As far as the moving (exercising) goes, I started at 299 lbs (a couple months ago) and can totally relate to the pain you feel just from the weight alone. I also have a bad back which hurts if I stand, sit, lay or walk for any length of time. I just started with a 7 min walk. Believe me, I was out of breath and very sore…

Wow! That's so awesome! What an accomplishment! Congrats!

Thank you so much for this post! It's very helpful to me too as I feel you were telling my story. Some of the ideas were very helpful. I however, do take a medication (that I have to take for the rest of my life), that causes weight gain. It is necessary for me to take this medication with 300 calories and in the evening…

Yes, I do go over on here. I don't go by the recommended amount on MFP. I was in a nutrition program lead by a Registered Dietician/Nutritionist and she said no more than 32 grams per day of "added" sugar. Therefore, naturally occuring sugars (as in fruits) wouldn't count. Things like Craisins (which I was eating…

First and foremost I should be out walking! It's a beautiful day out and I need to get my exercise in. I just can't get motivated today. I feel like a sluggo! I should also be editing my 840 wedding pics (from August) that I need to get together for a Shutterfly Book/Album. There are so many other things the list is too…

I agree with you Greg! I try my best to support and encourage while hoping to get the same in return. I have found some amazing support on here, along with great tips and hints from yourself included. Sometimes I don't do too much more than the "way to go" and "good job" because I feel like I don't have enough weight loss…

The medication is Geodon (a psych med). We have tried many others over the years and they did not work like Geodon does. One of the side effects is weight gain. We (my psych) have me on the lowest dose that is able to control my symptoms while trying to avoid weight gain. I also take about 5 other psych meds (yes, I'm…

I just finished reading a book about water. According to the book, for the health benefits of water (including weight loss), the only thing that counts as water is pure, clear water with nothing added. No tea, Crystal Light and etc. Those would not count as a glass of water. Some of those things actually have a dehydrating…

I personally record my exercise on MFP just for the purpose of being able to look back on it and keep track of what I'm doing (minutes wise). I don't pay attention to the calories burned too much. I just want to know I'm burning something. I don't "eat back" my exercise calories. I went through a nutrition program and the…

Hi! I have about 132lbs to lose. I originally joined MFP back in February, however I didn't utilize it. I've been back now for maybe about 6 weeks. I too have sought out friends on MFP that have 100+lbs to lose because I feel they can relate better. Since I've been back to MFP, this time I started getting friends and made…

Hi there! I'm 44 and have had weight issues my whole life. I orginally joined MFP at the beginning of the year but didn't utilize it until maybe 6 weeks ago or so. I have over 130 lbs to lose and I'm finding the support on MFP to be an amazing tool. BTW, I'm inked too :) Feel free to add me if you'd like.

It's kind of double sided for me. I made my diary open to friends because I want feedback, ideas and also to be accountable. I feel like that's the only way I can succeed and have this thing work for me. I welcome the comments for food and exercise. However, it's probably not right of me because on the other hand, I don't…

I'm 5'2" and well over 240lbs. I joined MFP early in the year, however I didn't utilize it. I've just started back with it and this time got friends and etc. I'm determined to do this!

My 8yr old God Daughter was killed in a car accident and she called me "Titi". Her name was Journee and nick name was "J" so it became titi4j.

I usually and always have gained 5-7lbs of period weight. It freaks me out every month and sure enough it drops back off a week later. You would think after all these years I would avoid the scale or not get freaked out by it. I think 3lbs could definitely be water weight in your case. I usually gain it in the week leading…

I weigh myself daily, every morning as soon as I get up. It doesn't work so well for me because weight changes so much daily and then I obsess on it. I'm trying to start doing it weekly as my nutritionist suggested. So far the most I've made it is 3 days. I have a friend that weighs weekly and it works well for her.

Thanks for sharing your amazing accomplishment and incredible photos! What a gorgeous couple you and your wife are! Thank you for your post, it's inspiring! I have a bit over 130 lbs to lose and some times I feel it's not attainable. You have given me faith that it's possible. Enjoy your vow renewel and your new life with…

I like that I have come back to MFP and gotten serious. In getting serious about it I have got friends now (something I didn't do last time), and the support has made a big difference and I've now lost 10 lbs as of yesterday. I still have a long way to go but I'm very excited about this first 10 lbs.

Those are great NSVs! They're not itty bitty by any means! Thank you for sharing them. Sometimes I forget the NSV are important too when it comes to myself so thanks for reminding me.

You are hilarious!!!

What an inspiration you are! Thank you for your post, it's just what I needed. Sometimes I just feel like the 130 some lbs I have to lose is too much and that I'll never be able to do it. Your story has helped me realize it is possible. Thanks again and have a great day!

What a great post/challenge! It's just what I needed right now as I am on my 4th day of no diet soda/caffeine and am having a strong craving. I already feel so much better. Of course I had a headache for the first couple days but now I feel really good. I'm hoping I can fight this craving today and continue.

A few years back I got a gym membership and a personal trainer. I was so embarrassed because of my weight and the gym was full of college kids. When I told my trainer that. He said, "trust me, the people here are so self absorbed, they don't even notice you!" That really helped me cause as I looked around, I realized he…

Thank you so much! I now know I have to utilize MFP to it's fullest to get results, and that includes friends, groups and etc.

I have a friend that has been using MFP for 200+ days and has lost over 40 pounds so I know it's possible.

Thank you so much. I feel like the support will be key to my progress :)
