  • I do one mindful meal every day - meaning (I eat and try to minimize other distractions): 1) No tv/phone 2) Sit with nothing on my table except the lamp, food, and a glass of water 3) Put the fork/food down after each bite (and don't pick up the next bite yet) 4) Take a little sip of water after each bite, then take a…
  • Thanks for the update! As a response to your advice 1. I know a bunch of prosthetic and orthotic students and they're making free orthoses for my feet!!! 2. Still working on finding a good pair of shoes. I have really wide feet and wear 4E or 6E in wideness, so it can be hard to find something that fits. 3. I actually cut…
  • I tried these (and stopped using them): http://www.amazon.com/Medical-Grade-Bunion-correction-system/dp/B003NWMYC4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405232479&sr=8-1&keywords=bunion So far, I've just been compensating for the bunions. I'm taking a yoga and swimming class currently, and may just start doing lots of that! I started…

  • Optimum nutrition natural chocolate is delicious! I prefer the natural one because it has a lot less artificial sweeteners 130 kcal/scoop, 24g protein. If you do protein powder, I recommend getting a Blender Bottle... those things are awesome! I like mixing protein with milk, but water tastes decent with it.
  • I mostly listen to the going quantum podcast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdzcCzwKGZ4 it's free to download btw!
  • Kickass! Show that gravel who's boss! I'm gonna start c25k soon too
  • I like the recumbent bike a lot, but there are a few comparisons I can think of. My main source of cardio is the elliptical, and I switched over to the recumbent bike for a couple weeks just to try it. So! As far as numbers on the machine and numbers being logged on myfitnesspal, the recumbent bike burns a lot less…
  • Awesome! I'm trying to enjoy running more. So far I can run about a mile and a half, but I really want to be able to run a 5k. I wanna be fast! I may start c25k
  • I like it! Being veggie forces me to be more creative with cooking, and everything I eat feels really fresh. With meat, I was usually really lazy and would buy prepackaged frozen stuff or a roasted chicken. Though I'm limiting myself, I feel like I have more options now. Kinda odd. Thanks for all the compliments and…
  • There we go, fiddled with the pic a bit
  • If you have access to a recumbent bike, those are pretty awesome. They don't burn calories as easily as an elliptical, but you can let your messed up arm dangle/stretch and focus on using your legs. I do a lot of upper body rotation on the elliptical and it has been painful since I've had shoulder problems.
  • 1/3 cup of Trader Joes Multigrain hot cereal (fancy pants oatmeal) 1 tbsp pb2, powdered peanut butter (so low calorie, and kicks *kitten*) 1 banana, squashed hulk style. total: ~230 calories
  • As long as I'm under my TDEE, I'm pretty peachy. Usually I go over the mfp cals by a couple hundred knowing that I'll still be losing something. Since I'm close to my weight loss goal, I'm not really rushing it. For food stuff, my biggest priority is getting used to a healthy lifestyle I can maintain for the rest of my…
  • I really like running because I get a sense of accomplishment from doing it. As far as calorie burning, my favorite is the elliptical. Super easy and I never feel sore from a good 30-45min workout.
  • I can always use new mfp buddies too, anyone can feel free to send a request!
  • I did martial arts from age 4 - 17. (Yes, 13 years.) At the end, I was an assistant instructor and almost went to school to become a full time instructor. The big thing that made me stop was how corporate martial arts can be. It's all about business and marketing. Though I don't like how martial arts schools market…
