I started this two years ago when I was 59 at 251 pounds (I'm 6'1"). Got all the way down to 198 then over the summer managed to get myself back to 220. Now back at it, really want to get to "onederland" again. MFP will work if you use it, I quit logging food religiously and boom! If you use it it works. Welcome and good…

Usually a banana or piece of fresh fruit before, just to get something in my body. Then coffee and breakfast afterward.

Ad me if you wish. As a pilot it would be great to have an Air Force guy as a buddy! A little older than you, but the aviation stories stay pretty much the same, lol!

Feel free to ad me. My wife and I are in this for the long haul. Been here about two years, don't log religiously because I travel alot, my wife has lodded in over 700 days now (she is a little focused). Good luck on your journey.

Feel free to ad me. I log on daily and have that last 20 or so pounds to go. Trying to "get there" and then "stay there", lol!

Welcome aboard Katie! You'll find a lot of supportive people here. Just so you know we all have bad days but just keep helping each other get back on that wagon. What you said is so important, it's a "lifestyle change". Be patient with yourself and you will get there.

So happy for you. The pic with you and your daughter in your old pants is priceless! You look fantastic and should be so proud of the inspiration you will undoubtedly bring to others.

I do cocoa flavored almonds for my chocolate fix. I'f I'm really on a roll I have a banana with them. Just like a Banana Split!

Check out the website "skinny taste". Gina takes regular recipes and leans them down a little. Most are delicious and even the non-dieters in the family go nuts over some of the recipes. You can eat real food using MFP. Making up a big batch of soup, chili or other casserole over the weekend then freezing meal size…

My life began at 40 (actually 42). Met my current wife and am more active than I ever was prior to that. Your age is a number. I am in better shape now at 61 than I was in my 40''s and feel pretty good.

Feel free to add me. We all need the occasional kick in the pants.

Feel free to add me. I log regularly and have about 30 or so pounds to go. Here to support however I can. My wife and I have been using MFP for almost two years and it has been quite a journey for both of us. There are a lot of supportive people here. Best wished for a great and successful 2014!

Congrats on keeping your resolution. You look great, losing as much as you have you must feel awesome! Keep up the great work.

Fantastic! You really rocked this. Well done young lady.

When you get up in the morning, look in the mirror and you will see the SOB that is the cause of all your problems.
-
Go for it. What's the worst that could happen, you may "only" lose 8% of your body weight! Important thing is to get that scale moving in the right direction!
-
When traveling exercise is a little difficult, but they have workout rooms in most hotels and time permitting I use them. When home I try to stay with my normal schedule as much as possible.

Fantastic job! You look great.
-
What a great achievement! Hold that head high young lady, you did a fantastic job! You look like a different person!
-
Congrats to both of you! My wife and I are doing this together as well, it is nice to see other couples on MFP! Well done both of you!
-
You certainly CAN do this! The fact that you have the desire to do something is important and one step towards getting where you want to be. I lost to within 5 lbs of my goal weight earlier this year only to put put 15 lbs back on during the summer. Not happy about that but I stay as positive as I can. I'm still 30 pounds…

You look fantastic! Great job. Very inspiring.

I log in in advance, putting in what I intend or plan to eat for the day. Then I review it at the end of the day and make changes as necessary and add in the things I didn't plan on eating. This helps me know if and how much I need to exercise to support the level of weight loss and amount of food I am eating. It also lets…

Great results! Keep up the good work!
