  • My husband would be in a coma and eventually die if it weren't for Canada. There is absolutely no way we could pay $1,500 per month for one medication on top of the $1,300 we pay for healthcare. I love Canada :)
  • Health Insurance!!! I can't even get started cause I'll never stop. My husband and I pay more in healthcare per month than our rent is and we still don't get the coverage we need. One of my husbands medications, which is required to keep him out of a coma and surely followed by death, is not covered and there is absolutely…
  • I have a half Corgi half Beagle. She is my life!
  • I lost 47 pounds in about 2 and a half months about a year ago. The way I did it was not planned. I was very sick and could only eat boiled, skinless chicken breast and steamed vegetables that had to be ones that were easily digested. It was awful. Even though I was very sick a part of my mind was happy about the loss.…
  • I don't know if you have a Costco in your area, they have Kirkland Signature brand turkey breast lunch meat that is low in sodium and has no nitrates/nitrites (cancer causing chemicals). Only the Kirkland Signature brand, not the others they carry.
  • Hi there! I have a smoothie almost every morning and it's with pea protein powder. I use Almond milk that's only 40 calories (8oz), Spinach (you can't taste it but get in extra veggies, it just doesn't look pretty), Frozen blueberries or Frozen strawberries, Vanilla pea protein powder and a fiber boost to help stave off…
  • I go by what I was told by a nutritionist I was seeing. She said as long as you don't have diabetes, you should only worry about "added sugar" and that you shouldn't have more than 28 grams of "added sugar" in a day. Therefore, natural sugars as in fruit would not count in the daily max of 28 grams. I don't pay attention…
  • Great topic! I'm always interested in anything people who have lost 100lbs or have 100lbs to lose can offer. I have a bit over 130lbs to lose.
  • I make similar cake only without the angel food and it works just fine. I do 3 tablespoons of any cake mix, 2 tablespoons of water and 1 minute in the microwave and it comes out a perfect little snack size cake. I have never used angel food and it rises fine. Sometimes I do half of the water as applesauce and it makes it…
  • Peanut Butter! I'll eat the whole jar in 2 days if I have it in the house. I can't buy it. The funny thing is I didn't even like it when I was younger.
  • Wow!!! Congrats on your success! Thank you for sharing your journey. You give me hope as I am just under 300 and it's difficult to exercise. Sometimes I feel like I'll never be able to do it. Thanks for the inspiration!!! You look awesome!
  • Wow, you look stunning! Thank you so much for sharing your pics and journey with us. I have over 100lbs to lose and can't afford a gym membership or a bunch of dvd's. It's nice to know it's possible without the gym. Congrats with your success!!!
  • I'm not sure if you have a Trader Joe's in your area but they have Better N Peanut Butter for 100 calories for 2 tbsp. It's still made from peanuts and it tastes sooooo good!!! Maybe if you don't have a TJ's you can google it to see if they sell it elsewhere in your area.
  • I have had my doctor and a registered dietician both tell me that colon "cleasing" can destroy good, necessary bacteria. Also, that as long as you're eating enough fiber it will take care of itself.
  • Today I am most thankful for our local food bank. If it weren't for the generousity of our community we wouldn't have a food bank and I don't know what my husband and I would do. I'm grateful to have my husband by my side... I hope everyone had a great day.
  • Awesome work!!! You look amazing!
  • Congrats on all your hard work!!! What an inspiration!!!
  • I use my smoothie as a way to get in some extra veggies I wouldn't otherwise have. My smoothie is: Almond milk, spinach, frozen blueberries or strawberries (rarely banana cause they're high in calories and sugar and fresh, raw spinach has more potassium), vanilla protein powder and a fiber boost. The color may look…
  • Good for you for taking care of yourself. I quit 13 years ago after many attempts that didn't last. A month here, 6 months there, a couple months, a year and finally got it! I went cold turkey and just chewed the heck out of straws. I know that's not exciting or anything but that's what I did. I also kept bottled water…
  • What I've done in the past has seemed to work out well. I want to support the Girl Scouts so I give them the money for a box or two of cookies and then tell them I would like them to give the cookies to the next person they see that might need them (i.e. someone less fortunate that may be hungry). They usually get very…
  • You look fabulous!!! Congrats on all of your hard work losing it and keeping it off. Thank you for your post, you're an inspiration. I have over 130lbs to lose and you give me hope that it is possible.
  • Good for you!!! You look amazing!
  • I wear mine on the front pocket (edge) of my pants. The only thing I've found not accurate is it adds steps sometimes when I'm driving. I don't know if it's the motion of moving my foot from the gas to the brake or not. I need to try it on the left side while driving. I LOVE my FitBit! Oh, and I wear the wristband when I…

  • I wish I had some of my friends in my area so I could meet them. I'm on the west coast in northern Cali/Bay area and most of my friends are on the east coast. I would like to meet any of them, however there are a special few that I would love to meet. They've been so supportive. So far I've found everyone on here to be…
  • Congrats!!! You look amazing!!!
  • I'm not familiar with the Jawbone but I do have a FitBit Ultra. I love it!!! It does show how many times you wake during the night which I have found useful in how I feel during the day. It does fit closely, I wear it clipped on the pocket of my pants, and I've never had a problem with it even moving at all. I love how it…
  • Seriously this thread is cracking me up!!! I needed a good light hearted laugh!
  • I haven't done it and I am totally sedentary with some back issues. So, I did some online research and found a Jillian Michaels For Begginers. I think I'm going to get it and try it out.
  • I originally joined in Feb of last year also, however I didn't utilize the site until a few months ago. I am on the journey to lose 130+ lbs and could use support. Feel free to add me if you'd like.
  • I personally don't watch the show. I did once years ago and it scared the daylights out of me. I felt there had to be much more going on that we don't see. I so agree that it does a massive disservice to dieters by giving them a horrible idea of what is acceptable and what isn't. As far as someone taking a spot that…
