Learning how your body responds and reacts to different sources of calories and different qualities of food. Understanding my body and the science and design of it has given me everything I need to maintain a healthy weight for the rest of my life.

Um, bacon, jerky, canned tuna and soups ARE processed foods. And have you ever even READ the nutrition labels on those items? It doesn't sound like it.

100% agreed and true. Low/lower carb is meant to cut out simple carbs, and what carbs you do intake are to be complex/slow digesting. 50g of carbs a day that are all sugar while on a "low carb diet" is completely defeating the entire point of going low/lower carb. Anyone considering or on a low/lower carb diet/lifestyle…

low carb can result in very high sodium if you're not careful of that. might need to change the sources of your protein (i.e. cut back on the bacon and jerky, fresh fish instead of canned tuna, soups can be killer as well.) keep your water intake high and make sure you're getting enough veg and good fats.

if you love and appreciate your name as an adult, then your parent(s) did a good job. you're not just naming a baby, you're naming a future adult.

seriously, if money is the problem, just get a beautiful vintage $50 white dress from etsy or something. one that is actually sewn together.
-
for what it would cost to have a professional sew it together and taylor it, she could get a brand new dress.

uhh, source? its yogurt with added cultures. sure with taking a pill you have more control over what specific strains you're ingesting, but i have never heard anything about it being "really bad for you". it is food with probiotics in it. i personally am not a yogurt fan, but i have a glass of acidophilus & bifidum milk…

sometimes, you can eat all the fiber you want, and it won't help. you may need incorporate probiotics into your daily diet.

one of the best pieces of advice i've seen. you've got to GET OUT THERE. seriously, have to have a social life if you're trying to be known. go to happy hour. have a couple drinks. engage with people.

i did not read through all 11 pages of comments, but incase it hasn't been mentioned: 1200 is the lowest mfp will recommend. many people want to lose 2 pounds per week, which equates for a 1,000 calorie deficit per day. many people's (especially women or sedentary lifestyles) will not have a tdee of 2,200. for example,…

i really don't mean to be rude, but have you been living under a rock for the last 5 years? its a fact that new grads are having a tough time in the current job market. look for a new job, but suck it up and be happy you have one while you look. stop crying in the bathroom, put on a better attitude, and be a little…

it would probably be more accurate for me to say that when i partied for 5 years, i also went to school, did some homework and held down a full time job.

it doesn't sound like work is your problem. transitioning to another position is not going to solve what you're going through right now. you may temporarily feel better, but unti you get to the root cause of your issues, you're never going to be happy no matter what you're doing. and on that note, 700 applications is…

seriously. and, apparently we're too old to go out and have fun, too.

what a rip!!!! usually its the BEANS they treat to get the flavor. they should include the fact that its syrup and not flavored beans.

salads can be deceiving, but most of time, its due to dressing. cheese/croutons/dried fruit/fried chicken will obviously add to the high calorie count, but those are usually more obvious. i always ask if they have a light alternative to the dressing, and if not, either get it on the side, order something else, or leave off…

no, i wasn't. it was someone who started throwing the words "Mayo Clinic" around that started that. and as i've said, if you want to use your water tracker as a fluids tracker instead, then fine! my whole point was that logging EVERYTHING towards water, be it soup/coffee/tea/soda, is most likely not going to give you the…
-
yes, i am aware that everything a patient ingests is logged. if you want to use your "water tracker" as a "fluids tracker" instead, by all means go right ahead. but if it was mfp's intent to have its participants be concerned only with how much fluid they're ingesting rather than how much water they're ingesting, wouldn't…

i would like to see your links to reference. i work in the healthcare industry, and coffee/soda/milk are hardly ever credited as towards your daily water requirements within the healthcare community (i've never even heard of it). milk is actually usually classified as a food because of the digestive properties. sodas can…

WRONG. because those items do not come close to hydrating as well as water does, if at all. that's why its a "water tracker". not a "liquids tracker".
-
you're missing the point. logging water has everything to do with logging water. not logging something that isn't water.
