too. I do Wii Fit and the Just Dance series on the Wii and Your Shape: Fitness evolved 2012 and Dance Central on the Xbox 360 with kinect. I also try and go walking or cycling on the weekends if the weather isn't too bad. Having to fork out money for gym memberships isn't appealing to me. I have the world…
  • I would give anything to look that fit and healthy. I found this article before (apologies if it's already been posted) saying how women are scared to have muscles because they think it won't look feminine. http://bit.ly/VgDXWq
  • I have quite a few scars; 5 can be covered unless it is warm and the other couple are so small that you can barely notice them. All of mine were from operations and treatments - not from accidents. In a way I wish they were from accidents then they would have a bit more of an exciting tale to tell. But scars definitely…
  • I'm from Llanfairfechan in North Wales - not noticed any other Welshies yet!
  • Breakfast - Yogurt with fresh berries and topped with granola Lunch - Either: Homemade vegetable soup wiith some bread to dip OR Mixed green salad leaves, cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and a bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar OR a wholemeal bread sandwich with cream cheese and sweet bell peppers or…
