Guys this is not really a subject open for debate. It's a fact - The larger you are (mass) the more calories you burn. You are all sitting in front of the Internet if you are reading this. Do a little bit of research and you will see for yourselves.

The generic MFP numbers are not really any good. If you want accurate figures you should get yourself a polar (or other brand) heart rate monitor.

I've burnt over 1000cal in an hour a few times. Now I have lost a few kilos I seem to only hit ~900. As it has already been suggested in this thread - larger body's require more energy. Go and see a Podiatrist and get some custom authodics made. Best thing I ever did (for my running). Then get a pair of Asics Kayano.
