I haven't decided if I am going to stick with it or not. Quite honestly I have had extreme tunnel vision the last 2 months. I'm the kind of person who when I decide to take on a challenge I go after it pretty hard. I believe this is why I over trained last week because I felt so much pressure with the race coming up.…

Thanks. Nice dog.

I'm not a runner, never have been. Even when I was younger and an athlete in good shape I didn't run much. I haven't jogged in years until I started the couch to 5K program two months ago. When I have trained I have usually done so soon after having some coffee and something light to eat like a Banana or Cottage cheese.

Thank you, that is some really good advice.

9:30 am start time. I was just going to have a light breakfast at around 7 am and drink coffee as I normally would in the morning.
-
Thank you. How long before the race should I eat and I am guessing it should be a pretty light meal?

Yes, I did it a week and a half ago. I am not an experienced runner at all. I am not sure if being off from running for a week and resting my knees will be better or worse than had I gotten back to some training the last couple of days. One thing I definitely plan to do is take it real easy on Saturday, just not sure what…

My daughter belongs to this group called Girls on the run. They have a huge race every year which goes through Hershey Park in Hershey PA. Each girl has to have a running buddy. I am my daughters running buddy and I so I feel a lot of extra pressure to do this and do it well. I have run a practice 5K once so I know I can…

That might be even harder than finishing the race well. I am nervous as hell which I know wont be good for me on race day. But to top it off I am nervous that I will be extremely nervous on Sunday, lol. Obviously taking an ativan is not an option because that will cause some fatigue. I guess I need to find a way to turn…

Thanks for the responses everyone. I know I was kind of answering my own questions by making that post which was something I needed. But I also need to hear advice from others. It helps me to validate what I am thinking and give me fresh perspectives if I need them. I still need to take some time to think about what I am…

Is Diet soda really that bad for a person? When I started my diet a few months ago I was coming off of drinking 3 or 4 cans of regular soda a day, and probably 2 gallons of iced tea a week. One of the biggest challenges for me was to just quit those things and I did. I need to get soda out of my system completely to make…

Thanks for the advice and tips everyone. I guess I just need to bite the bullet and add sodium to list of Calories, Fat, and Carbs that I need to watch. I've got the other three down already so what's another thing to watch at this point. Today is screwed though, two damn meals and I am already at about 2,000 for Sodium.…
