Well, I am no running expert, but I have been running for a lot of years. I always shorten my stride going up steeper hills, but try to push so my speed stays the same. On down hill, just the opposite: longer strides, but slower cadence. Usually this also helps me recover on the downs after my ups.

I am so proud to have you as my MFP friend. I thoroughly enjoy your posts and admire your dedication. You're doing an amazing job, and I will be around when you hit the 100 pound mark!

Ha! Love it. But I am not going to contradict some skinny b!tch telling me how fat she is, either.

exactly.

I don't know if you are afraid of this at all, but I read about beginning runners on here all the time, saying they are afraid of walking, especially signing up for a race and walking. And I laugh and laugh. Because every runner out there in the world knows what a walker is going through. Because they were a walker at one…

Geeky. But love.

"Suck it up so you don't have to suck it in." Also, some really great music can get me going.
One of the morning shows did a test on so called better for you desserts and found that the majority were off on calories by quite a bit. The Arctic Zero was one of the worst offenders testing in at 40-60% higher calories than they were claiming.
Well, damn. Still better than a whole pint of Ben and…

Thank you. I've never heard this before. "Enjoy the process," that is. You're right, people are always talking about their goal weight, and look back on their success--and I guess there is a place for that, and I don't begrudge anyone enjoying their successes. But, man, for someone like me, who is in the very beginning of…

Don't ask. But I get the feeling that you are going to. Which is a terrible idea. But if you want to minimize the damage, tell her she is beautiful, and you want to know how she manages to look so good. That might cause her to open up. But if you are not in a place in your relationship/friendship that you can tell her how…

Wait, have you guys not heard of Arctic Zero?! It's supposed to be a like a frozen protein shake. 150 calories per pint. Lots of different flavors. I mean, you aren't going to be fooled into thinking you just ate ice cream. But if you are having an "I'm gonna eat the whole pint" night, see if your local grocery store has…

Put me down for 10 pounds. Friending you!

I use the Schick Intuition. It's great. Quick, easy, and nice on your skin.

I went through this is March and April. I couldn't make myself do anything. It sounds like I don't need to describe what I went through, because you know exactly how it feels. I went to a psychiatrist, and he prescribed Wellbutrin. Two weeks later, I felt better. Six weeks later, I felt like I was back to my usual self. It…

I had a baby 11 months ago, and I worried about this. Most everything I read (online, so take it for what it's worth) says that it took 9 months to get there, so give yourself 9 months to get it back. Believe me, your belly will deflate some. In the mean time using support and shapewear helps, not only with the shaping,…

That's unbelievable! Great work!

I'm beyond impressed. You are amazing!

I'm in. I've done weeks 1 and 2 before. But I'll muscle through the whole thing with you guys.

Just tell yourself that you have to do SOMETHING. Anything. Tell yourself, I am going to go outside and jog to the end of the block, or walk for 10 minutes, or swim 4 laps, or some small goal. That easy goal seems manageable, but once you get started, it's easier to keep going. And definitely log it. My exercise calories…

Fellow new(ish) mom here. Except my baby is 11 months. But I was there. And I'm still there. Feel free to add me. I need more cheerleaders on my home page!

Room temperature water. An entire pack of "dessert" gum. Peppermints. Chicken broth. Hot tea sweetened with a low calorie sweetener. Fresh fruits sweetened with a low calorie sweetener. Broccoli. More broccoli. And recently, for those afternoon cravings, Snyder's of Hanover Honey Wheat Pretzel Sticks (8 to 16) with a room…

Great job! You took a moment of weakness and turned it into a moment of strength. Add me if you need any more friends!

Awesome!

You're "probably" at 1000-1200? Do you measure it?
-
Well, it's hard to suggest where you might be going wrong, since you don't make your diet public. It's all a numbers game. If you are eating more than you burn, you will gain weight. If you are eating less than you burn, you will lose weight. Sounds like you are eating what you burn. Try knocking 20% off of that, and see…

Try going for a run and lifting weights to speed up your metabolism, and therefore the whole process. In fact, get up and do 20 lunges right now. They're 100% free and guaranteed to boost your metabolism.

I'll be your friend.
