I've only lost 14 pounds so far, but what I notice is that I don't cry like a little schoolboy when I put my socks on. Haven't used my puffer in weeks. 30 pounds to go.

I swim 3 times a week. I did it to support my wife who is swimming to lose weight for knee surgery. I swim lengths with fins on. I average 30 seconds per length. The fins really help me get the extra burn in. In less than 2 month I have lost most of my belly and my legs have gotten stronger. I usually try for 60 to 80…

Awesome pictures. Huffing and puffing your way through the bush is a total bummer. It feels great to lose the weight. BC is a terrible place to live, especially the North. ( you have to keep the secret)

Celery, the backbone of the mirepoix, I use it almost everyday in my soups. Now that I have changed my diet, celery no longer dies a slow painful death in my crisper. I go thru about 2 bunches a week. Thanks for sharing this post.

I'm a peanut butter junkie and have been for 45 years. I also love fresh baked sourdough bread. A thick one inch slice of that with a big slab of butter then hit it with peanut butter and top off with a glass of cold fresh milk. I love it so much I have 7 jars in my pantry. Sadly though I have come to realize that I must…

How true it is. Eating healthy and lowering your impact on the local dump. Each week I try to focus on one "processed item" that I can make on my own. My trade is journeyman cook, so it's a little bit easier for me to do. I've worked around massive quantities of food stuffs since I was a teenager. Have experienced a vast…

I'm not a huge fan of turkey, however I have changed my diet and do consume a rather large amount of it. The easiest and cheapest thing to do is buy turkeys when they are on sale. Roast the whole thing off, let it cool down, then remove the skin. Strip the meat from the bones and place meat in tupperware containers and…

Whole deep fried sparrows, my guest's children used slingshots to down the birds which were sitting on the power lines. I was a UN soldier at the time and this happened in Syria back in 86. After dinner coffee was passed around and everyone drank from the same cup. His mother had no teeth so it was kinda a bit weird for…

I believe the orange stuff is cantaloupe, and yes its good for you. Making your own hummus is almost as simple as breathing especially if you own a food processor. Lots of recipes on the internet. Don't worry if you don't have tahini ( sesame seed paste) you can make your own or sub with olive oil. Enjoy your food

I experienced the same problem until I put it back in the shipping box. Now I get a great cardio workout carrying it up and down the stairs in my 30 story apartment complex.

Depends if they are salted/ flavoured? It's alot of extra sodium if they are. Sodium leading to water retention. Do you have sodium levels set up on your calorie counter? I cup of water weights 1/2 pound. One of the many times I quit smoking I turned to sunflower seeds to fill the void. I looked like a beach ball with…

Full beard - as long as you don't have a family of barn swallows living in it. Keep it clean and trim it once a week. Nice to have when it's -20 out.

The cheaper varieties/ brands have an aftertaste. The costlier brands don't. Only a very small percentage of the plant has no aftertaste. The more expensive brands only use the part of the plant that doesn't have an aftertaste. Not sure what the brand name is though. I bought it at Safeway, and the package explains the…
