I agree, to each his own, but for me healthy eating and subsequent weight loss is the goal. I just feel better when I eat fruits and vegetables and avod the processed stuff, but for all who can lose and manage to eat whatever they like, more power to them!!!! I just have to look at a bowl of ice cream and gain weight!!

For me my weight issues began after I got married and started having children. It wasn't so much that I let myself go, I simply lost myself, caring for everyone else left little time for me and the weight just crept on until one day I realized OMG I'm fat, lol, of course this realization hit when I had to go buy a dress…

To avoid feeling exactly what your feeling I've stayed off the scale, using how I'm feeling and how my clothes feel as an indicator. And like someone here said...........patience, your not doing this for the scale your doing it for you!! Eating well and exercising is so important for soooo many reasons, the scale is the…

Welcome and feel free to add me!! I bet most of us on here have had the same thoughts, but this is a great place to start with some positive self-speak.............you can and you will DO it, just be realistic one day at a time, Now get going girl!!!!!

Good morning!! Had a great work out this morning and love the way I'm feeling, but can't get myself to step on the scale. So afraid that I won't see weight loss and then I'll eat out of frustration, so I'm avoiding the scale like the plague.........but I really would like to know if all that I'm doing is working. Hate when…

Hi Donna, I'm in the same boat, looking to find friends for inspiration and support, haven't had much success going it alone and I'm starting to really get into MFP, the sense of community is definitely helping. Add me as a friend, WE can do this together!!! Nancy

Too much protein can harm the kidneys, especially true in the diabetic patient!

The night time sweet cravings are the worst for me, I usually tried a cup of tea and a chocolate rice cake but didn't find any relief. Luckily the other day I was at the gym when one of the trainers brought in these fabulous "cookies", they are made very simply, just two bananas mashed with one cup of uncooked oatmeal,…

Can totally relate with all you have said!! It's exactly how I feel, especially regarding the scale, haven't been on since I lost 5lbs, have decided to measure my success by how I feel and eventually getting back into the clothes I was wearing two years ago, figure this is a marathon not a sprint, slow and steady wins the…

Oatmeal half a cup wit one cup fat free milk, load it with some fresh fruit, it's very filling. The Quaker 1 minute quick oats are great, can be prepared in microwave, uch better option than prepackaged oatmeal. Fruit, nonfat yogurt and low fat cheese sticks are great snacks. Load each meal with veggies and you'll feel…

Forget the scale, just continue doing what your doing, your in this for the long haul! I struggle with this myself everytime I step on the scale. I try to focus on how good I feel eating well, and be patient, not easy at all. Congrats on your weight loss and stick with it, it will happen!!!!

Your new height, for sure!!

Was never a water drinker myself, but sliced up some lemons and lots of ice in a pitcher and find that I'm refilling midway through the day. The hardest part now is the frequent trips to the bathroom! Try slicing up some fruit and adding it to your water, you may find it more enjoyable.
