Well said, @Sunny_Bunny_ . I understand the op's confusion. I belong to a couple of Keto FB groups and they give conflicting advice. One says moderate protein and more, more, more fat. Another says higher protein, less fat. It's hard to know what will work best for your body.

I eat Fage full fat (in moderate amounts) and I cut it with either sour cream or home made whipped cream. Add a little chocolate protein powder- low carb chocolate pudding!

My lunches are always the same. My dinners do vary only because hubs would not be happy eating the same dinner every night. I don't/won't cook "special" for him.

I have no scientific evidence of anything, but, that said- I have been eating a Ketogenic diet for several years and the only time I have trouble with dry eyes, etc. is during allergy season, and that has always been an issue for me.

I've never done that. I don't know if I would trust must to spit it out.

There is a vast amount of information out there. I would recommend staying away from the sweet treats in the beginning and pay attention to those electrolytes!

Just smashed up with mayo, mustard, hot sauce and a pinch of salt.

Well, I'm still here even though the weight continues to creep up. I haven't had an appetite lately due to the meds I'm on for this *kitten* back injury. Basically confined to the recliner for the time being so not many calories being burned either. It's amazing I'm not ravenous being on steroids. I've changed my macros a…

I used to use a Mason jar until one day it slide off the counter while emptied get the grease from my pants. Not only grease everywhere, but interspersed with broken glass. No bueno. I found an awesome stainless steel one on amazon that has a strainer top and pour spout. It's brilliant.

Count me in. I need all the help and accountability I can get. Of course I want the scale numbers to go down but, my main focus is getting my blood pressure and A1C numbers down.

I'm right there with you. I was guilted into having multiple varieties of Christmas cookies in the house, even though I know certain things are a weakness. Even after I've gone to bed nauseous every night for the past 2 weeks. I have made up my mind. There will be no more. I have to control this before it controls me. We…

I made this recently and it was very good. I had to go a little easy with the chili flakes, though. I love the spicy, but my husband doesn't.

I have my protein @ 25% and that is 75 grams, based on 1200 calories.

" I am working through how I should best manage my food decisions (sounds better than diet)." I love this!

Thank you for posting this! It makes me re-think my macros and approach in general.

Sounds like a few of us are in the same boat. The holidays are a tough time. Stress and too much access to sweets (toxins) have left me feeling pretty lousy. I'm hoping to get my houseguests out of my house (in-laws) in the next week or so (they've been with us since October- long story) so that I can get my routine back.…

Thank you!

I'm intrigued by the "Pigs". Hmmm. I wonder, is there a recipe out there? @dasher602014 14

Thanks for the reminder, Jess! B)

I just had my TSH done- it came back 2.34. My doc says it's a very reliable test and that this is a normal result, no need to check any further. Thoughts?

Mine is a reminder that everything is life is about choice and not to leave things up to chance.

I've never heard of World Market- where are they?

That chicken sounds oh-so-yummy. Gonna have to steal that one!

Thank you @Sunny_Bunny_ for sharing this!

@baconslave- My doc has just ordered TSH, and Cortisol, along with some inflammation stuff. I'll see how these come out then push for more. He did say if the tsh is normal, chances are nothing is wrong. Not so sure I buy that.

I make it in the crock pot. I roast the bones, first, for extra flavor. Cover with water, add seasoning, maybe some ends of onion and peppers that I had thrown in the freezer. I set it to low and let it go at least 24 hours. Strain, put it in jars and refrigerate or, since I get quite a lot, I freeze it. It's wonderful,…

I am determined. My body, however, has other ideas. My weight is up 15# over the past year and a half and now, I have high blood pressure and my doctor wants to put me on a med. I've been eating this way for a long time, and I don't think I'm doing it wrong. I'm disgusted and frustrated. Keeping calories and carbs in check…

Yup, sure sounds like gallbladder to me. Talk to your doctor, sooner, rather than later.
-
Yup. 20 gm or under, total.

Still curious about this chicken, egg and peanut butter thing. Can you elaborate?
