It's not that a person cannot tell the difference between feelings of hunger and feelings of thirst (those are very different!) But the body will sometimes produce feelings of hunger when what the body really needs is fluid. That's why some people say you should try drinking a glass of water when you get hungry.

I had a similar experience! I am wearing a pair of khaki pants that I haven't worn in months because they were tight and very uncomfortable and today that fit me fine! Made me feel really good about myself and my weightloss!
