Married with kids...no really, not the show 8) After long run tonight I got to cuddle on the couch with my 12 year old daughter and the wife. Add a Guinness and a 5:00 wake up for Army Guard this weekend....and it's a quiet night. Next Friday night I hope to have finished building my new fire pit and that will be my excuse…

I'm a middle-of-the-pack guy also - PR of 2:14:xx and a goal of 2:00. I think that article (which I like a lot) is hopefully the exception but I suspect that all races have that to some degree. I know the crowd is much less interested in my run by the time I pass - especially if the weather sucks in any direction. The only…

I did just this earlier this spring. HM #1 was at my over-winter training pace and I PRd - not fast, 2:14 which was about 10 minutes faster than the year before. Exactly one week later ran the Lincoln HM with my wife - her first. Ran at her pace of 2:30 for the whole time - felt very comfortable just being 10 minutes…

I've been telling you - you are the bomb - and this proves it. Strong work!

we are a mixed bag. I'm the more athletic and work-out oriented one and she is the better eating one. So we try to encourage each other in the ways that we are good at and improve in our weakness. Sounds good in theory but it means we are probably just annoying each other half the time. I know I'm in way better shape than…

Nicely done Lubrown!

What a great race LTC puts on! Just under 2:30 which was a bit slow (typically run about 2:15) but it was my second HM in 7 days so I just ran and enjoyed! Hope it was good for everyone!

I'm just freaking overjoyed that I skipped going to bed early with the wife and went running instead...
-
I'm so going to bed early because I'm smart that way

carefully building up the miles (not more than about 10% per week) will help with the training injury issues. Good store and getting a good fit of shoes is critical. You're going to spend a bunch of time in them! Keep an idea of how much millage you put into your shoes also - most folks trade them out every 300-600 miles…

Running my 2nd HM April 27th - the Gambler in Council Bluffs, IA. Goal is about 2:05 which is better than my first one of 2:19:57 last spring. Running about 20-25 miles/week. Also in the gym for cross-fit type stuff 3-5 days a week. My 3rd is going to be a week later - May 4th, the Lincoln, NE HM. Goal is to be close to…

I had forgotten about this - so after the run today I have 3 days worth to do....and they say Sunday is a day of rest...sigh...
