fat and protein = energy, too. do you think we just poop out protein and fat without using it?

precisely. they're very stingy on the meat and veg. and, all the meat is way processed anyway. when i'm trying to lose a few, i nix processed foods, sugar, and grains. taking a bite of a subway sandwich sometimes seems like getting a mouthful of bread.

eating many times a day (such as the 6 small meals a day thing) doesn't work for everyone and isn't realistic for everyone. not everyone can stop and eat a meal 3 or 4 times a day that are outside normal meal times. if you're extremely over weight and its a doctor and/or nutritionist's advice/orders, then i'd do what they…

its not the higher protein, its the lower carbs. i assume your daily calorie count stayed roughly the same when eating higher protein.

IT. parts 1 and 2. my babysitter let me watch them when i was 7. she was fired soon after that when my mom realized i was scared to bathe.

if it was chocolate, those calories don't count. especially on halloween. everyone knows that.

not including water weight, at MOST you may gain like half of a pound. i wouldn't worry about it. you can take that right off in a couple days. just get back to your routine.

i believe the point in drinking water and only logging water as water is so that you're encouraged to get your hydration from sources that do not add sugar/calories/physical effects. yes, in a hospital/assisted living setting all liquids are tracked for fluid intake, but we're not in a hospital or assisted living facility.…

just stop buying them. the only time i would drink soda (which was diet soda-- i've never drank regular soda) was if i said yes to adding a drink to my lunch. i just stopped saying yes to adding to the drink and replaced it with my bottle of water. literally within 3 days, i felt so much better, and i never turned back.

i ran cross-country and track in high school. i will never forget this... its not exactly what was said, but how it was said/how publicly it was said. my cross-country team and i were all on the bus on our way to an invitational one saturday. i was a junior. i wasn't the fastest, but i wasn't the slowest. in front of…

take a barre class. teaches you a TON. i like pure barre, but there are several variations.

homemade chili! 1 lb browned lean ground beef (92%) 1 packet low sodium McCormick chili seasoning 8 oz can no sodium added tomato sauce 14.5 oz can no sodium added diced tomatoes 12 oz can kidney beans, undrained 1 cup diced onion diced green peppers if you wish. simmer all together for about a half hour, the longer the…

i crave salty/savory/crunchy. salt and vinegar kettle cooked chips are MY FAV. although spicy things will tend to be very high in sodium, they help me from reaching for the chip bag. i like snacking on some pickled pepperoncini sometimes. and i absolutely LOVE cucumber/onion salad. all the tang, none of the calories or…

so which is it, an issue with the amount of protein or not??? that's my point.
-
what were your main sources of protein when you were on a high protein diet? and were you including/incorporating a good amount of healthy fats and nutrient dense fruits/vegetables? reason i'm saying this, i have the strong feeling that protein is not the reason your triglycerides were through the roof and your HDL was…

personally, your kids shouldn't be punished for your own lack of self-control. this goes for anything.

first of all, no, everyone is not "doing it". but, i agree with what you're saying. tattoos go back. wayyyy back. they've been apart of cultures for thousands of years. if you have somethingthat is very well thought out and meaningful to you and take it as a very personal experience that you have decided upon for yourself…

if you're torn and can't make up your mind, then don't do it. that's something you should only do if you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY KNOW you want it and you don't see it any other way. if you're hesitant now, then walk away. if you think you have a chance that you're going to regret having a huge tree on the side of your body…

and that's why i carb cycle. but i'm assuming you skimmed over that part. i do much better on lower carb, its just how my body works. i feel better (not to mention look better), my mood is better, i'm less hungry, and i have more energy. not everyone is suited to consume hundreds of grams of carbohydrates a day. if you…

i am pretty sure whey can also come from cheese. its not just simply derived from milk, it comes from dairy in general. how the science breaks down though, i am not certain.

yes, you're right, and i'm sorry, i must have been reading too fast :)

i love Isopure! Hard to find a protein powder that dissolves nicely in water.
-
of course!! you can't get too much protein. as long as you stay within your calorie budget while incorporating the protein powder, and i'm sure you'll see and feel a difference.
-
do you know that whey is animal protein?
-
anything that is whey isolate, and fortified with vitamins and minerals is best. i use ISOPURE (one serving a day, which is two scoops) and i have a serving of almonds along with it because protein requires fat for it to be fully absorbed. this is usually my breakfast or lunch.

to the OP: i didn't read through the 4 pages of replies. but i've got 2 words.. CARB CYCLE. also... every low carber out there isn't on a ketosis inducing/maintaining diet. there's a difference between striving for ketosis, and living low carb. i stay at 40-70 net when not doing a high carb/cheat day, which is "low carb",…
