  • My tip would be to increase your calories. It can be a slightly scary thing to do and you can find yourself worrying that you will instantly gain weight. But for me, I found I actually lost weight when I went from 1200 to 1600 calories a day. I would workout 3 times a week for about 30 minutes each session doing a mix of…
  • As a female I was expected to have dreamed of my big white wedding as a little girl and literally have everything set in place for when it would happen. I then had a few boyfriends at high school and college but none induced the romantic side in me. I didn't even consider having babies as a thing for me. But that all…
  • Amazing results! Well done - you look great!
  • I started out with walking on my lunch break. I have been walking about a mile each time and I am now noticing my pace has increased. I feel like I am finding that the more I exercise (without pushing myself too hard) the more energy I have. Exercise (or at least the sense of achievement afterwards) is addictive! I am now…
  • I walk on my lunch break as I just need a bit of time away from the office. I find it is enough to get my circulation moving a bit more, to keep my mind functioning and break the cycle of sitting at my desk for too long. I workout when I get home and can get as sweaty as I like!
  • I've very recently been diagnosed with anxiety and depression issues. I have often felt down and sad for years but could never quite put my finger on it. But when I started to have anxiety attacks I knew I had to get help. It feels like someone has their hand around my neck and there is a lot of pressure on my chest making…
  • My instagram is a bit of everything - health, fitness, days out... Everything! @rosettafaery I'll give you a follow and if you fancy it follow back :flowerforyou:
  • I try and log everything I eat so I have a good idea what my intake is. I tend to also weigh everything out or follow the portion suggestion. Trouble is when my hubby cooks he is very much a "I'll just add a bit of this, and a load of that" never know for sure my in take at those meals but I try and estimate as best I can!
  • I started lifting because my doctor recommended it as I have bone density issues. I carry on lifting as I like the changes I am seeing in my body.
  • I was thinking of doing a similar thing so this has reassured me. I've only completed week 1 of C25k so far but was thinking of adding in some strength training (NROL4W) on the alternative days. Giving me strength training on Mon, Wed, Fri and C25k on Tues, Thurs and Sat as well. Leaving Sunday as a rest day.
  • As others have said, start off with small goals. Start off with getting used to being active for 15 minutes a day. It can be walking at an easy pace or on a stationary bicycle. When you start noticing that is becoming easier aim to go a little further / faster / longer and gradually increase it. You have to be able to walk…
  • I started with resistance machines and didn't notice much change in my body during those months. I invested in some free weights and I could see a change in a matter of weeks.
  • There are some nice breakfast options on this website: http://www.blogilates.com/blog/category/recipe-index/healthy-breakfasts/ Two of my favourites are 'Berrylicious microwave minute muffin' and '100% Natural Pancakes Recipe'
  • The challenges I've set myself are: 1. Don't go over my set calories 2. Do C25k 3 x a week 3. Go for a walk each day 4. Drink at least 2.5 litres daily 5. Find something positive from my day 6. Practice yoga poses daily
  • Thanks for that article. I had always struggled to find something suggesting protein amounts for kidney patients. In the document it says: "Stable kidney transplant recipients on a maintenance immunosuppression regimen, irrespective of renal function, should not exceed the NHMRC recommended daily intake of protein…
  • Very helpful! Thank you!
  • Thanks! How have you found the program? How has it changed your body and you?
  • I've spent a lot of this year putting fitness and exercise back into my life and feel I'm ready to (and want to) move on to NROL4W. I've joined the group so will no doubt be asking advice and getting involved soon! Thanks dude. I have the instructors on hand at the gym I go to so can ask them advice at anytime.…
  • Thanks! Sounds like great advice. As for my weight, I have reached my 'vanity' weight but am wanting to change my mindset and get a great body instead. When I started pilates and doing bodyweight exercises my weight went up, which concerned me at first, but I understand this will be from increased muscle. Bring it on!…
  • I joined the gym a few months back and have been using the weight machines. I have liked how my body has developed since using them but I always have to wait for the machines as they are popular. It's especially irritating when there are guys just sat at them texting or chatting! I'm looking forward to the…
  • Thanks for the tip! Wishing you a Happy Christmas too! Hi - Initially my goal was to lose weight and improve my fitness. I've reached my 'ideal' weight but my goals have evolved along my journey. I've seen my body change shape and become more defined and now I want to try and develop and encourage my calves to become more…
  • I try to eat 5 times a day - 3 meals and 2 decent snacks. This works out on average every 3 hours. But I'm also on medications which I have to take on an empty stomach, so generally don't eat between 8pm to 8am.
  • A pound lost each week is a healthy way to lose weight.
  • I can't begin to imagine what you are going through. I've lost my Grandparents, but to lose a parent must be awful. I send my thoughts to you and your family.
  • It will take practice as your body and feet aren't used to the shift of weight from being spread across your feet to just the balls and toes of your foot. Start with a lower heel or try wedges as others have suggested. Wear them around the house for a while to get used to them and then once you have found your inner high…
  • I've come to not expect people to be chivalrous. I find I just end up disappointed. I do however still treat people as I wish to be treated, such as opening doors for people regardless of who they are, even if there are no thank yous in return.
  • I have had kidney problems for most of my life and understand the importance of drinking water. But still I struggle. I had a kidney transplant 2 years 9 months ago from my Dad and at first to kick start my kidney I had to drink 6 liters a day... Boy I felt bloated. I do notice how much healthier my skin, nails and hair…
  • :noway: You probably need to double your calorie intake...
  • I don't think it really matters which you do first. But personally I find doing cardio first, although just a warm-up and short workout, gets my body going, prepares my muscles and gets me in the right frame of mind before I do some weights.
