i just typed up a whole message and poof. #upgrades... gah... the short version was this: if you find that those sugar substitutes are giving you cravings for additional carbs, and it's too hard to resist, you may be better off to just eat the real sugar items in the first place, because you'd only eat the one item instead…

salads are just bowls of disappointment. Sorry you had to find out that way.

I don't have a smart phone, and I run outside. For C25k, I downloaded free podcasts that had sound cues for the intervals, telling you when to run or walk. There are a lot of them available online, with different types of music. Any MP3 player can play them.

I wash and then braid my hair as well, if I have to be somewhere looking presentable. Otherwise, I'll wash, then clip my hair up in a messy bun. blow drying? ANGTFT

you have no idea what the word supportive means.

before you people pick her apart, remember that a UK size 8 is not the same as a US size 8.

Height is relevant, too, though. I'm short. At 150 lbs I was undeniably fat.

OK. I'll say it. It sounds like you're already making excuses for yourself, because you don't truly believe that you can get down to a healthy - slim - weight. I recognize this, because I used to be that person, with those thought processes. It's true that some people are aiming for "thin at any cost, who cares about…

TIL I'm a serious body builder lol I'd almost forgotten what it was like to be 22 and know everything.

it's not really worth logging the calories from coffee or espresso. In the grand scheme of things, it's not going to make much difference. Log what you put IN the coffee, though.

Weightloss isn't linear - it's a funny thing. But keep at it, and be consistent, and you'll see results. I lost 10 lbs my first month, and NOTHING the second month. But i kept at it, and over my first 52 weeks I lost 50 lbs.

If you prefer cookbooks over websites, I highly recommend Jamie Oliver's "Food Revolution" cookbook. It has a great variety of nutritious and flavorful recipes, with easy step-by-step instructions. It's a good book for learning, I think. I like recipes that have a lot of great pictures - they make me want to try them,…

What a beautiful post. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'll not take that bet, because you will win

For most people, that feeling doesnt last forever. Your appetite changes. But making sure you get enough protein and fats will help you feel full longer, and lots of veggies will fill you up at a meal without adding a lot of calories.

While I was losing weight, every 6 months I took 2 weeks off and ate at maintenance (or slightly above, at Christmas). It was a great mental boost to get back at working on losing.

^bolded part - that a myth perpetuated by fashion magazines. The appropriate amount of calories varies for each person, and is dependent on many factors, such as height, weight, age, and activity levels. If your calculations say your TDEE is 2990, you should have no trouble losing at 2000. Good luck, it sounds like you're…

@Olivia is there someway someone in admin could help this user fix the glitch in her account? 600 cal per day is clearly an error.

8 fl oz <> 8 ounces of weight. a cup is 8 fluid ounces of volume.

oh, and my tip for your hands - wear mittens instead of gloves. Some people are fine with gloves, but if your hands are cold, mittens will keep you warmer than gloves will.

you may not be eating enough to fuel your training. It's hard to eat at a deficit while marathon training. (not impossible, but hard) If you're bonking at the 90 minute mark, I would suggest taking in at least 100 calories BEFORE you get to that point - probably at 60 or 75 minutes. The gatorade would probably work. If you…

I look up the information on their website, and if they don't have it available, I get information from a comparable pizza place that does. The second pizza sounds worse, because broccoli on pizza is gross. (and I love broc) If you like veg on your pizza, load up - veggies add very little calories to a pizza. If you're…

A cup is ALWAYS a volume measurement. ALWAYS.

I'm really short and petite, and my maintenance BEFORE exercise is higher than 1500

was it because of your poor attitude when people try to help you?

neither do you, if you think you need to log your personal laundry

You get used to it, and it no longer bothers you. You can try wearing a scarf or balaclava over your nose/mouth - that will allow the air to warm up slightly before it hits your lungs. Every year, in late fall, when it starts to get cold, I experience about a week where the cold air is bothersome to breathe. But then I…
