<3 because i'm sure that if that profile pic is actually his, he TOTALLY got that body by eating nothing but nutty bars and hot pockets. (but keeping a calorie deficit, of course.)

well, i'm not a vegetarian so i'm not a huge expert in vegetarian-friendly sources of protein. but, there are plenty of protein shakes that are vegetarian friendly, and the good plan sources of protein i know of are edamame, quinoa, beans and legumes, nuts and seeds, avocado, peas, broccoli, spinach, kale, soy milk. i…

OP-- another way to look at it is to focus on getting enough protein and good fats into your diet, with sticking to your caloric budget. your carbs will by default go down. sufficeint protein and fats is very important to weight loss.

this exchange is exactly why i stopped looking at the message boards for the last six months. thought i'd take a look today, and nope, nothing's changed.. THERE IS NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL APPROACH. some people tolerate a large amount of carbs in their diet just fine. but there are plenty of people that don't. if i do not…

same here! but, at the same token, i am also the shortest in my family, and i'm the oldest of 5. i come from big Nordic blood.

KERATIN. I use TREsemme Keratin Smooth shampoo & conditioner. Huge bottle for like 4 bucks. I too wash my hair daily, and I have a TON of it.

you make them! just grate fresh parmigiano-reggiano cheese, and bake on a cookie sheet. there are directions and recipes online.

that's so great!! good for you! so much can be cured/controlled/bettered/lowered/(insert applicatable verbage here) through mindful eating. i HATE seeing "a calorie is a calorie is a calorie."

it was suggested by an endocrinologist. i understand that you may not be knowledgeable in the field of internal medicine or endocrinology, but the endocrine system (which is made up of 7 hormones that fluctuate at different times of the day and are dependent on many, many factors) maintains and controls glucose metabolism.…

do you neet to watch your blood sugar levels? if not, then by all means, eat both both items... but be sure you are getting enough protein and good fat in your diet too. i personally see and feel a HUGE [positive] difference when i stick to a carb cycle.

you don't lose weight on a 24 hour schedule. of course you can average out your calories!
-
i second the fat thing. if you're eating low fat/not getting enough dietary fat, that will def make you constipated. and, a probiotic may help. i drink acidophilus milk and i'm always regular. if i don't have my acidophilus milk, i may have a problem. are you a coffee drinker? usually coffee drinkers don't have a problem…

1. do not believe everything you read on the internet. 2. remember, claims may SEEM serious, but contextually, they're not. for example, the whole coffee and anxiety/insomnia/jitters thing. well DUH SHERLOCK. what this claim is REALLY saying is don't be a dumbass and drink too much or have it too close to bedtime. 3. do…

sedentary.

Yup, mark yourself down as lightly active. Anything outside your normal daily duties, such as a workout, is what you would log.

you want a cookie?

aaaand then i aplogize for calling you ignorant. :flowerforyou: i've seen other posts from people claiming to be some sort of knee/squat specialist. i'd just like to say that there are many different kinds of knee issues. and some are not simply corrected by using proper form and/or strengthening your leg muscles.
-
uhm, as a 28 year old woman who is an ex-cross-country and track runner who can no longer run or do squats BECAUSE OF HER KNEES, i just wanted to say that you, my dear, are extremely ignorant.

ps... i WISH cantelopes and mangos were negative calories. fruit is delish, but i watch it because of the sugar. where the heck did you hear that those were negative calorie foods? i can understand the celery myth, and MAYBE broccoli, but fruit??
-
there is no such thing as a negative calorie food. that's a myth.
-
i'll have a quest bar and a glass of water. BOOM. great protein, great fiber, about 170-200 calories (depending on the flavor), and keeps me full for hours.
-
two words: PROTEIN and FAT. eat more of both.
-
its not GOOD for you, but used in moderation its not BAD. the reason why it is said that sugar substitutes add to weight gain/hinder weight loss is because it keeps alive your wanting sweet, keeping you craving carbohydrates. when your body is anticipating sugar and wanting it so badly (as is often the case for…

my thoughts exactly. and, IF the doc actually did place limitations on what is allowed for dinner, i'd think it'd rather be more along the lines of low GI, not "fat free".

don't know if you're into salads or not (it IS still winter after all..) but one of my favorite super super quick salads is a bag of rainbow slaw (from the produce section), chopped green onion, shredded chicken, and light sesame ginger salad dressing. viola, chinese chicken salad- and absolutely loaded with nutrients.

hates 'gon hate. just smile and tell them how great you feel.

i have the same exact thing at the number i am currently at. i'm just maintaining right now, but there have been plently of times where i'll want to shed 5 pounds and it seems virtually impossible. its not though. up your protein (but keep your cal deficit) and incorporate weights/strength training. that's the only way i'm…
