Try the Tough Mudder training program: http://toughmudder.com/tough-mudder-boot-camp-training/

We don't hate you. We hate Jillian.

Go to Youtube and look up Spartan Sprint or Spartan Race. You'll be able to see the various obstacles. Do a search. A lot of people on MFP do the various mud runs.

Are you only trying to lose 7 lbs like in your ticker? What are you eating? Try shifting your exercise and add some lifting.

I'm into Cathe Friedrich. Her tapes are solid exercise. She runs the gamut from simple cardio to hardcore heavy lifting.
-
it's a variant of low carb eating. I say go for it.

If what you are doing is working, no need to change. Don't get caught up in all the dialogue here on the message boards. There is more than one way to lose weight.

Your question isn't about the benefits of cardio. It sounds like your real question is why do you eat the calories back. Since you're a med student, you can look up the benefits of cardio exercise and the need for heart health and cardio endurance. As to eating back calories, some people eat them and some don't. It's up to…

A person's average heart rate is unique to their body. Depending on your age and level of fitness, that could be high. However, if you just go that high momentarily and are not staying at that high level, you should be okay. I've seen crazy high numbers at the peak of exertion but they are lower during the majority of the…

You'll have to build up a tolerance for working out. You are not used to working out and your body getting hot.
-
It's true. Soreness is not always an indicator of effort or intensity of a workout.
-
It's only been 5 days. You haven't been lifting heavy weights. You are NOT gaining muscle. If the scale has gone up, it's most likely water retention due to your body reaction to the new exercise. Watch your sodium and give it more time.

I just wanted to quote the above again. If you post something on a public forum, there are going to be people that agree or disagree. Someone who is disagreeing is NOT judging you. They're just disagreeing. OP, I just re-read the title of this thread. Are you really saying that you don't want real, honest, but contrary…

Ever watch the Biggest Loser and see how much time they spend hocking Subway and Jennie O turkey? TV is about getting and promoting sponsors. Most of the products featured end up on the show because of publicists and not because Dr. Oz has personally researched them. They may not be dangerous, but I doubt they are super…

Yeah, you can just eat protein. Why not? You can't eat a chicken breast alone? Make protein a priority is your meals and reduce the carbs some. That will help balance out the overall calories.
-
Check out Cathe Friedrich's strength videos. She has quite a few that uses a barbell. Also, there is Les Mills' Body Pump by Beachbody.

Actually...no. Not liking Jillian Michaels has nothing to do with taking the easy way out. Her 3-2-1 system is too fractured for my taste. For those with knee issues, it's not wise to knowingly push yourself to an injury. There are other ways to get in a great workout without hurting yourself just to say you're "JM tough."…

Do it when you feel the strongest. The time doesn't matter.

Add more cardio.

I'm starting the program tomorrow.

It still wouldn't be accurate. There is no true way to predict what the body will do.

I'm looking at: American Council on Exercise (ACE) www.acefitness.org Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA) www.afaa.com If you are choosing a certification, look for one that is accredited by a third party such as NCCA, DETC, and CHEA, or one that has aligned itself with NBFE.

Cut the carbs. Yes, the bread, the pasta, the flour, the sweets and sugar.
-
I see that you're new here. You're probably going to get a lot of negative comments about doing a cleanse. Don't fret. Do what you think is right. Good luck.
-
That's so interesting. I think more people should know that when considering their options.
-
You can have anything you want. Just log it. You don't have to consult MFP first. MFP counts calories. WW counts point. Those points just translates into calories. Counting is counting.

I'm not being rude. Did the surgery cause you to gain the weight back or was it your eating that caused you to gain the weight back?

Food CAN"T make you feel anything. It doesn't have any legs, arms, or power. It's you that is choosing to feel ashamed of yourself. You control your thoughts and feelings. You control your actions. If you don't want to feel ashamed, then don't feel ashamed. Find a new way to process what you are doing. Find a new way of…

All the surgery does is change your digestive system. It doesn't change your head or how the body works. They still have to maintain a calorie deficit (and exercise) in order to lose weight. At one point gastric bypass was the hot new thing. Now that some time has passed, we are getting a better picture of the results.…
