Have you been exercising or doing strength training? That will help some will the loose skin. The stretch marks most likely won't go away. You can try some of those stretch mark lightening products like Strivectin.

My personal opinion is that the JM workouts are ineffective for most people. It's not enough good cardio or weights for that matter. Get in good hard cardio, eat your base line calories and if you want, do your best to eat the exercise calories. If you don't fit in every single last one, then that's just life. Worrying…

Change the goal to "maintain current weight."
-
When you stall, you need to make a change. Up your exercise. I see 20 minutes of circuit training. Is that a JM video? You need to get some consistent hard cardio in. Change your eating. Try doing low carb for a few weeks.

Different scales weigh differently. No need to panic. Just weigh in on the same scale to get consistent number. Also, body weight fluctuates. One pound shouldn't wreck your emotions.

Eat to get in your calories and plan better next time.

It's all the same unless it goes against the rules of engagement.

You have to practice holding in your belly button while still breathing. Suck in your belly button as much as you can. You will involuntarily suck in your breath. Hold your stomach muscles but slowly exhale through your mouth. Then slowly inhale again through your nose. Do this while still holding your muscles tight. It…

You do realize that it's all the same thing? MFP calls it counting calories and WW calls it counting points. The points just equal a certain amount of calories.
-
Yep. I have a food scale. Scales don't lead to paranoia. Your thought patterns lead to paranoia. With a food scale, I plan out 4 ozs of chicken and then I put it on the scale to make sure I'm not eating more than that. It takes 10 seconds to verify and I move on. It's about portion control. You have to know how much of…

Were they ripe? Maybe you just don't like avocados. If you don't like them, why force them down? Try them on sandwiches, add them to salads or make guacamole as a snack.

You can't work off sodium. It's a macro. If you've had one salty meal, I wouldn't worry about it. In generally, doing good hard cardio builds up a good sweat.

True, you can't spot reduce. However, the overall fat loss along with strong, tight core muscles will reduce the size of the abdominal area. Insanity and Turbo Fire are cardio workouts. You have to target and work the specific abdominal and core muscles for that area to get tight.
-
Lose the weight you want to lose and do some serious core work and strength training. I mean SERIOUS core work. My ultimate goal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMCWNl5PMzE  You can find good free core videos on YouTube on Fitness Blender's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/FitnessBlender/videos?query=core

Are you getting in good, hard cardio and consistent weight training?
-
Yeah, everybody's path is different. Good you found what works for you. It looks like you had less than 20 pounds to lose overall. Perhaps a larger person would need a more aggressive plan.

Why are you believing "you guys" instead of doing your own research. Who's to say that "detoxng" doesn't have some benefits? I believe in juice fasting. I wouldn't say it has special detoxifying powers but I believe it does something. Bottom line: use your own mind.
-
Probably not. It's harder to gain muscle than people think. A lot of times, WOMEN use that as an excuse when the scale bounces around. Unless you've been lifting heavy, it's most likely not muscle. It's probably shifts in water weight.

Some people are dogmatic about this weight loss thing. When someone is at a plateau or is stalled, I always tell them to try low carb for a few weeks to see what happens. That's a good indicator to see how their body reacts to carbs.
-
You're fairly new. Every forum has a "forum culture." This forum is not big on alternative methods and ideas. Do your own research and do what you feel is best. You can post and ask questions, but be prepared for negative responses.

Different people, different bodies. Just like some people are lactose intolerant or have issues with gluten, some people don't do well with carbs.
-
Yep, I sure do. I am not a number. If it goes up or down, I'm okay with it. The scale is just a tracking tool. I track my weight weekly.
-
Yeah, you can. A few weeks ago I had bbg ribs and fries for dinner one day. At the end of the week, I was down 3 pounds. Food is food. Limit the high cal stuff to once a week or once every couple of weeks. Make it fit within your calories.
-
The effectiveness depends on your current level of fitness. If the video is above your current level of fitness, you may see results. If it's below, then you probably won't get much out of it. I've been doing weights for a while and it's not doing much for me.

Not being a smart aleck, but you can eat anything you want. There is no magic meal or magic foods. What do you like to eat? Eggs and bacon, a turkey sandwich, chicken breast and veggies, etc. It just has to fit within your calories. Eat real food and don't depend on processed, packaged foods.

But taking that advice from someone else is still an adult choice. If someone wants to do that, that's on them. It may work or it may not work. Let adults do what they want and let them deal with the consequences.

I think you either like JM or you don't. Since you have the DVD already, I'd say watch each level a few times to get a feel for it. I have it, I'm on week 2 and I'm thinking about dumping it and going back "real" weight work. You don't have to stand on one leg to lift dumbbells.

^^ I LOVE Cathe Friedrich. No gimmicks, no rambling, boastful speeches. Just good, old fashioned hard work.

Why are adults trying to get internet strangers to agree with their life choices? No one needs permission from MFPs to eat or not eat whatever they want. If you are going to do something "unpopular," why even make a thread about it? Just eat what you're going to eat and be done with it. Internet approval not needed.
